The moment Theron felt the Nightingale Ancestor Bird's reaction, he knew that he had done the right thing. It really did recognize what was before them.
"Do you know what this is?" Theron asked.
"This… shouldn't appear here… this planet, it…"
The Nightingale Ancestor Bird seemed very confused by what it was seeing, confusion coloring its expression.
The reason it was so shocked was because this phenomenon should only be possible when Mana reached the perfection of the Dome of Heaven. Only Mana at that tier could possibly be so perfectly controlled and well-balanced.
The state this Mana was in currently was known as the cocoon state colloquially. It was the stage someone at the perfection of the Dome of Heaven reached with their Mana, a state that would allow them to forge their Core into a true Heaven of its own.
When Mana reached this state, it would form gravity of its own, beginning to show the characteristics of a molten world on the verge of formation.
It was no wonder this core of Dark Mana here could force the chaotic system of the Dark River into obedience. Technically, this was precisely an example of a stronger system acting on a weaker one and forcing it into a state of predictability.
All this said, while Theron didn't understand all of these little details, he had already deduced most of the gist of it. What he wanted wasn't information about all of this; what he really wanted to understand was how he could use it.
Although he had nine powerful treasures in hand, he still didn't understand the ins and outs of all of them, nor did he truly grasp their limits. He wasn't even sure if they were capable of controlling something so powerful now, and none of them had an obvious method of doing so even if they had been powerful enough.
The Mandate Core might be capable of it… but Theron decided not to take the chance for now since there was a safer path to take.
Although this Nightingale Ancestor was technically a danger to him, a powerhouse he had no ability to control, the fact it had revealed itself to be lacking in energy, not to mention its sacrificial spirit for the sake of the Nightingale bloodline, told Theron all he needed to take this chance.
"Something is wrong," the Nightingale Ancestor Bird said slowly. "For this to be here, it must mean that the real reason this planet hasn't produced any Dome of Heaven experts is because all of the Mana that should have otherwise formed it is concentrated here.
"This means that there's something about the geography of this planet that is causing this sheer mass of Mana to accumulate here instead of spreading out evenly over the planet. And that means…"
Theron's eyes flashed with realization, several geology books he had read earlier pulsing in his mind one after another as though illusory images layering atop one another in real time.
"There's a vein system here that mimics Meridians," Theron suddenly said.
The Nightingale Ancestor Bird's voice had trailed off, half because it was shocked, and half because it couldn't figure out how to say the words it wanted to in a short and succinct way.
But now it was truly floored.
Not only had Theron managed to do exactly that, but he had done it so flippantly and casually.
How could Theron figure something like that out from a few words when he didn't even recognize what this mass of Mana was in the first place?
"… Who are you?" the Nightingale Ancestor Bird asked pointedly. "Since I have awakened, I have been watching you in silence. You work hard, but you do not carry any other defining characteristics of the Nightingales. Your hair is not black, your skin is not pale enough, your aura is not dark enough."
"Doesn't that come with the territory of being a Dual Resonance Mancer?" Theron replied.
The Nightingale Ancestor Bird fell into silence when it heard this.
"… What is your name?"
"Theron Galethunder."
"Your last name is not Nightingale."
"No."
The Nightingale Ancestor Bird fell into silence for a long while and then seemed to decide to change the subject as though it had never come up.
"Indeed, you are correct. If I am correct, the true Grade of this world should be at the Perfect of the Dome of Heaven, not quite quasi of the next realm, and not having any imperfection.
"A world at this level is capable of forming a unique law of its own, and this one is… too perfect, in a way. Because it's too perfect, the Mana it forms is too stable and folds into itself here.
"This is only happening because the world is in a perfectly filled state. It's not lacking in the quality of the Dome of Heaven, and it's also not spilling over into the next realm.
"Worlds like this one are extremely rare, and even more difficult to find precisely because of this. They're usually so reserved and controlled in their Mana that they don't show any obvious outward signs that they are hiding a much greater secret, and even the locations where they do hide these secrets are incredibly difficult to reach.
"These worlds are known as Havens, places that are perfect for breaking through into the realms they represent. If you were at the Quasi Dome of Heaven Realm, you would have a 100% success rate of breaking through to the next realm by meditating here.
"Of course, only one person would be able to succeed. The act of breaking through here would throw off the perfect equilibrium and thus this Mana would disperse naturally throughout the world as it should.
"Though… with a special method, upon breaking through, it is possible to take this incredibly stable Mana and accelerate your pace through the realm.
"Meaning…"
"I could reach the pinnacle of the Dome of Heaven Realm in a single go if I broke through here?"
"Yes."
