After everyone took their seats, Hai-Dong took on the role of master of ceremonies for the celebration, as he was well-known to many and held a respected position in In-See City. Even Lao-Ying-Ba was considered less influential than Hai-Dong.
Ahem!
"Hello, everyone! No need to introduce myself, right?"
Ha ha ha!
His first line alone brought joyful laughter from the crowd.
"Let's get started. Today, Brother Dong-Kuang and I have organized this grand celebration to honor all the brave souls who lost family and friends in this war. It's also to welcome back my sworn brother, the founder of Beyond Earth Sect, whose vision transformed In-See City into the powerhouse it is today. Today, we celebrate his success and the greatness he has brought to us!" Hai-Dong proclaimed loudly, making sure everyone heard Zheng-Fu's achievements.
Woohoo! Woohoo! Hey! Hey!
Cheers of joy and excitement echoed instantly after Hai-Dong finished speaking, as most of the villagers in Eagle City were well aware of this part of the history. However, they had never seen Zheng-Fu in person before, and today was their chance to finally meet him face-to-face.
"Look at that handsome young man!"
"Who? Wow! Why is he so stunning? Oh! I want him!"
"No, he's mine!"
"Forget it! He's going to be with me!"
Many young women gazed at the handsome young man seated in the special section, openly expressing their endless admiration. Some even fantasized about having shared a night with him. This young man was none other than Zheng-Fu himself. With his striking figure and face, he appeared like a beautiful angel from heaven, the very vision that girls dreamed about day and night.
"Hah, my wife! Why are you admiring another man? You already have three kids!"
"Hey, look at me! I'm just as handsome as him and always working hard for us!"
"At first, I was going to be grateful to him, but now I want to strangle him! Look, my wife is fawning over him while holding my arm!"
Ahem!
"All right, everyone, please calm down! Before we officially begin, I'd like my younger brother to say a few words to you. Let's settle down, please!" Hai-Dong, sensing the situation getting a bit out of hand, coughed and released a bit of his energy to get everyone's attention.
When everyone fell silent, with no sound except the wind and a few slight movements, Zheng-Fu stood up and leapt onto the stage where Hai-Dong was standing. He came to a proud stop beside Hai-Dong and began to speak.
"I, Tian-Tang Zheng-Fu, thank everyone for attending today. This feast was not held to honor or please me but to remember the courage of our brothers, sisters, and families who gave their lives. We can't go back to those moments, but we must carry on with strength to ensure their sacrifices were not in vain."
Zheng-Fu's words brought the crowd to silence, and then a stirring energy seemed to ripple through everyone as if his words had sparked something deep within.
"Young Master Zheng-Fu is right. Though we mourn, we must press on and honor their sacrifices!" someone called out in a strong voice.
"Yes! We won't let their sacrifices be in vain!"
"For those who sacrificed! For those who sacrificed!"
The entire gathering echoed these words, the shouts resounding so loudly that even people several li away could hear them, their spirits stirred.
Zheng-Fu raised his hand, signaling for quiet.
"Thank you again, everyone. And today, besides what I just mentioned, I would like to announce that, from today forward, the Beyond Earth Sect will be known as the Over the World, Beyond Heaven Denomination!"
Huh?
"Over the World, Beyond Heaven Denomination?"
Zheng-Fu's proclamation left everyone at the feast—and even those hundreds of lis away—visibly shocked, as the establishment of a denomination was beyond what anyone had anticipated. For all the disciples of the Beyond Earth Sect, however, it was a moment of great joy.
"Little brother, are you serious!?" Hai-Dong, standing beside him, asked in surprise.
"Of course, big brother. I've been thinking about this for a long time. But back then, I didn't have the power to make it happen. Now, things are different; I have the strength, and I believe my brothers are ready to help as well!" Zheng-Fu replied with a resolute nod to his sworn brother.
"But establishing a denomination isn't easy, kid!" a middle-aged man in the crowd suddenly spoke up, gazing calmly at Zheng-Fu.
"That's true, Elder. Starting a denomination isn't a simple feat, but that may be true only for others. For me, it's achievable. After all, every great denomination began from nothing, so why can't I establish one?" Zheng-Fu responded confidently, recognizing the man as one of the mysterious, highly skilled martial masters who had been training in seclusion.
"Hm! You seem confident. But are you aware of the implications of establishing a denomination?" The martial master continued, testing Zheng-Fu's resolve.
"I stand by my words: nothing can stop me!" Zheng-Fu replied firmly, locking eyes with the martial master.
"In that case…"
"I welcome all elders to join my denomination. I know your main purpose here. Naturally, this new denomination will participate in the disciple selection led by the five 'Weird Elders' and the 'Mysterious Elder,' but I need to know that your intentions are genuine," Zheng-Fu interjected, directing his words in a low voice so only the highly skilled martial masters could hear. He knew it wasn't wise to reveal too much to the public just yet.
In the inner circle of major denominations, only the strongest organizations with ample resources could send disciples to participate in the selection, cultivating talents up to the Divine Emperor stage. These denominations were constantly on the lookout for young geniuses.
The martial masters nodded in satisfaction, saying nothing further but waiting for the right time to discuss matters later.
Elsewhere in the feast…
"This kid's talent is impressive. He's already a Divine King cultivator at such a young age, with energy levels even stronger than those typically at his level," an elder in a tattered robe remarked to the young man across from him.
"I told you he's worthy of joining our denomination, but you were slow to believe me. Now, the other elders have their eyes on him too. What are you going to do about it?" the young man replied with a slight smirk.
"Well, I was busy. You know well that your father has other duties to attend to. But even if those four old men take notice of him, so what? If I want something, they'll still give me the respect I deserve!" the old man responded indifferently, explaining his reasons to the young man.
This elderly man was, in fact, one of the renowned five weird elders. The young man across from him was the same one Zheng-Fu had encountered once before and was also the old man's son. The reason for their visit today was to observe Zheng-Fu's actions.
Zheng-Fu, however, was unable to sense their presence. Their energy levels and camouflage techniques were far beyond his own. To him, they appeared as ordinary people, even upon close inspection.
The celebration continued late into the night. By then, the atmosphere had become far more lively, with many guests having drunk their fill. Naturally, with drinks came revelry, and some men clung to women at their sides, sparking minor scuffles. These disturbances were quickly resolved by Beyond Earth Sect members on security duty.
At the dignitaries' seats...
"I never expected Young Master to return with an announcement like this about establishing a denomination!" Dan-Chun-Gu finally commented, breaking the silence around the topic.
"Hm! This will certainly mean more work for everyone. I hope none of you abandon me now!" Zheng-Fu replied, smiling slyly at Dan-Chun-Gu and the others.
"How could we ever abandon Young Master? We owe everything we have today to you. I vowed to stay loyal to you and your family, and I mean it!" Dan-Chun-Gu replied, his face resolute.
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
The others echoed his words, sharing Dan-Chun-Gu's sentiment. After enduring so much together, none were bothered by the prospect of hard work. In fact, they felt honored; a denomination went beyond a simple martial arts sect—it was a guiding force, uniting members toward a shared path and customs.
"Thank you all very much!"
