Chapter 94: A Small Condition (Part 2)

The two finally sat down at the bar.

Ye Xing seemed to be free, too, sitting at the bar and curiously watching the two.

Odin unslung the great sword from his back and placed it on the table, then turned and spoke for the first time, "Haven't you always wanted to ask why I brought you to the Southern Region?"

Fang Hong watched the Elf Bartender turn around and walk over to the liquor cabinet, and hearing Odin's words, couldn't help but pause and turn his head back. He had indeed asked the King of Warriors this question several times, but each time, Odin responded with silence and did not answer.

Over time, he stopped seeking an answer to this question with no apparent answer. Luckily, the King of Warriors seemed not to harbor any malice towards him, so he journeyed south with Odin.

Moreover, he thought, since it was on the way anyway—

But he hadn't expected Odin to bring up the subject at this moment—especially since it seemed they had indeed reached their destination. Fang Hong surveyed the hall, wondering what was special about this place and what the Tower Guard had to do with him.

Listening to Odin's inquiry, he slowly nodded.

"I can tell you, but," Odin replied, "I have a principle that there is no such thing as a free lunch in this world; all gains come from hard-earned effort." He looked at Fang Hong, "You should be aware of this, right?"

Fang Hong nodded again.

Odin's life was legendary; initially, he wasn't the one most favored by people, nor could he be called a prodigy, having come from Ragnarok's trainee camp. Of course, it was higher than ordinary people, but in front of real geniuses, this origin was hardly worth mentioning.

It was through his own effort that he reached this position today, responding to all those who underestimated him with his achievements. His identity isn't just the Chairman of Ragnarok; he is also one of the only two Ten Kings in the nation.

Coincidentally, the only two Ten Kings of this generation in the nation are Odin, the dark horse who was initially overlooked, and another who didn't even come from a Grand Guild, Ye Hua. As it happens, he has seen both of these individuals.

Odin glanced at the calendar hanging on the tree wall and finally spoke, "The last showcase match of the Continental League is in April; there are still three months left. In these three months, I will give you an opportunity — as long as you can withstand my full attack for ten seconds."

He turned back to Fang Hong, "Then I will tell you the answer—"

Fang Hong's mouth dropped open.

Withstand the King of Warriors' full attack for ten seconds?

He pondered whether after leveling up to Level 20 he could achieve it. Considering his current level, it was probably better to wash up and sleep, raise the pillow a bit higher, maybe in dreams he could achieve it.

That was a Dragon Knight, whose full strength couldn't even be contained by the First World's law, and not just any Dragon Knight; it was the King of Warriors. Outside of the natives, being a Dragon Knight was the warrior profession's highest honor among the Invokers.

What does Dragon Knight mean?

Dragon Knight has a simple meaning in the First World — Level 50.

However, in reality, it's not only Level 50; it's just that the First World can only accommodate the concept of Level 50.

Fang Hong couldn't help but wipe his sweat, even wondering if the King of Warriors was making fun of him. In three months, he could exchange a few moves under a Ten King, so in a few more years, would he also become a Ten King?

But the Throne Guardian for the Combat Artisan, now, is that legend, King of Grey, FOX.

"...How is this possible?" The word 'retreat' hadn't appeared in Fang Hong's dictionary yet, but faced with such an impossible matter, he subconsciously asked.

Odin glanced at him, replying confidently, "Typically, of course, you can't." But he paused: "However, I will give you an opportunity, won't I?"

"An opportunity?"

Odin just turned back and said nothing further.

Fang Hong was curious; the opponent had mentioned the Continental League in April earlier, clearly with intent, but he couldn't decipher its purpose for the time being. Following Odin's gaze, he saw the Elf Bartender returning.

The elf quickly placed two glasses of wine before them as Ye Xing listened to their riddle-like conversation, feeling bored, so she tilted her head and spoke to the elf, "Ariel, I want one too."

The elf asked, "What would you like, Miss Ye Xing?"

"I want Gold Wine too."

Yet the elf placed a small cup of juice in front of her.

Ye Xing glared at him—

"The Tower Guard's orders," the elf replied, "Miss Ye Xing must not be mischievous."

At this point, three Little Fairies flew in from outside, clamoring for juice as well, and the previously reluctant Ye Xing suddenly panicked, quickly spreading her arms to guard her cup.

However, a single cup of juice was more than enough for four Little Fairies to drink, and Fang Hong watched their playful antics with great amusement.

But soon he couldn't find it amusing, as Odin had already pushed his cup of wine over and was watching him. "A man should drink wine," the King of Warriors said lightly, "Drinking juice is child's play, to withstand ten seconds under my hand, start with this glass of wine—"

"I'm not a child." Ye Xing protested loudly nearby.

Unfortunately, no one paid attention to her.

Fang Hong looked speechless; where does this kind of fallacy come from — could drinking wine really improve combat strength?
