Isekai Dungeon Architect

Chapter 66: The promise

Reddy was smiling at Aria as the two spent their time peacefully in the presence of the little eye that went around the sky like a bird, flying high and looking at the city with her eternal curiosity.

Aria focused her attention on the lady before her, not drifting into the pleasurable scenes that were shown through the feathered eye in the sky.

Their chat continued for a while, both of them talking about their experiences of the past few days, with Aria confirming what their party members had reported to her, followed by the long list of questions from the guard captain.

The chat wasn't much of an interrogation, though. Even though it was her first time hearing about the many other powers Aria never mentioned to Reddy, the alchemist was worried about the girl she had found hanging by a thread at the edge of the forest.

"If you were that strong, just how did you get in such bad shape when I found you? Is there something we should be concerned about in the forest?"

Riddle had to use a precious potion to save Aria, but there wasn't really any need to do so. Even though she was only running away to reach the civilisation before she was hunted by the monsters of the forest, she had exhausted herself considerably.

The fight with the wolves was not the only thing that held her back; there were a lot more variables that she could not even remember anymore. She was saved by Reddy just in time, but even if she weren't there, Aria would have somehow made it to the city… just like it was supposed to happen.

"There's nothing too dangerous out there, dummy. I don't know if there is a danger there that you'd need to be concerned about, but I didn't really hide much from you.

To tell you the truth, it was my first time leveling up inside the dungeon back then, and my stats aren't suited for combat to begin with."

This new information that no one around her knew until now stunned Reddy. "You leveled up for the first time? Are you saying… you're (Level-2) right now?"

It was surprising.

It was bound to be surprising since the powers she had shown until now would not make any sense for someone who had not even leveled up until that point.

"I am, but please keep it to yourself if you can. You see, my class isn't a combat class. The association gave me the support class and support role, which defines the best for me."

As a dungeon architect, she was a support class. Her skills weren't related to combat directly, and that was also the reason she was neither a combat unit nor a frontliner. She was there to support the others. That was also the best way she could use her unique skills for the others.

"I don't know if you'd believe me or not, but I have lived a very different life, in a very different place compared to this one.

The whole status window, skills, stats, magic, all these things around me are as new to me as the world outside of their house is for a toddler." Aria was a little troubled as she said those words.

She knew it wasn't that big a deal for the people of this world to come across someone from a different world. She had read in the black guide that the 'otherworlders' had existed in this world for a long time.

There were people summoned by the royal families of the different kingdoms, there were those who reincarnated in this world and retained the memories of their past lives, and there were also those who fell into this world after crossing over the walls of spacetime.

There weren't many like them in this world, so meeting one wasn't that simple a task, but those in power knew about them, or maybe they had even met them or had one like them in their ranks.

Just like in any of the isekai, those with the connection to a different world brought with them the knowledge and stories of their world.

The title <Otherworlder> was granted to them all with abilities that manifested individually to each one of them.

They were all granted access to the languages of this world, but the way they understood or learned them varied slightly.

The people who came from a different world always possessed a unique skill or power special to them. Some were granted special Classes like <Gamer>, <Player>, <Hero>, or a <Unique> class that was one of a kind.

Aria was no exception to the powers granted to her.

She was given a class and a skill of her choice for a quicker, safer, and more accurate world integration.

But then again, just like how there were people or beings from the other world who were integrated into the world system, there were those who opposed the order of the world, going against the very will of the world for the sake of their own beliefs.

These people were called <Anomalies>. And, most of those who possessed the title of an Anomaly were hunted by the [Apostles] of the system and the world on every scale possible.

"I see…" Reddy had looked at Aria for a long moment, in her green, troubled eyes, and after confirming she was actually burdened right now, Reddy sighed weakly.

She didn't push the matter further; she didn't ask any more questions either. If it was the woman she knew, she knew Aria would get back on her feet quickly and keep going like she always had.

"Don't worry about the past too much. I'm here now, am I not? You can lean on me whenever you want, and I'll do whatever I can to help you when you need it."

She had no idea why she wanted to help someone she knew so little about, but… it was Aria she was smiling at right now.

"I should be the one saying that…" Aria could only sigh under her breath as she observed Riddle's bright expression.

"I know you'd be there, even if it's a little late. But I'll call for you when I need you, hehe."

Riddle believed her.

That much was what Aria had aimed for from the start: trust of someone like Reddy.

"I might not know if you're in trouble, so I'll have to find a way to know when you're in trouble. Are there any items-."

"Qwy~!"

As if to have sensed the wish of her creator, Qwy suddenly dived down with a scream that both the ladies heard.

"Hmm?" As they watched, the feathered eyeball reached them from a distance afar and hovered right before the two.

"Qwy~!"

-Ooooooooooooong!

Then, as if using a skill, the eyeball gathered the surrounding energy by using her own and created a thread of energy that attracted attention from her surroundings.

-Zaaaaa…

A thread was formed, initially white in color. The thread's two ends stretched out and connected themselves with the hearts of the two ladies, slowly turning red from both ends.

"What…"

"What are you doing, Qwy???"

When the two reds merged, the red thread vanished, and along with it vanished the bright light and whatever Mana fluctuations had happened in the surroundings.

"Qwy~!"

The little bird had accomplished her mission.

And so, she chirped cheerfully like a child who had succeeded in helping her mother for the first time in a long time.
