Over The World, Beyond Heaven

Chapter 555: Changed Situations

Huh...?

"Just being bullied by a stupid reptile!!?" The Monster King repeated Zheng-Fu's words with a very doubtful expression, turning to look left and right to see where the reptile was.

When he saw the Monster King doing that, Zheng-Fu immediately spoke up to cover his tracks.

"Let's go examine the demon's corpse, sir. I think its body might have some valuable uses. Don't you think so, Father-in-law?" Zheng-Fu quickly changed the subject to the monster demon's corpse to divert the Monster King's attention from what he had just said.

"Yeah, its corpse is really valuable," the Monster King instantly forgot what Zheng-Fu had said earlier and turned to look at the demon's corpse, which had been cut in half. A satisfied smile appeared on his face.

Everyone knew how precious the bodies of Divine-King-stage demons were, especially their hearts, which could be used to concoct rare divine elixirs. Their spirits could be absorbed to extract knowledge and energy, and their blood could be used as ink for engraving spelled talismans.

Thump!!!

The Monster King patted Zheng-Fu's shoulder and said, "My son-in-law, today you have done a great favor for my Monster Tribe. So tonight, I'll be hosting a feast in your honor, and I'll announce to everyone that you are my son-in-law!" He finished with a sly smile.

Previously, the Monster King thought Zheng-Fu was very well-suited to being his son-in-law, but he hadn't planned on announcing it just yet. However, after today's events, the Monster King was determined not to let Zheng-Fu go. With Zheng-Fu's strength, the Monster Tribe would become even more powerful, and the Demon Tribe would no longer dare to act arrogantly toward them.

Another important matter was that the Monster King needed strong grandchildren. If someone as powerful as Zheng-Fu and his daughter, the strongest and smartest of all his children, had offspring together, their children would surely be incredibly strong.

"Thank you, Father-in-law. But I think it's best we don't have a party tonight. The city is still unsettled, and I need time to recover my energy," Zheng-Fu, knowing the Monster King's intentions, found an excuse to delay the celebration a little longer to playfully tease the King.

"But… um... alright! I'll do as my son-in-law suggests. Let's head back to the city. Fu-Er must be worried about you by now," the Monster King hesitated for a moment but, seeing that Zheng-Fu still seemed unwell, agreed easily and suggested Zheng-Fu return to Fu-Er first as part of his own plan.

"As you say, Father-in-law!" Zheng-Fu nodded and smiled warmly.

Swish! Swish!

After reaching an agreement, the two of them soared back to the city governor's residence, while the clan leaders and other powerful figures who had come to watch the battle dispersed and returned to their respective places.

"What a pity we couldn't even see the face of that other great, skilled martial master!" A disappointed voice was heard as the battle concluded and the king and the mysterious martial master departed.

"That's right. His camouflage and concealment techniques are incredible. Even while fighting at such high energy levels, he could still maintain those techniques!" the Lightning Bird Clan Leader said in agreement, clearly impressed by the great martial master.

"I feel a strange familiarity with him. It's as if we've all met him before, but I can't recall when," said the Flaming Dawn Clan Leader. He found the martial master so familiar that the image of a young man popped into his mind.

"True, as the Flaming Dawn Clan Leader said. His gestures are very familiar," the tavern leader added, with a smile on his face.

"I think so too. We've probably all met him already!" Chamber Keeper Wen-Xi, who was standing next to the tavern leader, added slyly, glancing at him.

Huh...?

Ha ha ha!!!

"Chamber Keeper Wen-Xi, you're very sharp and perceptive. Well, I must excuse myself for today. Next time, if you're free, visit me at the Enchanted Monster Tavern, and I'll treat you to all the liquor you can drink!" said the tavern leader before disappearing in a flash, leaving behind a sense of suspicion among everyone. Did the tavern leader know more than he let on?

And what about Chamber Keeper Wen-Xi of the Mo-Qing Chamber of Commerce?

"Well, alright then! All clan leaders, I, Wen-Xi, must take my leave as well. I have matters to attend to at the chamber of commerce. See you all later!" Wen-Xi said goodbye, noticing that more people were beginning to scrutinize him, and disappeared immediately.

After Wen-Xi left, the other leaders also departed. Only the garrisons on the city wall remained, as they had to stay on duty to ensure the city's safety.

At the mansion where Fu-Er and Luo-Qing resided…

"Zheng-Fu, please don't get hurt." Fu-Er was in deep concern, having sensed the enormous energy from earlier.

"He must be fine, Elder Sister!" Luo-Qing reassured her, trying to comfort Fu-Er, though she was also worried.

"Princess, there's no need to worry. His Majesty will surely handle that demon," said one of the elder monsters confidently. Although he had sensed the immense energy earlier, he knew it wasn't the Monster King's energy but didn't want to dwell on negative thoughts.

After a while, everyone in the room sensed that the monster demon's energy wave had disappeared. Only the King's energy wave and another unfamiliar one remained. Of course, everyone knew the unfamiliar energy wave belonged to the young man. Just as they were about to express their relief, both elder monsters and the ten royal guards sensed several highly skilled martial masters approaching.

"Thirteenth Princess, Fourteenth Princess, please move into the center of our formation!"

A royal guard spoke seriously, while the rest prepared themselves. The two girls immediately did as instructed, and the two elder monsters drew their weapons, getting ready as well.

Flop! Flop! Flop!

Before long, more than ten black-robed assassins appeared around the group of royal guards and elder monsters. These assassins were all at the eighth or ninth level of the Divine Emperor stage, with energy levels nearly equal to the royal guards.

"You bastards! How brave of you to come here! Leave immediately!" The royal guard chief bellowed, unleashing the energy waves of the ninth level of the Divine Emperor stage.

Huh!

"You think small flies like you can save the Thirteenth Princess from death?" the lead assassin sneered, unleashing his energy waves to counter the royal guard chief.

"You… you… you're a close henchman of the Second Concubine!?" The royal guard chief immediately recognized the assassin's energy waves from a previous encounter. He remembered that their battle had ended in a stalemate, so he knew the other party well.

Ha ha ha!!!

"Very good, Royal Guard Chief. Yes, it's me. But even if you know, so what? You're all going to die anyway!" The assassin laughed, unconcerned about being exposed, as he planned to kill everyone here. He had expected the battle outside to last longer and had brought many high-level martial masters secretly sponsored by the Second Concubine.

"Don't be so confident in yourself and your underlings. Your energy levels are just like ours!" the royal guard chief retorted, unfazed by the assassin's words, knowing that he and his subordinates were evenly matched with the other party.

"Talking too much is a waste of time. What are you waiting for? Kill the woman now!" the assassin ordered. But the person he gave the command to wasn't one of his men—it was a royal guard standing beside the royal guard chief.

Yaaaaa!!!

Huh...?

The sudden betrayal of this royal guard caught the royal guard chief, the other royal guards, and the two elder monsters off guard. They hadn't anticipated there would be a traitor among their ranks. But by the time they realized it, it was too late—the traitor had already raised his sword to strike at Fu-Er.

"Die!!!"

Clang!!!

Just before the traitor's sword could reach Fu-Er, it collided with a translucent barrier that appeared out of nowhere. The impact reflected the sword's force, causing the traitor to lose his balance.

"You treacherous dog, die!" The royal guard chief quickly regained his composure and slashed at the traitor with all his might, killing him instantly.

Yaaaa!!!

Slash!!!

The force of the sword strike instantly cut the traitorous guard's unsteady body in half. Caught off guard and already off balance, combined with the fact that his power level was lower than the royal guard chief's, he died in such a pitiful manner.

"How… how… how could this happen!?" The assassin, who was the Second Concubine's confidant, turned pale with shock. He had sent the traitor to infiltrate, yet he had failed and was killed in the blink of an eye. But what troubled him even more was the mysterious translucent barrier that had appeared to protect the princess.

As everyone pondered the cause of the barrier, a young man suddenly appeared next to Fu-Er. This young man had a piercing, majestic face, with fiery red hair that exuded intense heat. His muscular build gave off a sense of warmth. This young man was none other than Jin-Tian.

Jin-Tian's sudden appearance completely changed the situation. The assassins, who had initially held the advantage, now found themselves at a disadvantage.
