Over The World, Beyond Heaven

Chapter 657: Ask for One Day Before Departure

"That's the Heaven Beam, which delivers miracle items to the central territory of the main world!"

Huh!!?

"What did you say just now? Heaven Beam?" Zheng-Fu suddenly calmed down upon hearing the ancient creature's words.

"I once saw a golden beam like this one. The previous beam had energy waves and pressure similar to those of the Heaven Beam. But that's just my guess!" the ancient creature explained, clarifying his earlier statement.

"How confident are you in this guess?" Zheng-Fu asked how confident the ancient creature was in its own words.

"How confident? I'm eight-tenths sure that it's the Heaven Beam!" the ancient creature replied confidently, showing no hesitation. He knew Zheng-Fu was taking this matter very seriously.

"If that's the case, then she's not dead! She's not dead; she was just taken by the beam. And it might really have been the Heaven Beam, as you said. But how many years will it take for the Heaven Beam to appear again?" Zheng-Fu couldn't determine whether the ancient creature was giving him false hope or not. Regardless, he chose to believe it—believe that Fu-Er was not dead. She had merely been taken somewhere by the Heaven Beam. And Zheng-Fu believed it had to be that way. Therefore, he asked the ancient creature when the Heaven Beam would appear again...

"Five years from now, the Heaven Beam will appear again. However, this is just an estimate. It could happen sooner or later!" the elder from the Heavenly Flora Garden interjected, answering in place of the ancient creature. He reasoned that the ancient creature had been imprisoned for too long to know the exact timing.

"Five more years? Why does it have to take that long? Is there no faster way?" Zheng-Fu's eyes widened in concern. Five years felt like an eternity to him. Moreover, he wasn't entirely sure if it was truly the Heaven Beam that had taken Fu-Er. All he knew was that if she had died, her body would have remained.

"It won't feel like that long, Kid. Five years is a short time for you to train and become strong enough to enter the central territory. The central territory is filled with countless dangers, whether from human sects, devil sects, demon sects, or even monster beasts and demon beasts. All of them are incredibly powerful."

"Even if you advance to the Heavenly Foundation Building stage, it will still be difficult for you to face those challenges. And progressing to the Heavenly Foundation Building stage isn't easy. Even with your excellent absorption ability, it will take at least a year to reach the intermediate stage." The elderly man immediately responded regarding the dangers of the central territory. To venture into the central territory, one must possess a level higher than the Heavenly Foundation Building stage. Reaching that level would take more than one to two years of effort...

Huh?

"Elder, since you've arrived, please show yourself!" Just as Zheng-Fu was about to continue arguing with the elder in the herb garden, he sensed someone approaching. It was Elder Wan-Shi, who had traveled through dimensional space to reach him.

Ha, ha, ha!!!

"I didn't think you'd sense my arrival. For someone at the highest Divine King stage, that shouldn't have been possible. Unless your true energy level is higher than that," Elder Wan-Shi said, stepping gracefully out of thin air and onto the Noah Zeppelin's deck after he had been caught. He praised Zheng-Fu for his sharp perception.

"I'm truly only at the highest Divine King stage, not higher. You should know that, Elder. And you're here to pick me up, aren't you?" Zheng-Fu replied calmly about his energy level, probing for the elder's intentions.

"That's correct. I've come to pick you up and to tell you something. But it seems there's no need for explanations anymore—you don't seem to have any suicidal thoughts," Elder Wan-Shi remarked, nodding as he revealed the purpose of his visit.

"Suicide!? Me, kill myself? How could I die when that damn Demon Emperor isn't dead yet? And even if he dies, I certainly won't follow. But before I leave with you, may I request one more day to take care of something first?" Zheng-Fu widened his eyes at the suggestion before smirking. His expression turned dark, and his psychic killing intent flared as he asked the elder for extra time.

"You want another day to deal with the Demon Emperor, don't you? That's unnecessary. Elder Hou-Shen of the Heavenly Lotus Devil Sect has already taken the Demon Emperor to his sect, along with all thirteen people who passed the test. Only you and the two other test participants I accepted as disciples remain. And you're the only one not yet ready," Elder Wan-Shi replied, anticipating Zheng-Fu's intent and revealing that the Demon Emperor was no longer in this world. He had left for the Heavenly Lotus Devil Sect with Elder Hou-Shen.

Huh!

"I already knew that. I knew he was no longer in this world. If he were, he wouldn't have had the chance to leave. But I'm asking for one day to settle matters with my family and my people in In-See City. The day after tomorrow, I'll meet you at my sect!" Zheng-Fu had known from the beginning that the Demon Emperor was no longer in this world. He must have already departed with one of the elders. However, the reason Zheng-Fu requested time was to put things in order here first, as well as to bid farewell to his father and mother...

Mm…

"All right! I'll give you one more day. However, if you finish your tasks early, you can use this communication jade to contact me, and I'll come to pick you up immediately. But keep in mind, the dimensional gate between the two worlds is closing soon. When the time comes, I'll retrieve you whether you've completed your errands or not. Now, hurry and take care of your business!"

Wooooooosh!!!

After handing the communication jade to Zheng-Fu, Elder Wan-Shi disappeared into the dimensional space, vanishing along with the gate.

"Yes, sir, Elder!" Zheng-Fu bowed respectfully before commanding his Noah Zeppelin to return to the Over the World, Beyond Heaven Denomination.

Woooooooooosh!!!

Five minutes passed...

Thump, thump, thump!!!

"Little Brother, where is… Ah!" As soon as the Noah Zeppelin landed, Hai-Dong walked in and started to ask. However, when he saw Zheng-Fu's cold expression, he stopped himself and asked no further.

"Sorry, Big Brother. I didn't mean to make that face," Zheng-Fu said, noticing Hai-Dong's worried gaze fixed on him. Realizing he was showing a bad expression, he immediately apologized. "I have a lot on my mind right now. Give me one shichen, and I'll be back. Please inform everyone to meet in the main hall of the sect!"

Zheng-Fu had many tasks to handle at the sect, but his first priority was to return to his clan and bid farewell to his parents. He left Hai-Dong with the responsibility of gathering everyone in the denomination's main hall one shichen later.

"All right, I understand, Little Brother. I'll inform everyone myself. You take care of your errands!" Hai-Dong nodded and refrained from asking further questions, sensing that it wasn't the right time.

"Hmm!!!"

Woooooosh!!!

After speaking with Hai-Dong, Zheng-Fu immediately left. His clan wasn't far from the sect, and with his current energy level, he reached there in an instant.

At Zheng-Fu's family residence...

Creak!!!

Huh?

"My dear, Zheng, you're back! Why are you wearing such a sad expression? Tell me, what happened?" Zheng-Fu's mother, Tang-Ling, greeted him warmly as the hall door opened. But before she could say more, she noticed the sorrowful look on her son's face. She then asked him with concern.

"She… is no longer in this world, Mother!" Zheng-Fu said, his voice heavy with sadness. He had carried this pain with him for a long time, but speaking to his mother brought a sense of solace. He decided to tell her the story about Fu-Er.

"That can't be true! You said she would be fine. How could this happen?" Tang-Ling turned pale, unable to accept such a tragedy.

"I don't even know if she's dead or not. A mysterious beam suddenly appeared and took her away. I believe she might have been taken somewhere else. I'm about to head to that place to find out what it truly is. And I will exact revenge on whoever caused this!"

Zheng-Fu clarified his earlier statement about Fu-Er being "no longer in this world." She might still be alive in another realm, or if she had indeed died, he would retrieve her body. This journey wasn't just about finding Fu-Er; it was also about taking vengeance on the Demon Emperor, the one responsible for everything.

Sigh...

"Your father and I will always stand by your side. No matter which path you choose, we'll support you. Just promise us you'll return alive and safe—that's all we ask," Tang-Ling said, her voice filled with maternal love and concern. She knew there was no stopping Zheng-Fu. Instead of opposing him, she chose to encourage and support him, wishing only for his safe return.

"Your mother is right, Son! I feel the same way. We know we can't stop you, but as long as you come back safely, that's enough," Kong-Shi's voice sounded as he walked slowly into the hall, his presence strong and steady.

"Father!"

"I'm grateful to you both for always being by my side. I promise I'll come back alive—and I'll bring her back with me!" Zheng-Fu's parents' encouragement uplifted his spirits. He realized he couldn't allow himself to wallow in misery; he had to be strong to accomplish his goals and enter the central territory.

Slap!

Ouch!

"Stop looking so miserable! Didn't you once tell me you'd become the one who rises above everyone else? And now look at you—is that your face or a monkey's behind? Why is it so twisted like that?" Kong-Shi teased as he slapped Zheng-Fu's head, his words a mix of rebuke and encouragement.

"I understand, Father! Whatever I've said, I will make it happen. This son of yours will rise above the earth and conquer all the heavens!" Zheng-Fu declared, his confidence renewed. Even if he wasn't sure of the outcome, he would strive to become stronger than anyone else—stronger than the earth or the heavens.

"Great! Well then! We know you have things to do, so go and take care of them. Don't worry about us," Kong-Shi said, smiling in relief as he saw his son's spirits lifting. He understood that Zheng-Fu had other responsibilities waiting for him and didn't want to hold him back.

"I…"

"Go on, Zheng! We'll be fine. Our clan is the strongest in all of Blue Land now. With the power we've accumulated, nothing will harm us. Besides, the Over the World, Beyond Heaven Denomination belongs to you, and Dong-Kuang is its denomination master. Who would dare oppose us? You can leave without worry and finish what you need to do," Tang-Ling added, reinforcing her husband's reassurance. She knew Zheng-Fu was still worried about them, so she wanted to ease his concerns about them and allow him to focus on his mission without worries.
