Chapter 165: New Member An Emotionless Assassin_2

Divine-Demon Lineage Invokers are actually quite common, especially among spellcasters.

But Divine-Demon Lineage doesn't confer any special auditory abilities, does it?

The youth replied, "You had a look at my Magic Guided Reactor earlier, so you're mostly asking about that, I guess."

Well, you're at least a qualified assassin, Fang Hong thought. A good assassin must be adept at judging the situation, and at least in terms of observation, the other party seemed to have graduated.

Apart from sending this youth over, Grant really didn't have much else to do. He briefly discussed the upcoming plans with him, which weren't much different from what Lonely White Field had told him previously, though there were some additional details.

The youth was Level 8, a Level 5 Magic Guided Conductor and Level 5 warrior, along with some ranger experience. Since the experience required for each level in the Summoners System was non-linearly incremental, the total level of his three professional experience paths barely equaled Fang Hong's.

This discovery greatly pleased Fang Hong. Although he was nominally the captain of this adventure group, aside from a few trainees who were temporary members, almost no one was of a lower level than him. Although the captain of an adventure group didn't necessarily need to be the highest level, it wouldn't look good if it was too low, but now he finally had a real 'member.'

Even though this 'member,' like Prince Tainaric, was also likely to be a short-term temporary addition.

However, the other party didn't seem to see it that way.

As soon as Grat left, the youth eagerly challenged Fang Hong—his gaze finally moved away from Mr. Greyrock, he pulled down his hat brim, then asked, "Does this mean I've joined your adventure group?"

Fang Hong nodded, looking at the other party with some confusion, thinking wasn't that obvious?

"Well, then," Xiangzi said, "I want to challenge you."

"What did you say?"

"Isn't it obvious? I'm an emotionless assassin, an unfeeling person, so of course I speak with strength," the youth replied. "I've heard you're the captain of this adventure group, a Combat Artisan. If you want to subdue me, then defeat me with your Clockwork Fairy."

I'll defeat you my foot!

Fang Hong's head ached. He looked up at the sky and sighed, "It's almost time for dinner; let's calm down a bit."

"That won't do. Dinner can wait. If you want to be my captain, how can you not convince me wholeheartedly?" The youth raised his wand with his left hand and took a step back while lightly resting his right hand on the hilt of his sword.

Fang Hong really wanted to retort that nobody here wanted to be your captain, because you were clearly forced upon us by that guy from Lonely White Field, like a free gift with a purchase from Otherworld Telecom, free, u r free, get it?

But then he thought, maybe it was a good opportunity to test this kid's strength since they might have to face trials together later, so he asked, "Are you serious?"

The youth nodded.

So, when the news got out that someone was challenging their captain, it caused a sensation in this little adventure group. Tianlan immediately dragged Luo Yu out, joining others on the railing to cheer for Fang Hong.

Although Tianlan appeared somewhat reserved on the surface, he was also very curious; a die-hard fan of Combat Artisans, he naturally wanted to see just how strong Fang Hong was at this point.

Actually, since the Dolifen trip, Fang Hong hadn't put forth his full strength in combat, even during the fight with the Night Lizard People, because the platform didn't allow him to deploy Walker III-type.

Among everyone, Lion People member Reed was purely there for the excitement. He leaned on Saddle Bridge, puffing his pipe with contentment. Atira, as usual, looked a bit worried. She asked Reed why he didn't stop them, but the Big Cat People just laughed, answering, "Let the young people handle their own matters, that's the answer the wind gave me, Miss Atira."

Elf Miss gave him an annoyed glare.

Being too short, the Papalarians tiptoed, trying to climb onto the railing. Unfortunately, someone from behind bumped into him, and he rolled down from the platform like a round ball.

Annoyed, he shouted from below, "Tianlan, I remember you!"

The little girl on top of the platform laughed heartily, fanning the flames, "You've got it wrong, Parker, it was Gita who bumped into you."

The future Miss Natural Historian scowled intensely at the former. Hilveld, smiling with her maids, pulled the little girl aside, soothed her with a few words, then said to Tianlan, "Don't bully Gita, Miss Fuli."

Tianlan giggled, "I know, Sister Hilveld."

The commotion here was so lively that it even caught the attention of Lizardman Prince Tainaric. With an expressionless face, he walked over with 'Blood Fang,' eyeing the youth in front of Fang Hong with his yellowish pupils.

His gaze was like sizing up 'Blood Fang's' evening snack.

His presence startled the youth who, pointing his short staff at the Prince, yelled, "Night Lizard People! I can't believe you henchmen of the Blood Oath Alliance are relentless and have followed us here—"

But before he could finish, Fang Hong, approaching from behind, struck him on the back of the head with a Sicape Flow Hand Knife, nearly causing him to bite his tongue. The youth turned around furiously, looking at Fang Hong, and shouted indignantly, "What are you doing!?"
