School Beauty's Peerless Soldier

Chapter 1099: The Gloomy Castle

"This place feels a bit sinister..."

It's at least half an hour's drive from the Luocheng District.

Right now, it's deep into the night. Apart from the full moon, the sky is pitch-black, with the chilly night breeze gently wafting by. Occasionally, a ghostly cat howl breaks the silence.

The atmosphere is truly creepy, making Jiang Wu tighten his sweat-soaked grip on the steering wheel, unable to help but mutter.

Even though he's always been around Luocheng, he's never heard of such a mysterious ancient castle out here in the suburbs.

Just the two werewolves pulling the car earlier were enough to scare him witless, not to mention whatever resides in this castle now.

If it weren't for Xu Fan and his companion in the back seat, you couldn't drag Jiang Wu to a place like this.

"Alright, Mr. Jiang, you just wait in the car. We will go inside ourselves."

They've reached their destination, and now it's up to the castle's owner to reveal themselves. Xu Fan greeted Jiang Wu, then prepared to get out of the car with Gongsun Qin.

"Oh, oh, then I won't hold you two back any longer. You be... be careful."

When it comes to confrontations with gang leaders, Jiang Wu is fearless. But when facing entities far beyond his level, he truly lacks the courage.

Xu Fan letting him stay outside is something Jiang Wu is more than happy about.

After bidding farewell to Jiang Wu, Xu Fan led Gongsun Qin out of the car and walked directly to the front.

Under the car headlights, one could see the two white werewolves bent over, gasping for breath.

They were already drenched in sweat.

For Jiang Wu to reach the destination quickly, the car was sped up to one hundred eighty, and the two followed along. Even for naturally gifted werewolves, they're now exhausted.

Xu Fan untied the two leashes from the car and held them in his hands, then said, "Alright, you two, lead the way."

"Und... understood..."

The two white werewolves wiped their sweat and began to lead Xu Fan and Gongsun Qin toward the entrance of the ancient castle.

There once might have been an opportunity to escape, but now, they had no choice.

Whatever decision Xu Fan makes, they must step forward despite their reluctance.

Squeak, squeak, squeak...

They led Xu Fan and Gongsun Qin to the castle gates, giving them a push, and the ancient door creaked, slowly opening.

Squeak, squeak, squeak!

As the door gap widened, shrieks resounded from inside the castle, followed by a swarm of black bats rushing out!

They burst from inside the castle, heading straight for the bright full moon atop the sky.

Though they had no intention of attacking, the sudden commotion was quite frightening.

Xu Fan didn't react much, but Gongsun Qin instinctively grabbed Xu Fan's arm tightly.

Xu Fan frowned, looking over at Gongsun Qin.

The woman hadn't noticed his glance, weakly looking around, her body unconsciously leaning closer to Xu Fan.

"What's the matter? Scared again?"

This woman, Xu Fan really doesn't know what to say...

She may be skillful, yet she's always afraid of these trivial things. Last time, in Diannan, she was like this in the Haunted House.

If anything, this fierce lady ought to frighten those creatures instead.

Xu Fan huddled close to her and teasingly whispered.

The sudden "ghostly wind" drilling into her ear startled Gongsun Qin, who almost clung directly to Xu Fan's waist.

She shivered, then hugged Xu Fan tightly.

Quick in her movements, and swift to react, realizing her cowardly display, she reflexively let go.

"Cough cough... I, I was a bit cold just now."

Fortunately, it's already dark, or else with such a clumsy excuse, Gongsun Qin would be mortified.

Under the night sky, she awkwardly touched her nose, pondering with herself.

Xu Fan, he shouldn't tease me, right?

Before she found answers, a hand appeared at her waist, pulling her into Xu Fan's embrace.

Gongsun Qin was stunned, looking up at Xu Fan, who was holding her.

"If we huddle together, it won't be so cold."

"..."

Never having been this intimate with a man, Gongsun Qin was dazed, leaning into Xu Fan's embrace, her delicate face blooming a rosy hue.

Whether from uninvited attraction or fearing her cold excuse might be uncovered, Gongsun Qin silently allowed Xu Fan to hold her, entering the eerie castle.

Seeming to sense newcomers, under the guidance of the two white werewolves, the dark castle witnessed white candles slowly igniting one by one.

Dim red candle flames flickered, drawing Xu Fan's gaze as he surveyed the castle.

Typical medieval décor, all the furniture here was incredibly aged.

Originally, this should be a castle filled with historical vibes, yet something here rendered it bizarrely eerie.

Scattered throughout the castle were numerous redwood coffins.

Irregularly placed, unknown for their contents.

Squeak, squeak, squeak!

Pondering, a sudden squeaking sound overhead caught his attention!

Xu Fan furrowed his brow, instinctively looking up at the castle ceiling!

The ceiling was densely packed with black bats!

Clinging tightly, their crimson eyes glowed like countless shimmering blood-red stars!

Their numbers were beyond count, staring anxiously, a shiver-inducing sight.

Xu Fan was fine, but Gongsun Qin felt somewhat uncomfortable.

Sensing her fear, Xu Fan tightened his grip and comforted, "Don't be afraid, I've got you."

If he's guessing right, those resting in the coffins are likely the bloodsuckers.

They are the masters of the two white werewolves, which does make sense.

News of his visit to Luocheng should be clear to these vampires if the white werewolves know.

And perhaps, they've already informed the Huang Family...

Anyway, a chat with them is necessary now.

Immediately, Xu Fan, holding the two white werewolves, escorting the lady, shouted, "Everyone, rise and shine!"
