Pillar of Yita

Chapter 196: Cybernetics_2

The Ancient Monarch Hunter's longsword descended in a slash.

It was like a pale, fierce flame, straight and powerful, falling downward.

The sword light reflected in the depths of Silver Weslan's eyes made everyone involuntarily hold their breath. In a single stroke, the Walker stepped forward to block, crossing his two swords, time seeming to freeze at that moment. All three blades collided, the edges rippling with visible tremors.

The ripples slowly traveled from front to back, and it was as if people could see six invisible lines extending from Fang Hong's hands—each carrying different languages and reasonings, wrist joint dissipating force, elbow joint folding, center of gravity leaning back—they seemed to see a bright spark flashing from the Core Crystal, the great force pushing the Sword Bearer back nearly a foot, but its four legs simultaneously shifted stance, dragging a deep furrow in the ground.

After one sword strike, the Ancient Monarch Hunter and the two Sword Bearers passed by each other, and Fang Hong flashed, seizing the moment to run in a different direction.

He needed to always maintain a straight line relative to the enemy, himself, and the Flexible Construct.

And while people ignored this, their minds were repeatedly recalling that previous breathtaking sight—

"Blocked it?"

A common thought arose in everyone's heart.

It was incredibly bold, mad, and exaggerated, yet it was truly happening before their eyes, like an absurd reality.

"But how did he block it?"

People couldn't help but wonder.

No answer—

Only Sophie, silent, calmly raised her hand, opened the Summoners System interface, drawing a square in the air with her finger, framing this scene within the box. Seeing this, others came to their senses and belatedly opened the Summoners System.

Encountered a ghost!

That was what everyone was thinking.

What came to their minds was Loofah's first known battle in Alcas, that breathtaking genius, who started her legendary journey from there. Although the location and time had changed, they were experiencing what seemed like a repeat of history. Strikingly similar, yet different.

The difference lay in the protagonist of the moment.

Yet no one felt envious, because in this vast starry sky, they also had the right to be among the myriad of stars; thus, all that remained was a genuine appreciation and a sense of honored witness to history.

"You know," the Priest from Milaila said softly, "at times like this, those strange and extraordinary geniuses appear out of the ground."

The others understood that he was referring to the defeat in the Murky Domain, evoking memories of the bygone era of dynasties.

"I thought this era no longer had soil for them."

"That move just now?"

All looked at one another, still shaken, shaking their heads.

Who could understand it?

Maybe only Sophie, a profound light passing through her eyes.

Fang Hong was running towards the other side. With a backward gesture, the two Sword Bearers moved to block the Ancient Monarch Hunter's path on both sides. At that moment, the thin blades in the Sword Bearer's hands gleamed bright as Magic Power began to form a pattern, indicating that the Core Crystal was fully powered up, and the Main Magic Furnace had entered Overload.

By then, he no longer needed to consider anything else.

Not far away, the Ancient Monarch Hunter slowly stopped and turned around. Although headless, Fang Hong distinctly felt a gaze falling on him.

The gaze was calm and icy yet carried the mad resentment of this ancient king.

It raised the pale blade in its hand once again, the blade bending with a dim glow. It yanked the chain, and the Dream Nightmare Warhorse rose on its hind legs. As it landed, it once again charged in this direction. For a moment, Fang Hong saw only a continuous sword shadow advancing before him. He knew the previous strike was just a probe, but this one—

was the real beheading technique.

A skill commonly seen among Heavy Cavalry monsters.

Of course, coming from a BOSS, it was somewhat different. The Ancient Monarch Hunter seemed like a straight bolt of black lightning when it sprinted. Its cloak spread like the wings of a bat. As it passed by, it left a whirlwind in its wake, whipping dust into the air.

Fang Hong had to turn around, stop, and swipe hands from left to right, redirecting the Core Crystal's Magic Power Output to another Sword Bearer, like a thousand strands of spider silk. When it connected to the other Sword Bearer, that Sword Bearer immediately sprang into action.

The sword light in the Ancient Monarch Hunter's hand flashed.

The Sword Bearer withdrew their sword for a block, an ear-piercing tremble sounded as the Undead's pale sword passed by, snapping the blade of the Sword Bearer's right hand, sending it flying high into the air. Yet even so, at the final moment, it contracted backward, getting blown away by the warhorse in the best possible posture to shed the force of the impact.

Fang Hong took control with his left hand.

Midair, the Sword Bearer turned, originally heading towards a towering stalagmite column not far away, but after changing posture, its four legs lightly tapped the column, leaping forward like a wolf spider and landing firmly on the ground.

It appeared slightly disheveled after losing an arm.

But Fang Hong had no time to frown, his right hand released a line of magic power, simultaneously sending another Sword Bearer to attack.

The Ancient Monarch Hunter had already changed direction, yet faced with another Sword Bearer flying at him from the other side, it had no choice but to tighten the reins and with a horizontal slash of the sword across the horse's body struck at the Walker. A bright flame blazed from the pale sword in its hand, swinging around like a long whip.

The Blazing Sword.

Indeed, it was of the Knight series.

Fang Hong had anticipated this move and had the Walker sink downwards, its four legs spreading out like doing the splits, letting the sword sweep over its head. But the BOSS's momentum wasn't over yet; a horizontal slice followed, and the warhorse beneath it immediately lunged forward.

These were all basic maneuvers of the Knight series, yet among the Summoners, only a few could achieve such a seamless unity with their mount.

Seeing this, Fang Hong, without a second thought, stacked his left hand on top of the right and with a bang, shot out a Flying Fist. The Ancient Monarch Hunter instinctively pulled on the reins to dodge the fist while also missing its charge.

A few dizzyingly rapid exchanges astonished everyone watching.

The people of Silver Weslan could also tell that the Rocket Fist was a Flexible Construct, feeling somewhat thrown off by the realization—this guy's already controlling two Sword Bearers, could he possibly control even more?

Even the calm Sophie couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

But it wasn't over yet.

Only then did the crowd notice that Fang Hong's earlier positioning had placed the Ancient Monarch Hunter and the previous stalagmite column in a straight line. After the Rocket Fist passed by the latter, its direction of impact was obvious. Fang Hong clenched his hand, a spray of stone chips flew, and he firmly grasped one of the stalactites.

With a light click—

He then raised his head.

He cried out in a low voice, "Pull!"

Inside the arm armor, a low buzzing sound emanated, and a massive force instantly pulled Fang Hong off the ground and towards the ancient king on horseback. But the latter, being somewhat of a BOSS accustomed to tough situations, once again changed direction, raising the pale blade high to stab at Fang Hong, now airborne.

The scene looked as if Fang Hong was throwing himself onto the sword.

"A mistake?"

That thought flashed through everyone's minds, and they weren't exactly novices, but Fang Hong's combat style was just somewhat unthinkable.

Yet Fang Hong did something even more inconceivable; he released his glove in mid-air, the rocket gauntlet flying back to hit the BOSS head-on, grabbing its shoulder and yanking it forward. Perhaps that strength wasn't enough to bring the ancient ruler off his mount, but at that moment, a shadow collided into it from behind.

It was the aforementioned Sword Bearer.

A heavy clang sounded as the Undead Monarch fell off his horse while, at the same time, Fang Hong flew forward to land nearby, tumbling onto the ground in a heap, both figures getting up clumsily.

But clearly, Fang Hong was faster.

Because not only was he unburdened by a heavy suit of armor, he was also simultaneously directing the Sword Bearer to continue harassing the Ancient Monarch Hunter.

The people of Silver Weslan were simply dumbfounded.

Any Combat Artisan they'd seen required a calm environment to concentrate on controlling their Flexible Constructs. None fought mid-air while still managing their Sword Bearers to stress the enemy.

Of course—

There were exceptions, such a Combat Artisan was called the Supreme One.

But a goddamn Supreme One at Level 15 could manage Dual Control of Sword Bearers, and they weren't fools; they'd never seen what a Supreme One was capable of.

What the hell was all this?
