Over The World, Beyond Heaven

Chapter 532: Have You Taken That Item to the Auction Yet?

"You have something to discuss with me?"

Everyone was even more puzzled upon hearing Dan-Ge's explanation. It seemed improbable that Dan-Ge would need to discuss something personally with these youngsters. Normally, he could send a letter or a servant to relay the message, and that would suffice.

"That's right. I'm also impressed by their bravery. They dared to confront my palm attack, knowing full well they might die, yet they chose to face me instead of being arrested," Dan-Ge explained further, adding weight to the issue that everyone was focused on.

Of course, no one dared to ask any more questions, as this was the City Governor's will. Nonetheless, they, the high-ranking clan leaders, were reluctant to share a table with these low-ranking youths.

But at that moment, a voice rang out...

"Nephew, we haven't seen each other for a month. How have you been?"

Huh...?

The loud voice stirred up even more confusion as everyone turned to see the speaker. It was none other than the Mo-Qing Chamber of Commerce's keeper, one of the city's most powerful figures.

"Respect, Elder Wen-Xi. I'm doing well, sir. Since that day, I haven't had the chance to visit you at the Chamber of Commerce, but after this event, I'll definitely come by," Zheng-Fu replied, unfazed by the attention of others, as he greeted Chamber Keeper Wen-Xi.

"So great! I'll be waiting for your visit!" Wen-Xi replied with a warm and friendly smile as he looked at Zheng-Fu, who smiled back at him.

This interaction immediately sparked more questions in everyone's minds. If someone was associated with Wen-Xi, they had to either be important or his close person. So, who was this young man? Why was he so close with the Mo-Qing Chamber of Commerce's keeper?

"All right, you two, your seats are over there," Dan-Ge said, pointing to two empty seats not far from him.

"Yes, City Governor," Zheng-Fu replied, bowing slightly before he and Jin-Tian took their seats that Dan-Ge had pointed, which were also near Luo-Qing.

Flap!!!

After they sat down, Zheng-Fu said nothing. He simply swept his gaze around, searching for the mysterious young woman he had seen earlier during the maneuver. A strange feeling stirred inside him as if he had met and known her before.

But since she had been wearing a veil to cover her face, he hadn't been able to confirm anything. Tonight, he had hoped to find answers, but she was nowhere to be seen at the party.

"Young Master Fu-Zheng!" Luo-Qing suddenly called out to him. However, Zheng-Fu continued scanning the room, ignoring her. Seeing this, she called again.

"Young Master Zheng-Fu!!!"

Huh...?

Zheng-Fu turned toward her, surprised that she had called him by his real name instead of the alias, Fu-Zheng, he had introduced to everyone here. Luo-Qing's expression shifted slightly after calling him by this name.

"Miss Luo-Qing, did you get my name wrong? It's Fu-Zheng, not Zheng-Fu," Zheng-Fu replied, controlling his emotions and maintaining a calm demeanor. His expression didn't change at all.

"Sorry, I must have mixed the names up. I didn't mean to call you by the wrong name. Anyway, what's wrong? I've noticed you scanning the party for a while. Are you looking for someone?" Luo-Qing quickly apologized for how she called his name wrong and shifted the conversation.

In reality, the name she had just used, Zheng-Fu, was a name she had often heard from her elder sister. It was the name of the man her sister loved deeply, the one who had left her in a constant state of sadness. But after seeing Fu-Zheng, her sister's behavior had changed…

Normally, her elder sister would not express her interest in any men. However, when she saw Zheng-Fu, her eyes changed as if she had seen her lover again. Luo-Qing had also overheard her sister comparing Fu-Zheng to someone named Zheng-Fu.

After Luo-Qing saw her like this, she tried to think and find an answer. Recently, she came to a realization that seemed highly plausible to her. The matter was the similarity between the name of the young man, Fu-Zheng, and her elder sister's lover, Zheng-Fu.

The two names were remarkably similar, differing only in the switching of the first and last syllables. Still, this was only a hypothesis that she had formed, so she decided to test it by calling the young man "Zheng-Fu" instead.

The result was that Zheng-Fu turned around when she called, but his expression and demeanor made her unsure. Zheng-Fu didn't appear shocked; instead, he remained calm, as if nothing had happened, and even asked her if she had called his name incorrectly.

Of course, Zheng-Fu also began to notice that Luo-Qing seemed different, and her calling him "Zheng-Fu" could not have been a coincidence. There had to be something behind it that caused her to use that name. But after thinking about it, he remembered that she was his wife's half-sister.

It was likely normal for her to have heard this name from his wife, but that was only an assumption. Not everyone would have heard about him from Qi-Fu-Er, especially given the divisions within the royal family.

Because of this, Zheng-Fu realized he had to be very cautious so that no one would discover he had come to find Qi-Fu-Er. If too many people knew, and those people were not on her side, it could cause her problems. Therefore, he had to handle everything with the utmost care.

"I was just taking in the atmosphere. Since no one at this table is talking to me, it's only natural to feel a bit bored," Zheng-Fu replied, his voice loud enough to be heard by the clan leaders, who were busy conversing. This caused them to stop and turn their attention toward him.

"Did I say something wrong?" Zheng-Fu asked, shrugging and grinning broadly as they stared at him.

"Huh! You're just a youngster. Do you really think you're worthy of us talking to you?" the Frenzy Lion Clan Leader sneered, his face showing contempt.

"The Frenzy Lion Clan Leader is right. You're just a youth from a low-ranking clan. Do you expect us, the clan leaders, to waste our time talking to you?" the leader of an intermediate middle-ranking clan added, his tone equally disdainful.

Many of the other clan leaders shared this sentiment. In their eyes, despite his ability to withstand the City Governor's palm attack, Zheng-Fu was not significant enough to warrant their attention.

Except for Wen-Xi, who held a different view. Unlike the others, he felt sorry for them. They had no idea that Zheng-Fu could end their lives with just a flick of his hand.

At that moment, Wen-Xi decided to speak up. "Nephew, don't let it bother you. Even if no one else speaks to you, I'm more than happy to."

Huh...?

"Master Wen-Xi!?"

"Chamber Keeper Wen-Xi!?"

Wen-Xi's words immediately dispelled the awkward atmosphere, leaving the clan leaders who had been mocking Zheng-Fu puzzled. Why was the Mo-Qing Chamber of Commerce's keeper speaking this way? His words and his closeness to Zheng-Fu baffled everyone.

Even the Frenzy Lion Clan Leader, though still displeased, remained silent, keeping his frustration to himself. Wen-Xi's remarks had clearly undermined him.

The Flaming Dawn Clan Leader, meanwhile, became even more intrigued by Zheng-Fu. He couldn't figure out where this young man had come from or how he had formed such a close relationship with Wen-Xi, one of the great core of the city.

But in his mind, something told him that this young man was definitely not ordinary, and he could be someone mentioned in the ancient prophecy of the Monster Tribe's Lady Oracle.

'If he truly is the one from the prophecy, the Monster Tribe might be on the verge of a major shift. But the prophecy says the young man is not from the Monster Tribe... and yet, he appears to be. How does this fit?' the Flaming Dawn Clan Leader pondered, looking at Zheng-Fu with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

Dan-Ge, on the other hand, remained silent, watching closely to see how Zheng-Fu would respond after being belittled and insulted.

"Thank you, Uncle Wen-Xi. You truly are a good man, not interested that I'm just a lowly minor, unlike... some of the people here," Zheng-Fu said, casting a glance at those who had looked down on him. He continued with a sly smile, "Since you're willing to talk to me, I have something I'd like to discuss with you right here."

"Have you taken that item to the auction yet?"

Huh...!?
