The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 67 I Didn't Mean to

"The recovery is a bit worse than I expected," Luo Ziling's face turned red as he seriously examined the wound, whispering to Lin Lan, "You left in such a rush, I didn't have time to instruct you on some follow-up measures, and I didn't give you the medicine."

"Do I need further treatment?" Lin Lan asked, her voice just as soft.

"Will you take me back later?"

Lin Lan nodded.

"I'll make up a bottle of medicine for you when I go back to my dorm. Apply it to the wound every day to help the scar fade." Luo Ziling was somewhat embarrassed, "I was in such a hurry coming here, I didn't bring that kind of medicine."

"Okay!" Lin Lan nodded and then asked Luo Ziling, "Should we check the wound on your leg as well?"

"If it's the same as this one, then there's no need," Luo Ziling pointed to the long scar running from Lin Lan's left breast up to her shoulder blade, "When you got injured, I actually wanted to help you remove this scar."

"Really?" Lin Lan's face showed an irrepressible delight.

"Yes," Luo Ziling nodded.

"Then please treat it for me, consider it another favor I owe you."

"No problem!"

"Please treat it now," Lin Lan said, letting go of the hand that covered her chest, and stood before Luo Ziling with open sincerity.

Luo Ziling found himself blushing again, once more at a loss.

Seeing Luo Ziling's flushed face and apparent confusion, Lin Lan actually felt relieved.

This is the true nature of a pure man, to blush and fluster at the sight of a woman's body.

Anyway, he had already seen it many times before, one more glance today wouldn't hurt—this was her current train of thought.

So she was even more composed than Luo Ziling.

"Can it be removed?" Lin Lan proactively asked.

"May I touch it?" Luo Ziling bravely requested, then quickly added, "To check the scar."

Lin Lan nodded without hesitation. It was a reasonable request. She would have been annoyed if Luo Ziling had made assumptions without examining it.

Luo Ziling extended a slightly trembling finger, brushing over the scar as thick as a finger on Lin Lan's collarbone, and gently asked, "Does it hurt?"

Lin Lan was taken aback for a moment, quickly shaking her head: "No, it doesn't hurt!"

"I mean, when you got injured."

Lin Lan was silent for a bit, then softly added, "It hurt! But it's in the past now!"

"Who was so cruel to cut you here?" Luo Ziling's fingertip trembled slightly.

"It wasn't on purpose," Luo Ziling's face reddened with embarrassment, as though he was the one being taken advantage of by Lin Lan.

He hurriedly reached for the bag he brought, but after fumbling around, he realized in dismay that he had forgotten to bring the scar removal medicine.

Truth be told, he had already mentioned to Lin Lan that when he went back, he would make up some diluted medicine for her to apply to the wound, but in his nervousness, he had forgotten this. Besides, it wasn't he who had asked Lin Lan to take off her clothes, it was she who had voluntarily undressed for him to check.

Comforted by this thought, he felt slightly more at ease, "Uh, I forgot to bring the medicine!"

Lin Lan's demeanor instantly cooled, she gave Luo Ziling a fierce glance, then turned swiftly, putting on her bra and leather jacket without facing him. Once dressed, she walked out without saying a word to Luo Ziling.

Luo Ziling hesitated for a moment, then hurriedly followed her.

Lin Lan never looked back, walking straight to the Humvee parked outside.

Luo Ziling followed behind like a wronged little wife, his heart heavy with despondency.

When the two emerged from the house, they encountered a few dark-faced men.

Without asking, Luo Ziling knew that these stern-faced men must be soldiers, just like Lin Lan.

He curiously gazed at them, but they ignored him, which deepened his gloom.

"How did it go?" Two ferocious-looking men approached Lin Lan and asked in a low voice.

Lin Lan looked at Luo Ziling following behind her with a blank expression, hesitated, then replied, "There's hope for healing. The chief treats him well; no one else has ever been given such treatment."

Lin Lan's words surprised the two men, and their look towards Luo Ziling changed.

This made Luo Ziling feel a bit better, and he couldn't help but show a shy smile.

Without saying much more, the men left.

Lin Lan opened the car door and got directly into the driver's seat.

Luo Ziling hesitated a moment, but ultimately climbed into the passenger seat.

"I didn't mean to!" Luo Ziling said nervously, looking at the silent Lin Lan, "I really didn't want to see your body."

"I know you didn't mean to," Lin Lan started the car and pressed down hard on the accelerator, speeding away swiftly, which startled Luo Ziling before she continued, "Anyway, you're a doctor. In your eyes, there's no difference between men and women."

"I will definitely help you remove all the scars," Luo Ziling stated firmly as if to express his apology: "Come over tomorrow, and I'll treat you, okay?"

Lin Lan didn't respond, just nodded slightly.

Seeing her nod, Luo Ziling breathed a sigh of relief.
