I Made The World Mutate

Chapter 384: Blood-stained Sleeve_2

"Mr. Xiao."

Stone Soul added: "The Fifth Realm demon I am referring to includes demons strong enough to stand at the peak of the Fifth Realm, you mustn't underestimate this."

The Fifth Realm?

And it's the peak?

Xiao Mu looked distressed!

This situation seems to be getting out of hand!

He stood no chance against a formidable demon at the early stage of the Fifth Realm and he was expected to face a demon at the peak of the Fifth Realm?

He reached out to touch the black triangular mark on his forehead.

Though the mark was vivid, it hardly had any effect on him. Unless one deliberately sensed it or looked in the mirror, one would not know that such a mark existed on their forehead.

After thinking for a moment, Xiao Mu asked, "Is there any way to remove the Demonic Curse Mark?"

"This..."

Stone Soul was stumped by the question, thought for a while and said: "The higher-ups of the Alliance may know how to remove the Curse Mark, we could go back and ask."

Given your achievement in sniping the True Realm demon and preventing it from entering the Mortal Realm, the Alliance should try to remove the curse mark for you. Mr. Xiao, you need not worry too much."

"Oh!"

Xiao Mu felt somewhat relieved.

If it weren't for Stone Soul's reminder, he would have forgotten that he had successfully sniped the True Realm demon and prevented it from entering the Mortal Realm, which was a significant merit.

Though nearly all the members of his team had perished in this task, leaving only him and Stone Soul, what did those losses matter when compared to the merit of stopping a True Realm demon from invading the Mortal Realm?

A single True Realm demon, even if it was just an illusionary palm, could cause unimaginable damage if it were to enter the Mortal Realm.

He then turned to the direction of the dimensional spatial channel.

The Illusionary Palm had been destroyed, and the Door-God Painting had returned to its original state, with its divine aura hidden.

Xiao Mu approached it, reached out, and took down the Door-God Painting, storing it in the Earth Seal Space.

"This is..."

In the dimensional spatial channel, something had been left behind after the Illusionary Palm was destroyed. As soon as Xiao Mu took down the Door-God Painting, that thing immediately fell out of the dimensional spatial channel and landed in the Mortal Realm.

Xiao Mu reached out and picked it up - it was a torn white sleeve.

The sleeve bore sword marks and a few faint bloodstains.

"Could it be that the Demon-descending Sword managed to hit the Illusionary Palm and eventually wounded the True Realm demon? This sleeve is real, are the bloodstains on it left by the True Realm demon?"

Incredulous, Xiao Mu picked up the torn sleeve with a sense of shock.

The torn sleeve was constantly emitting a dreadful power––a clear hint it was imbued with the aura of a True Realm being.

Even in death, a tiger's power is still present!

Even if the True Realm being was not physically present, his torn sleeve still held terrifying power, causing one to shudder.

"Is this left by that True Realm demon?"

Stone Soul leaned in, looked at the torn sleeve in Xiao Mu's hand, and reacting with a mix of shock and delight, he exclaimed excitedly.

"It should be!"

Xiao Mu nodded.

This sleeve could not have been left by anyone other than that True Realm demon.

"What a pity, only a piece of sleeve is left, no treasure or anything."

Xiao Mu sighed with regret.

If a treasure or something had been left behind, that would have been great.

He didn't ask for much, an ordinary treasure would suffice.

This piece of sleeve, he had no idea what purpose it would serve, it felt like a useless object.

"Just a piece of sleeve?"

Stone Soul screamed in astonishment, his odd expression showing that he felt Xiao Mu was being too greedy, and exclaimed, "Mr. Xiao, this a sleeve of a True Realm being, stained with the aura of a True Realm being."

"Do you know what this piece of sleeve means for the Fifth Realm +beings?"

Xiao Mu was puzzled and asked, "Does this ordinary piece of sleeve have value?"

"Value?"

Stone Soul made a strange noise, looked at Xiao Mu as if he is a blockhead, and said, "Mr. Xiao, our Realm is still low, we can't appreciate the value of this piece of sleeve."

"But for those in the Fifth Realm, the remnants of the aura of a True Realm being on this piece of sleeve can help them in breaking through to the True Realm, and even let them get a glimpse of some of the mysteries of the True Realm in advance. Do you think this piece of sleeve is invaluable?"

"It serves such a function?"

Xiao Mu was taken aback by this.

He then thought about the giant finger he had obtained before.

The Giant Finger also came from the True Realm World and was infused with the breath of the strong beings from the True Realm World.

It was this Giant Finger that earned him an audience with the Commander of the Fifth Realm, and won him a reward.

It seemed that anything from the True Realm World, no matter how insignificant, held tremendous value.

"Of course."

Stone Soul looked a little excited, "Mr. Xiao, let's get back. Killing demons, taking out real-world strong beings, acquiring sleeves dripping with real-world strong beings' blood, these accomplishments will all be rewarded by the Alliance."

"Even if the demonic curse mark is challenging to break, you can use this sleeve as a bargaining chip and request the Fifth Realm warriors to break the curse for you."

"You're right. Once I return to the Alliance and complete the mission, I'll look for the warriors in the Fifth Realm for their help."

Hearing this, Xiao Mu felt much relieved. He gathered his belongings and went back to Broken Truth Mountain with Stone Soul.

Tracking the same path back, a few days later, both of them had reached the Miscellaneous Affairs Hall on Broken Truth Mountain.

There were quite a few people gathered in the hall, with more coming in constantly.

Many people were injured, and many faces wore the color of grief.

"This fixed Alliance task isn't only for us. Others are doing it, too. People die in every task. With time, you get used to it."

Stone Soul whispered this to Xiao Mu.

Xiao Mu nodded solemnly.

The fixed tasks by the Alliance were neither difficult nor easy but required luck.

If you're lucky, the demon you encounter will be weak. The risk of death drops significantly, and everyone surviving is not out of the question, much like when Stone Soul previously entered the Demon Secret Realm.

If you're unlucky, your entire team may perish, just like when they had faced a real world demon in the Demon Secret Realm.

When you encounter a real-world demon, the outcome is usually a complete annihilation.

Had the real world demon not been careless and given Xiao Mu an opportunity, allowing him to escape out of the dimensional space, and just by chance, possess a Door-God painting which helped him seal off the exit of the dimensional space and target the illusionary palm of the real-world demon, Xiao Mu's team, too, would have succumbed to certain death.

Mutated beings who had completed their tasks were standing in a line, moving forward one by one, submitting their identity badges to the Miscellaneous Affairs Hall receptionists.

The receptionists used special equipment to log the number of demons each person had slain through their identity badge and awarded correspondingly.

On an average, killing one demon from the early stage of the Fourth Realm would earn you ten energy fruits.

A mid-term demon, twenty energy fruits.

A late-stage demon, thirty energy fruits, and a peak demon would earn you forty.

"Mr Gou, has slain an early-stage demon and has thus been rewarded ten energy fruits."

"Sir Ji, has slain an early-stage demon and has thus been rewarded ten energy fruits."

...

The staff recorded the reward count on the identity badge. The bearer can later claim the rewards using this badge.

"Xiao Mu?"

Suddenly, a chilling voice with a strong killing intent sounded next to Xiao Mu.

Xiao Mu was startled and turned to look.

A strong man with horns on his head stood across him, his eyes fixed on Xiao Mu, brimming with murderous intent.

"You are..."

Xiao Mu paused, he didn't remember offending such a man.

However, he soon recalled something, "You're Niu Mang?"

"Humph!"

The large man gave a smirk. His icy gaze swept over Xiao Mu as if looking at a dead man, "So you do know me, it seems, Ma Ming really met his end at your hand."

"Xiao Mu, you better not leave the mountain, or I swear, I'll kill you in revenge for Ma Ming."

After saying this, without waiting for Xiao Mu's reply, he cast a few more deeper glances as if to remember him, and turned away.

Xiao Mu's face darkened, he didn't expect Niu Mang to have found him so soon.

He had killed Ma Ming secretly, thinking that it would take some time for anyone to suspect his involvement, but Niu Mang had traced him sooner than expected.

"Mr Xiao, do you know Niu Mang? What did he say?"

Stone Soul who was standing next to Xiao Mu asked curiously.

Xiao Mu shook his head without answering.

He didn't wanted to let many people know about his grudge with Niu Mang.

"Stone Soul!"

A lean man with green face and long fangs appeared in front of Xiao Mu and Stone Soul. His face was grim as he asked Stone Soul, "Where is my brother Xiao? You have returned, so why hasn't he? Speak! Did you harm him?"
