The monster lunged at Nova, who dodged the attack, realizing the boss wasn't just some feeble little creature, and actually had to get serious, even though he had gotten his little boost in strength.
He summoned his daggers, seeing a new sigil embedded on them, representing the yin and the yang. The monster once again lunged at them, but he managed to skid backward. Then, as his mind connected with his Ability Chamber and inputted the new powers he had gotten from his evolution, he smirked.
"Hellscript Arsenal, huh," Nova whispered to himself. "So whatever weapons I craft now can carry embedded destruction sigils. And these sigils detonate on hit, disintegrate energy shields, and destabilize magical constructs. I can even forge destruction-based weapons mid-battle. This is beyond amazing, I am baffled."
Nova decided to test out his newfound evolution powers and summoned a shuriken, with the same yin-yang symbol that his daggers carried, and threw one at the monster, who was confused by the little shooting star he was hurling towards him.
The monster decided to touch the shuriken with its hand, and upon contact, the shuriken detonated, blasting away the monster's skin, as it hissed in pain. Nova then summoned another weapon, this time a spear, which he held from his mouth, knowing that the monster would dodge if it saw another flying weapon, so he decided to close the gap enough so that the monster wouldn't have as much time to react.
He accelerated towards the monster, which snarled in response and went towards him as well. Nova lightly smirked as he collided with the monster, dodging its attack, as it dodged his dagger's slashes.
He kept on attempting to slash, but the dodge retaliated in return, putting him on the defensive, as he saw an opportunity to release the spear on his mouth, and using it as a football, kicked beyond Mach fifteen towards the monster's hide.
The monster wasn't able to dodge the incoming spear, and the weapon pierced straight into its chest, abruptly exploding right away. The destruction symbol had ignited instantly, tearing through the creature's internal mana reserves.
A guttural roar escaped the creature's mouth as its entire left side began to disintegrate into black, spicy dust.
Nova exhaled slowly, his eyes glinting with satisfaction. "So that's what embedded sigil resonance feels like," he whispered to himself.
But the monster wasn't done. From the gaping wound in its chest, tendrils of corrupted mana lashed out, regenerating its lost form. The creature's face twisted with fury.
"Adaptive regeneration," Nova noted, his tone analytical yet amused. "Guess brute force won't be enough."
He tapped the side of one dagger, channeling the Hellscript's secondary protocol. The yin-yang sigil split into two distinct emblems, one radiant white, one abyssal black, circling the blades like twin comets.
"Alright then," he whispered. "Let's balance this equation."
He dashed forward, faster than before, every motion felt light like a feather, fluid and precise. Each step left little craters in the ground, as if the very ground he stood on was quivering in his wake.
The monster tried to counter, but Nova effortlessly dodged it, thinking he could now end the fight in just one simple strike. He smirked as the beasts' roar expanded its horizon, reaching to a place it thought it could never reach.
Nova crisscrossed his daggers to deliver the final blow, which he successfully delivered, marking an X on the monster's waist to chest. The monster left out a final roar as its body fell to the ground.
"Farewell, my friend," Nova walked away, sheathing his daggers.
But just as he was about five yards away, he heard a faint crackle from the monster's body, as if it was regenerating itself. He didn't think that would be possible, not after that deadly blow he had just delivered.
He turned back, and his mouth was wide open. He was left in horror as he saw the monster stand up, regenerate itself, cell by cell, until a completely new creature, same level as the previous one, was created. This one was much scarier than before.
The monster's hand ignited with fire, swiftly hurling a sphere of fire towards Nova, who barely dodged it. Then, as he turned back to face the monster, it disappeared. He looked everywhere, but just as he went back to the starting position, he saw the monster appear right in front of him.
It breathed fire and grabbed Nova by the stomach, its long and sharp claws tearing through Nova's skin as if it meant nothing. Blood trickled out, and the monster's claws would feel the rawness of Nova's organs on the verge of spilling out.
Before it could tear him apart, Nova used his daggers and cut the monster's arm slightly, who reacted to the sudden shock of pain, and Nova saw this as an opportunity to escape, and he did.
He created a gap between himself and the monster, and just as he did that, the creature snarled heavily, the guttural scream piercing right through Nova's eardrums, flattening them instantly.
Nova's knees buckled, falling to the ground with a louder thud. He gulped as the monster made noises that he thought were it laughing at him. The creature slowly approached him, step by step, creating crater upon crater, until it reached him.
The beast was right in front of Nova, who looked at it, with saliva flowing from its mouth, as if it wanted to eat Nova alive. Nova's mouth trickled some blood, as he just weakly stared at the beast, his eyes blurring.
But then, he heard another louder and eerier noise and saw a faint glimpse of the Australian leader flying over him, as the beast shifted its focus from Nova to the Australian leader.
As the beast left, Nova realized that he had two yellow crystals and decided to absorb both of them, one through his chest, smashing it, and the other by biting it down, absorbing the golden lighting emitting from it.
