Over The World, Beyond Heaven

Chapter 194: How Could That Be?

In De-Tong's carriage…

"You guys must be curious about how I could make the owner of the city agree to hold the punishment party for his son."

They nodded.

"It was nothing that difficult. I just made a deal with him. I offered to give him something valuable in exchange for him giving his son a lesson."

"Something valuable?" De-Na-Lan could not help but ask Zheng-Fu with a child-like curiosity…

"Yes. Something valuable that the owner of the city could not refuse to take," Zheng-Fu answered De-Na-Lan while shrugging his shoulders and sticking out both of his bare hands…

"What was that valuable thing? Why did he agree to take his son over ?" De-Tong was also very curious about the valuable thing…

"I can't tell you guys what it was. Let me just say that it was something valuable." Zheng-Fu could not tell the two that it was the whole city…

"Okay…"

When De-Tong and De-Na-Lan realized that Zheng-Fu would not tell them what the thing that made the owner of the city hurt his own son was, they just had to accept the disappointment. Then they had another question, to which Zheng-Fu had already prepared an answer for them. So, he took out a bottle of his pills and put it on the table…

Thud!

"You guys probably want to know about the pill I gave Ping-Hang last night, don't you?" Zheng-Fu checked if the two wanted to know about the pill after he put the pill bottle on the table…

The father and daughter nodded to Zheng-Fu's question. De-Tong felt like Zheng-Fu did not want to be asked, so he just let Zheng-Fu raise the question and answer it for him. However, De-Na-Lan thought differently, so she asked the minute she had the chance…

"What kind of pill is it, Master Fu-Zheng? How come it was so magical? Just taking it in, and the wounds on that bad master's body were all gone."

De-Tong was startled by his daughter's question and remark on the pill. He turned to look at Zheng-Fu to check if he was upset by her, but Zheng-Fu remained calm and said…

"The pills in this bottle are regular second-rank physical-healing pills. I made them myself."

"Second-rank physical-healing pills!?"

The father and daughter shouted in shock when they realized the type of the pills. It was so loud that Boss Tu, who was outside the carriage, had to rush in to ask what was going on instantly…

"What happened, boss?"

"N-Nothing. I was just shocked for a bit. You can go back to what you were doing."

"Yes, sir!"

After hearing from his boss that he was alright, Boss Tu went back to his duty while feeling curious about what was going on in the carriage…

"That's right. They're second-rank physical-healing pills. What's wrong?" Zheng-Fu insisted on his pills and asked the two back as he wondered why the two acted so surprised…

"It's impossible. A second-rank pill can't be that efficient. It takes the third-rank pill to do the job. No… It should be the fifth-rank pill for that kind of effect." De-Tong gave Zheng-Fu the answer immediately…

He had seen many formulas of the second-rank pills, but none of them gave this marvelous effect. De-Tong believed that Zheng-Fu's pills must at least be the fourth or fifth-rank ones…

"It's possible. These are the second-rank pills because they're just regular physical-healing pills. They just work more efficiently than other second-rank pills. Take a look at it if you don't believe me," Zheng-Fu said while pushing the bottle toward De-Tong and asking him to check it…

Grab!

"What!?"

"They're indeed physical-healing pills!" De-Tong poured a pill out of the bottle and checked. Then he saw that it was really a physical-healing pill. And just to be sure, he took out a physical-healing pill from his pocket. Then he compared the two pills and found that they were exactly the same thing, both in smell and color…

"How is that possible? It really is a physical-healing pill, but its effect was superb. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed how magical the pill was." De-Tong rubbed the pill that he took from Zheng-Fu with great care as if he were holding a big diamond…

"If you want it, why don't you take the whole bottle? There are about ten pills in there. Please take it as a gift to get to know each other." Zheng-Fu affirmed his offer to De-Tong with a calm, relaxed voice…

"Would you really want to give us this bottle of pills?" De-Na-Lan asked Zheng-Fu while feeling like she could not hide her surprise and happy face…

"Of course. Take the whole bottle. I have many of them. If you want some more, just ask me."

"You have many bottles of them!?"

The loud shout came from the carriage again, so Boss Tu ran to see De-Tong to check if he was alright one more time. And the answer from De-Tong was that everything was fine. Ever since the caravan left the front city of Wild Land, De-Tong and De-Na-Lan were shocked over and over again by the information from Zheng-Fu…

After giving the father and daughter two bottles of pills, Zheng-Fu did not have anything left to explain to them. But Zheng-Fu was the one who asked De-Tong and De-Na-Lan for some information that he wanted to know for a change. Other than that, the journey went well. They encountered some monsters, but it was not difficult for them to take care of them…

Three days had passed…

De-Tong's caravan finally entered Birdy Holy Fiery Heaven country. The country had its flags placed along its border to mark its territory. These flags were not just regular flags because they put a spell on them. If anyone tried to pull it out, the person would be attacked by the spell instantly…

"Birdy Holy Fiery Heaven country is not that different from Blue Land," Zheng-Fu mumbled to himself, but De-Tong and De-Na-Lan could hear him because it was extremely quiet both inside and outside the carriage…

"Of course, Master Fu-Zheng. Even though it's called 'Birdy Holy Fiery Heaven,' the country doesn't have many mountains or places that are full of fire that much," De-Tong said with a light laugh. He felt quite relaxed at this point…

De-Tong hardly talked at the beginning of the journey because he was nervous. However, he felt completely different after getting to know Zheng-Fu along the way. He saw that Zheng-Fu did not try to separate himself from him and his daughter. He was not arrogant at all but instead was very polite to them. De-Tong could see that Zheng-Fu was just not a talkative person…

"I see. I think it's probably that way," Zheng-Fu answered in a calm voice…

"You're right, Master Fu-Zheng. And we're about to reach the front city now!" De-Na-Lan joined the conversation. She looked excited all of a sudden…

After being on a journey for about one shichen (two hours), De-Tong's caravan finally reached the entrance of the front city. When Zheng-Fu opened the window, he had to be stunned by the huge size of the gates of the city. They were much larger than the ones in Wild Land…

*And this is just the front city. How big will the gates be if we get to more important cities?* Zheng-Fu thought while looking in the direction of the city gates…

"Stop! Where are you from? What is your business in the city?" The guard at the city gates stopped De-Tong's caravan and asked some questions…

"We're the merchants. We just came from Wild Land to do trade here, sir," De-Tong said while taking out a pass tag and a small bag. Then he handed them to the guard…

Grab!

"Merchants?" The guard took the tag and the small bag. He opened the bag and let out a big smile when he saw what was inside. Then he said…

"Alright, you can enter the city."

When the guard allowed De-Tong's caravan to enter the city, the soldiers who guarded the caravan stepped aside and let the caravan move. But then…

"Halt!"

Squeak!

The caravan and everyone in De-Tong's group could hardly stop in time when they heard someone order them to stop. They turned to where the order came from and found a middle-aged man on a horse who had just come out of the city. He also had about twenty men on their horses accompanying him too…

"Did you examine this caravan?" the middle-aged man asked the head soldier at the city gates…

"Y-Yes, sir. I a-already checked it, Commander Yun-Fei." The head of the soldiers at the city gates rushed to say that he had already examined De-Tong's caravan…

"Is that so? But I don't think you checked them thoroughly…because I saw suspicious people in the carriage. Order them to get out of there! Now!" Yun-Fei actually knew that the head soldier at the city gate had not done his duty, but he did not want to say anything much about it…

But as De-Tong was about to get back into the carriage, Yun-Fei's eyes met with another person in the carriage, which made him feel very suspicious. That was the reason he had to get on his horse and come to the gates to see for himself…

"But…"

"I told you to get the people in the carriage out of there. Didn't you hear me?!?" Yun-Fei started to get angry, and it showed on his face. His loud voice turned everyone in the area towards him…

"Is there anything wrong, Commander?" De-Tong came out of the carriage and asked Yun-Fei when he heard loud noises outside…

When Yun-Fei saw De-Tong out of the carriage, he turned to stare at De-Tong instead. The stare crinkled De-Tong's eyebrows instantly. It made him swallow a big gulp of air…

"You must be the owner of the caravan?" Yun-Fei asked De-Tong immediately…

"Yes, Commander." De-Tong cupped his fists and answered the question…

"Then tell me who else is in the carriage."

"In my carriage?" De-Tong was startled by Yun-Fei's order for him to get everyone in the carriage out. "Well…" De-Tong did not know how to respond to Yun-Fei. And then…

Thud!

"What's going on, father?" De-Na-Lan came out of the carriage in a state of confusion, just like her father when he first got out to see Yun-Fei…

"Who else is in there? Tell everyone to get out!" Yun-Fei knew that there must be another person left in the carriage after he saw De-Na-Lan, so he asked the same question…

"There's no one else in the carriage. It's just me and my father. Is that right, father?" De-Na-Lan answered with great confidence and smiled brightly at her father as if she wanted to send him a signal…

When De-Tong heard his daughter, he thought that it must be something that the mysterious martial artist wanted, so he nodded in agreement with her…

"Don't lie to me! Guard! Go and check!" Yun-Fei did not believe De-Tong and De-Na-Lan, so he ordered one of his soldiers to find out…

De-Tong started to develop a cold sweat on his forehead out of worry. But when he turned to look at his daughter, he saw that she still had that smile on her face, which helped calm him down slightly. They both looked at the soldier who was approaching the carriage…

"There's nobody else in the carriage, Commander!"

The soldier, who checked the carriage, ensured Yun-Fei that there was no one else left in the carriage with a normal look. When Yun-Fei heard that, his face turned grey in disbelief. He knew that he had seen another person in there. It was impossible that the soldier did not see anyone in there. So, he got out of his horse and soared over to the carriage to see it for himself instantly.

Then he gasped as he saw nothing and no one inside. It was like what the soldier and the woman said…

"How could that be?"
