Top-class Bodyguard

Chapter 49: The Allure of That Shot (Part 1)

In reality, Ren Feng didn't really make Fang Shaojie suffer; it was just a lesson, and after lying in the hospital for a while, he'd be fine.

Not long after getting off the train, Ren Feng appeared directly at Jiangnannan Station in Jiangnan City.

Jiangnan City has three train stations: Jiangnan Station, Jiangnanxi Station, and Jiangnannan Station. After all, for a major metropolis, there are many transportation hubs.

As he exited the station, Ren Feng was about to hail a taxi to the company, but at this moment, he noticed that something seemed wrong ahead, as a large number of police cars were parked in front, and a crowd of spectators stood at a distance, watching the commotion but not daring to get too close.

What's going on?

Feeling curious, Ren Feng walked over.

Upon getting closer, Ren Feng immediately understood what was happening.

In front were several police cars, with some officers hiding behind them, guns pointed at a bank ahead.

Additionally, many officers were on the side, instructing ordinary people to keep their distance.

A person resembling a police officer held a megaphone: "Listen up inside, you are surrounded! You have ten seconds to lay down your weapons and come out to surrender."

Seeing no response, the officer pressed the megaphone again: "Leniency for those who confess, severity for those who resist. Don't be stubborn. Prolonging this standoff will lead nowhere."

"Clang!"

Suddenly, a bullet shot out, hitting the officer's megaphone, narrowly missing him as it grazed past.

"Watch out, sir!"

The nearby officers immediately tackled the officer to the ground, seeking cover behind a police car.

From a distance, Ren Feng frowned. It seemed the robbers were extremely audacious.

"Sir, what do we do? The robbers inside aren't listening at all," an anxious officer beside him said.

"Don't panic." The officer took a deep breath, then pulled out a walkie-talkie: "Bai Xiaoyue, what's the situation on your end?"

"Reporting, sir, everything is in position, but the Flying Tiger Team's snipers are still on the way and need five more minutes!"

Bai Xiaoyue's voice came through the walkie-talkie.

"Stall for five more minutes!"

The officer gave a direct order.

Just then, an officer next to him became tense: "Sir, one of the robbers is coming out!"

The officer looked up and realized one of the robbers was holding a gun to a bank employee's head, half of his body exposed from the doorway.

"Stay calm. Tell everyone not to shoot."

The officer became instantly tense, trying to use the megaphone but realizing it was broken, he had no choice but to discard it.

"Stay calm, don't do anything rash!" the officer shouted loudly.

"Alright, you damn cops, I'm very calm right now." The robber's face twisted with a sneer, the stubble on his chin trembling, as he held the female employee with his left arm and pressed a gun to her temple with his right hand.

"Listen carefully, I'll only say my demands once! Within ten minutes, prepare a helicopter! Otherwise, you know the consequences," the robber said viciously.

"Ten minutes is not enough," the officer shouted.

"Don't play tricks with me. I know what you damn cops are up to," the robber said coldly. "If I don't see a helicopter in ten minutes, she's dead!"

After saying that, he tightened his grip on the gun, causing the female employee to scream in terror.

"Additionally, we have eighteen hostages. If we don't see a helicopter, one person will be killed every five minutes," the robber sneered.

After speaking, the robber cautiously maneuvered the female employee back into the bank.

"This is tricky."

The officer frowned.

Ren Feng narrowed his eyes slightly, then looked up, quickly locking onto a rooftop.

The rooftop wasn't high, but it was directly facing the bank. This meant if the police wanted to use snipers, they would definitely choose this location.

Moreover, Ren Feng spotted a few shadows.

With a slight smile, Ren Feng headed toward the rooftop.

"This area is off limits," a policeman said coldly.

"Police," Ren Feng flashed his police badge and quickly bypassed the officer.

The officer showed a hint of confusion in his eyes. Wait, why did that badge look so much like mine?

He glanced down to ensure his own badge was still there, growing even more puzzled.

Meanwhile, on the rooftop.

Though Bai Xiaoyue appeared calm, her eyes were filled with urgency.

"Why aren't they here yet?"

"Mr. Bai, the robber is holding a gun to a hostage, and there seems to be some conflict," a policeman observing with binoculars suddenly reported.

Bai Xiaoyue's heart sank; she grabbed the binoculars and looked, her heart sinking deeper.

If that's the case, a life might be lost before the snipers arrive.

For now, there was nothing else to do but keep waiting.

Bai Xiaoyue said, furrowing her brow in thought. Just then, a hand tapped her shoulder.

"Need some help?"

Bai Xiaoyue started and turned to see Ren Feng's smiling face.

"How did you get up here?" Bai Xiaoyue frowned, "I don't have time to mess around with you right now."

Ren Feng shrugged, "Maybe I can help."

"What help can you offer?" Bai Xiaoyue said seriously, "This isn't some party for fooling around."

Damn, does this girl really look down on me that much?

Ren Feng was extremely frustrated, and just then, Bai Xiaoyue's walkie-talkie buzzed.

"Mr. Bai, the Flying Tiger Team has arrived."

Bai Xiaoyue's eyes lit up, and sure enough, several special forces members came to the rooftop, carrying cases. They quickly opened the cases and assembled sniper rifles.

"Barrett M82A1!"

Seeing the sniper rifles, Ren Feng smiled slightly—wow, these are the famed 'king of sniper rifles.'

With the two snipers in position, Bai Xiaoyue picked up the walkie-talkie: "Team B in position, Team B in position."

"Received, wait for Team C to be in position."

Bai Xiaoyue took a deep breath, and the police officers around her grew more anxious, all except for Ren Feng, who stood on the rooftop as if he had nothing to do.

Meanwhile, various tense voices occasionally came through the walkie-talkie: "Demolition team in position, demolition team in position."

"Five minutes remain of the robbers' ten-minute deadline!"

"Team C in position, Team C in position."

"Team D in position, Team D in position."

Not long after, all units reported their readiness through the walkie-talkie.

Soon after, the walkie-talkie crackled with the officer's voice: "White Fish, Black Fish, ready!"

"White Fish received."

"Black Fish received."

The two snipers spoke, already finger on the trigger, with the dark muzzles aimed at the robbers' heads!

"3!"

"2!"

As the snipers counted down, everyone's hearts tensed, including Bai Xiaoyue and the rest of the police and Flying Tiger Team, when suddenly, White Fish's pupils contracted.
