Chapter 120: The Sixth Member (Part 3)

Mulan giggled and asked him, "So, are you interested in Dill?"

Fang Hong quickly shook his head.

Mulan gave him a meaningful look, "Even though Dill is a bit eccentric, she's definitely a standard little beauty. But you're not the first 'hero' to fall at her feet in the guild. I didn't expect you to pick such a challenging one right from the start."

Fang Hong broke out in a cold sweat, what's all this about?

Just then, Cui Yu suddenly turned back, glanced at the two of them, and then spoke, "Mulan, you're wasting time here, have you thought about the competition?"

"What's there to think about?" Mulan, clearly not impressed by the former's remarks, shrugged, "Soldiers will come to block, water will be used to cover, we'll figure it out."

The young man snorted lightly when he heard that, looked at Fang Hong for a moment, then turned back silently.

Fang Hong could clearly feel the hostility from the other side, but there was nothing he could do about it. After all, he had kept them waiting for half a day. Hawk-Beak Bean, watching the three of them, didn't join in, just chuckled and leaned in, asking him quietly, "By the way, Ade, what level are you?"

"Level 18." Fang Hong thought for a moment before answering.

Spurred by vanity, he privately bumped up his level by half a level—it wasn't exactly lying, his experience was almost at the edge of level 18, he just hadn't spent his cognitive experience yet.

"That low?" Hawk-Beak Bean's reaction was beyond Fang Hong's expectation; he seemed startled.

Fang Hong was also taken aback. He thought being level 18 was pretty decent, but he didn't expect the other to react like that—he hadn't even been in the Continental League at Colin Ishurian's finals—but then he thought back to checking Vikki and their levels.

Only then did he ask about others' levels, and it turned out Mulan, the highest in the group, was already level 23, and none of the others were below level 20. Even Dill, the lowest, had reached exactly level 20.

Although these levels were mostly from life professions and their experiences, apart from Cui Yu, none of them had ever had any adventuring experiences; Mulan, MTT, and Hawk-Beak Bean hadn't even been accompanying alchemists.

Only alchemists from the professional background of a grand guild would have such a track record. Because for a normal invoker alchemist, if they hadn't been accompanying alchemists, maintaining a living would've been tough. Just looking at the experiences of Cui Yu and Dill in this group makes that clear.

But those are just rare adventuring experiences the two had.

Hearing Fang Hong's low level, Mulan seemed surprised and couldn't help but turn back to ask, "Ade, which youth training camp did you come from?"

This question wasn't baseless, as the grand guilds have their own resources for training camps. Youth training camps differ from trainee training. Trainees are evaluated for their future potential as invokers, while youth training camps cultivate official invokers with potential.

Any well-known youth training camp has level missions at different ages for invokers, especially those with special talents, for whom level missions are particularly significant.

The more talented the invoker, the earlier they pass the lower levels, and the sooner they can join the ranks of top invokers. After all, an invoker's prime age is only about seven or eight years.

But to Fang Hong, it sounded a bit different. Are there really level 18 youth training camp players?

Yet thinking of Sophie, he couldn't help but think that grand guilds might indeed be like that. And for ordinary invokers, reaching level 15 long marked the end of the rookie phase. But what youth training camp did he come from? Not only a youth training camp, he hadn't even been a trainee.

In fact, not even a trainee, he was not even an official invoker.

But this was something he couldn't elaborate on in detail, so Fang Hong thought for a moment and could only vaguely reply, "Actually, it wasn't really a youth training camp..."

By this time, the group had entered the dock area, surrounded by the noise of voices, and no one really heard what Fang Hong said. Mulan saw his hemming and hawing and figured he probably came from an unknown youth training camp, or perhaps no training base under any grand guild.

However, she got the hint and left Fang Hong some dignity, not pressing further. Cui Yu, not far away, just snorted lightly, appearing as if he had already expected it.

But Hawk-Beak Bean chuckled, "Actually, Dill's not from a youth training camp either; everyone has their own talents."

This made Dill turn back to glance at him, looking indifferent, yet it scared Hawk-Beak Bean.

At the front, Soul Fingerprint was carrying Fang Hong's suitcase, but actually always paid attention to the conversation of her team members behind her. Hearing Hawk-Beak Bean's words, she felt a sense of resignation rise in her heart. But she had somewhat anticipated it, and this moment didn't trouble her as much as before.

She also realized that her previous thoughts were somewhat flawed. The team had its issues, but she shouldn't have pinned hopes on an outsider placed in the team; after all, this was the norm. She thought blaming the young man so harshly was a bit much.

The young man had possibly just come along for the experience.

Thinking of this, her tone softened a bit as she turned back to ask, "By the way, Ade, there's a competition in three days; have you looked into the rules before?"

Fang Hong was startled, having intended to ask the same. Although he'd participated in the regular matches held by Colin Ishurian, regular matches differed from exhibition matches, not to mention when he participated, he was clueless about what wasn't going on.

And from the time he agreed to Odin to participate in this competition until reaching Fanric, most of his thoughts were on the Hall of Thousand Doors, leaving him no time to consider anything else. Although he had hurriedly learned some things in the community, details were still lacking.
