I Made The World Mutate

Chapter 305: Information on Ruins

This was a man in his fifties, likely a martial artist, with a power level in the early stages of the third realm.

Given the current state of the world mutation, his power isn't high, but it isn't too bad either.

Curious, Xiao Mu stopped to ask, "Do you also sell information? Do you have any on Taoist ancient relics or ruins?"

At Xiao Mu's words, the man's eyes lit up with joy. "Are you looking for Taoist temple ruins?"

Spotting the man's reaction, Xiao Mu's heart skipped a beat, "Do you know of any Taoist temple ruins?"

"What a coincidence," the man laughed. "If you had asked me just an hour ago, I wouldn't have been able to provide any information on Taoist temple ruins."

"Just a while ago, a friend of mine who was exploring Ghost Mountain sent me a message. He found some ruins and based on what he discovered, he is almost certain it's a Taoist temple site."

"There are indeed Taoist temple ruins?"

Xiao Mu was taken aback, hastily masking his excitement, "Do you know roughly how old these ruins are?"

A ruin site of too recent an origin wouldn't likely house any ancient treasures, so Xiao Mu's aim was to find a Taoist temple site with some age to it, preferably over three hundred years old.

"I'm not too sure about that."

The man paused, clearly not expecting Xiao Mu to ask such a question. He took out his cellphone, "If you really want to know, let me ask my friend."

"Thank you!"

Xiao Mu thanked him, and the man replied politely while swiftly sending a message from his phone. Shortly after, he received a reply.

The man stated, "According to my friend's discoveries on site, the Taoist temple ruins should date back to the late Ming dynasty."

"Ming dynasty? Late Ming dynasty?"

Upon hearing that the ruins were from the Ming dynasty, Xiao Mu knew without a doubt that they fit his requirements.

After all, even the end of the Ming dynasty is over three hundred years ago.

Artifacts from such a site, even the most common ones, will meet Xiao Mu's requirements due to their age.

"I want to know the location of these ruins, name your price."

Xiao Mu quickly made a decision, asking for the price.

After brief consideration, the man stated his price: "Thirty grams of energy crystal, and I'll guide you there if we leave in three hours. If you offer an energy fruit or three hundred grams of energy crystal, I'll sell this information exclusively to you."

Thirty grams of energy crystals would require killing fifteen Evil Ghosts or six Green Blood Demons to obtain.

This price wasn't too high for Xiao Mu, it was within his means. However, if converted to money, the value of thirty grams of energy crystals would easily exceed a million yuan.

A million yuan for a piece of information might seem pricey.

But bear in mind that for information explorers, venturing into the depths of dangerous mountains comes with considerable risk. They could encounter evil absurdities at any point and face the threat of death at every turn.

The man risking his life to gather information justifies the high price he charges. As for the conversion ratio of energy fruit to energy crystal, the current rate is one to three hundred.

However, Xiao Mu felt the price was rather steep, requiring an energy fruit to be given up for exclusive rights to the information. The authenticity of the ruins was yet to be determined, and asking him to give up an energy fruit seemed unreasonable.

Xiao Mu didn't intend to pay such a price.

"Fair enough, wait a moment, I'll go sell something and be right back."

Xiao Mu agreed, and they exchanged contact information.

The man introduced himself as Luo Junming, likely his real name.

As the world mutation continues, most people opt to use their real names instead of codenames due to the increasingly public nature of information. Using their real names tends to inspire more trust.

After Xiao Mu stated his name for Luo Junming to record, Luo Junming then updated the information on his stand:

Guide available, heading to a Taoist temple site from Late Ming Dynasty in three hours, guide fee thirty grams of energy crystal, hurry if interested.

Having a glance, Xiao Mu swiftly walked away.

The information Luo Junming sells can generally only be sold once. After a single sale, the info spreads quickly and with many people knowing, it can't be sold again.

If Xiao Mu wasn't willing to secure exclusive rights, Luo Junming reselling the information to multiple people was also reasonable, and Xiao Mu didn't mind.

He found a worker and rented a stand.

The rental price for a stand was five grams of energy crystals a day, equivalent to defeating a single Green Blood Demon.

This fee was clearly steep for most people.

Nevertheless, considering the safety provided by the trade market, Xiao Mu felt the cost was worth it, though only when there were goods to sell, otherwise it's best not to trade here.

Xiao Mu quickly got used to how the stand worked. He inputted the details of his item for sale into a computer, and soon the information was displayed on an electronic screen:

Selling Buddhist Secret Scrolls, Jade Buddha Technique, for Taoist ancient relics or an energy fruit

The Jade Buddha Technique, although not a top-tier Buddhist cultivation method, it is considered above average among all the Buddhist techniques. It falls into the same category as Xiao Mu's "Xuanmen Zhenggang", although the latter holds supreme quality.

The value of this moderately high-quality secret manual is roughly the same as an energy fruit.

As the world mutation deepens, prices are beginning to stabilize. The prices of top-notch secret manuals are on the rise, while the rate of low-grade ones is repeatedly falling.

Even so, due to the scarcity of secret manuals compared to the population, their prices are not firmly fixed. Often, it depends on the demand of the individual traders.

As for Buddhist secret manuals of such rarity, it didn't take long for them to draw the attention of many.

Many mutated beings stopped by Xiao Mu's stand.

A middle-aged man broke into a smile, "The Jade Buddha Technique! I've heard of this cultivation method. It's said that once mastered, it can repel all evil. Friend, how are you selling it?"

Xiao Mu pointed casually at the screen above his stall, "It's for trade with Taoist ancient objects over three hundred years old. Or an energy fruit."

"Do you accept martial arts secret manuals? I have a Lightning Fast Sword secret manual."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Mu couldn't help but glare at the man.

"Lightning Fast Sword"? Just by hearing the name, it was obvious it was at most a middle-grade martial arts secret manual. Was he really trying to exchange that for his high-grade Buddhist cultivation method, Jade Buddha Technique? What a joke!

"What do you think?"

Xiao Mu shot back, not even bothering to respond.

"Ha...Ha..."

The man gave a sheepish laugh and said, "Look for me when you're willing to exchange," before walking away.

Just a few steps away, however, the man turned back around, gave another glance at the electronic screen above Xiao Mu's stand and asked in surprise, "Even Taoist ancient artifacts over three hundred years old can be exchanged?"

"Do you have any?"

Xiao Mu was taken aback.

What did the man mean with that question?
