The moment I beheaded Victor, the whole arena turned silent.
For almost ten seconds, not a single person could grasp what they had witnessed.
"HARBINGER OF THE DAWN—SIR LUCIFER MORNING STAR HAS BEHEADED THE SACRIFICE!"
Daniel roared, breaking the silence as his voice thundered to every corner of the stadium.
"Harbinger of the Dawn, Sir Lucifer Morning Star!!!" Edrick shouted, following Daniel.
"Harbinger of the Dawn, Sir Lucifer Morning Star!!!" the entire first floor thundered.
"Wh-what just happened?" the guards gathered in the arena murmured with gasps.
"Who the fuck is he!?" the man with the double-edged axe muttered, tightening his grip on the shaft before ordering, "Take all the slaves back to the mines this inst—"
"Vyaghra, Jambavan!!!" I commanded with a loud, deep voice. "Stop spacing out and execute your order!!!"
"Hahaha, you surely didn't disappoint me, Raj!" Vyaghra laughed, joining his hands with a loud clap.
In an instant, the shadows below the two watchmen and bodyguards engulfed them into the darkness.
"BRING THEM DOWN!!!" Jambavan roared on the other side, expanding his claws as he leapt at the confused guards.
The number of allies Jambavan had gathered was twelve.
However…
The slaves that blindly followed his command at that moment were over two thousand—the entire population of slaves in the Forlorn City mines.
There was no order or prior notice given to them by either me, Jambavan, or Vyaghra.
Their bodies moved instinctively, as if something had ignited within them.
"Vivi, return my body to normal."
"Initializing Host's request…"
"The internal lightning attacks are stopped. Host's body will return to normal soon."
"Haha, it feels so much better now that the annoying pain is gone."
"Now, it's time to smash these pests," I murmured, pointing my sword at the targets ascending from the shadows.
"Do you have any idea what you have done?" Theoran muttered, snapping the whip on the floor.
"Who sent you, boy?" the man with the double-edged axe demanded.
The two watchmen also came forward, and the four gathered in front of me.
"Ughh, just shut your mouth and come at me," I responded with irritation. "My shoulder fucking hurts."
My shoulder bone was bulging out of my skin, and the wounds on my back were stinging like a thousand bees, thinning my patience.
"Go and bring me his head," the man with the double-edged axe ordered the two watchmen.
"As you wish, Sir Jamie."
One of the watchmen drew dual discs embedded with sharp blades from his space ring, while the other moved forward barehanded.
"Show me what the watchmen of the Grade 1 and Grade 2 mines have got!"
I sprinted foreward and swung my sword horizontally toward the barehanded one.
Strangely, he didn't try to dodge the attack and let it come in.
My blade struck his belly, but instead of blood splattering, the blade began sinking into his body.
"Hahaha, my attribute is jelly," the Grade 2 watchman laughed. "You can't cut my body."
At the same instant, the other watchman bolted at me, his dual rings aiming at my stuck arm.
"Lightning Bolt!"
A concentrated sphere of golden lightning emerged on my hand and struck against the rings, creating a screeching sound inside the cage.
The impact hurled him backward, and I immediately pulled my sword from the belly of the other one.
"You can't escape from me that easily!"
The watchman with the jelly body jumped at me, and the moment his hand touched me, a sticky substance emerged from the contact and began spreading around my skin.
"I will suffocate you to death," he announced, as the jelly spread over my face.
"Hahaha, die and become my road to promotion!"
I twisted the wrist, holding the sword, the end of the blade pointing at the ground, and swung it upward in a vertical motion.
"Lightning Slash!"
"I already told you sharp weapons won't… work on me?"
Before he could realise, the intense lightning blade severed his body into two symmetrical parts, each falling on either side of me.
"Y-you monster!" the other watchman stammered, his steps shaking.
I was already tired and irritated from their torture of the past two weeks. I wanted to end it quickly and get some rest.
"Blink."
In an instant, I reached the watchman's back and stabbed my sword into his heart.
Ghlk...
Blood seeped past his trembling lips.
As his soulless body was falling, I immediately ducked low and took a few steps backward, sensing something coming from behind.
Jamie had swung his massive axe in a horizontal arc, but the only thing he managed to cut was air.
"Tsk, useless bastards! Couldn't even kill a man whose one foot is already in the grave," he muttered, joining the battle along with Theoran.
"Do you wanna have a piece of this dying man?" I replied, my sword pointing at him.
The two of them moved in opposite directions, with me standing between them.
"You will pay for what you did to Lord Victor!" Theoran growled as they both bolted at me.
"Vivi, activate Eyes of the Fallen."
"Initialising Host's request..."
"Eyes of the Fallen activated!!"
Theoran's feral whip came from behind while Jamie lunged into the air before descending, his massive axe clutched with both hands.
"Blink."
With a trail of golden lightning, I dodged their attack, landed a sharp kick on Theoran's neck, and struck Jamie's blade with Lightning Bolt, wrenching the weapon out of his hand.
Surprisingly, that didn't flinch him one bit.
He continued his violent descent, his hands closed into fists, coming for my broken shoulder.
Tang...
Vajra met his hand, blocking his attack as our eyes glared into each other's.
"You are stronger than Victor, aren't you?" I asked, my face carrying a faint smile.
Before I could hear his reply, Theoran, tearing the air with a snapping sound, launched his whip at me from the other side.
I instantly moved my other hand, ignoring all the pain in my shoulder, and caught the mouth of the incoming serpent.
At the same time, Jamie clutched the blade with his hands, moved closer, and declared with a wide smirk on his face, "Don't compare me to a weakling like Victor."
