Chapter 117: Miss Ship's Officer's Report (3)

Now the platform is waiting for further installation of armor, but it is waiting for this Alchemist to return to the team. Next, Mr. Greyrock will continue south to Fanric, while Lady Kuisu and her team will stay in the Long Lake District as planned to prepare for the upcoming shipbuilding project.

Lady Kuisu came to discuss with him whether the Uncrowned Crown and the Forest's team could stay, as this would increase manpower and allow the project to be completed earlier. The Uncrowned Crown and the Forest's team were originally the people from the small guild that was escorting Delice.

After the dissolution of the Southern Alliance, they simply traveled south with the Adventure Group, on one hand following Ye Hua's arrangement to continue protecting the Little Princess of the Rose Family, and on the other because Atira hired them to protect Lady Kuisu's logging team outside the Adventure Group.

"So what is the opinion of the Uncrowned himself?" Fang Hong inquired, since the other party was not originally part of their Adventure Group.

This question was answered by Elisa: "Miss Hilveld is Delice's sister, they trust us very much, but Delice threw a few tantrums because she didn't want to be separated from the Uncrowned Crown."

"Then let the Uncrowned continue with us, letting the Forest stay to look after the team, see what they think of this suggestion." Fang Hong knew that they would definitely head to the Rose Family, and Delice had to go with them. However, since the little girl was dependent on the Uncrowned's team, this was the only solution he could think of.

Elisa nodded upon hearing this, indicating that she could ask about it.

After a few polite exchanges, Hilveld felt embarrassed to linger on the call any longer, especially considering the cross-country, cross-realm communication fees in Tianlan were likely resulting in a skyrocketing bill, so both sides bade a temporary farewell.

Before parting, Fang Hong mentioned to them that he should very soon head to Fanric to join everyone. Elisa on the other end laughed and nodded: "Then we'll wait for you, Mr. Captain."

After closing the communication, Fang Hong looked again at the other friends on the list, but all were showing gray IDs. He sent messages to Odin and Queen Nether, and then closed the communicator.

Anluose had long since left the room, leaving just him and Tata. Tata knew he was communicating with the people from Tianlan, so she quietly browsed the community on the side — but nothing major was happening during February and March, just some mundane posts.

Once Fang Hong closed the communicator, Miss Tata looked up at him and softly said: "That artificial crystal should be 'her' work."

Fang Hong naturally knew who Miss Tata referred to by 'her'. He silently introspected his own Spirit World, glancing at the sleeping 'Dragon Girl'. But he dared not delve too deeply for fear of triggering the Dark Giant Dragon's aura again.

His heart was torn between joy and worry; on one hand, he had contracted two Dragon Souls, but the other Dragon Soul seemed to have issues. For now, Fang Hong could only trust Anluose's words that there was probably no problem with the artificial Dragon Soul— yet, he still held onto the Crescent Amulet, even though it wasn't equipped, as it gave him a sense of security keeping it close.

After doing all this, Fang Hong looked at the blackened crystal by his pillow, pondering as he silently recalled the circumstances.

The appearance of that array was still etched in his heart.

Instinctively, he raised his hand, and in his mind, every symbol and figure of the Creation formula naturally surfaced, projecting these images into the Artisan System, then a flashing array appeared on his hand.

But moments later, the array dissipated like smoke.

The result was no different from the world beyond the Hall of Thousand Doors, once again, it failed.

Yet Fang Hong wasn't surprised, only exchanging a glance with Miss Tata.

"Did you feel anything, Miss Tata?" he asked his Miss Fairy.

Tata gently shook her head: "Nothing different from the world behind the Door, Mr. Knight."

"Indeed, the change didn't come from within me," Fang Hong replied.

He then tested his Elemental Affinity again, and indeed—he still lacked any Elemental Affinity. It seemed the Dragon Soul's Affinity couldn't change the Affinity of its Contractor—even if he had signed a contract with it by sheer luck.

Nevertheless, Fang Hong breathed a sigh of relief, because if there were some Dark Magic Power affinity, he'd feel as though his head would swell a size bigger.

He took another look at the sleeping Dragon Soul, and in his heart, he now identified the source of his previous failures.

The small entity in his Spirit World felt like a bottomless pit, having absorbed some unknown amount of magic power but ever seeming in slumber, occasionally waking for brief moments. Just as the thought flickered by, Fang Hong saw the small creature frown in its slumber, seemingly displeased.

He hesitated, realizing that this little creature might, like Miss Tata, be able to sense his thoughts.

The problem, however, was that he seemed unable to perceive the creature's thoughts in return.

Still, the little one showed no sign of waking, and Fang Hong, helpless, could only pick up the black, artificial crystal, holding it in his palm. Anluose earlier said that this thing had a self-sealing structure. If that were true, wouldn't it mean that even if he sensed such elements, it wouldn't serve any real function?

But as soon as he began to open the Artisan System and probe into the Ether World, he was astounded.

What he saw was an expanse vast as smoke—a Sea of Light. The intricate structure of countless points, stars upon stars, orderly suspended like stars in a night sky, one by one, side by side.

What self-sealing structure?
