Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1098: Who's More Arrogant

Miss immediately opened her phone, and after seeing the content of the message, she frowned: "This is a data packet, not a text message."

"Can you open it?" Lin Tian asked.

"I'll give it a try." Miss nodded and tapped a few times on her phone, saying, "Call Nuwa, parse the data packet, is it safe?"

Lin Tian turned around in surprise for a look. He had only heard that Mrs. Xiao and Miss's phones were connected to Nuwa Intelligent System in Xiao Group's lab. It seemed to be true and quite impressive.

"Ordinary map data packet, safe," Nuwa responded with information.

Miss hesitated no longer. She immediately opened it, and a route map appeared on the screen, showing the current position and destination of everyone, along with the route.

"Lin Tian, look! This is the route map; it must be the next step of information guidance. Let's follow its navigation!" Miss said excitedly.

Both Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan were delighted. After all this time, they finally revealed the destination?

"Project the route map on the car display screen, let's depart!" Lin Tian said. The phone quickly transmitted the route map to the screen via wireless connection with the armored car's electronic equipment.

Lin Tian pressed down hard on the accelerator, and the armored car roared, accelerating forward. Thanks to the car's weight and excellent shock absorption, it maintained a good driving state even on gravel roads. In a normal car, people would be bouncing everywhere.

After passing Lu Mountain, the road became increasingly difficult, until there was simply no road—just a vast wasteland. Thankfully, all three cars had excellent off-road capabilities; otherwise, they would have been stranded a long time ago.

"Lin Tian, something's not right. It's getting more desolate up ahead, and it seems there's no name on the map," Xiao Manxuan said uneasily, peering out the window.

"Of course it's desolate. Before going to Jinghua City, the helicopter passed through here. This vast area is historically very famous," Lin Tian said calmly.

"Why?" Xiao Manxuan asked curiously.

"This is an ancient battlefield. The legendary Battle of Deer Hill happened here," Lin Tian replied.

Xiao Manxuan was surprised: "With the overgrowth and desolation, is this really where Emperor Xuan Yuan fought Chiyou? I've lived in Xikou City for so long, how come I didn't know?"

"There's a lot of debate about the location of the ancient battlefield. Several places have experts who believe it's the site of the Battle of Deer Hill, but I'm sure this is the right one," Lin Tian said confidently.

He was not an archeologist, hadn't conducted field studies, nor was he a historian who had reviewed any related historical documents. But he was confident in believing this land was indeed an ancient battlefield for one reason: the zombie girl.

The zombie girl was a figure from that era, intricately linked to the Battle of Deer Hill.

"How are you so sure this is the ancient battlefield?" Xiao Manxuan asked, more puzzled, as Miss also looked on in doubt.

"Because someone from that era traveled here and told me so," Lin Tian said truthfully. The zombie girl had experienced over five thousand years of time, appearing in the modern day.

But truth often meets disbelief. As expected, Miss and Xiao Manxuan looked skeptical, treating Lin Tian's statement as a joke.

"Lin Tian, there's light up ahead!" Miss, constantly keeping an eye on the situation ahead, suddenly shouted.

Lin Tian looked intently at the distance and indeed saw a point flashing—a sign that someone was signaling with a flashlight from afar.

Lin Tian did not understand this signal language, but there were people who did—Ghost and his team, being mercenaries, were naturally familiar with light signals.

Ghost indeed rolled down the window and said, "Brother Tian, someone ahead is signaling us to come over."

"Let's go, be careful out there," Lin Tian advised, heading toward the light.

They soon arrived at the source of the light signal, where indeed a group was waiting there—a total of six people, but all wearing black robes, with wide hoods covering their faces, making it hard to see who they were.

"Get out of the car!" A hoarse voice sounded.

Lin Tian stomped on the brake, pulling up in front of the six people: "Miss, these people are acting spooky. Later, protect Second Miss."

"No need for you to say," Miss replied.

"I can protect myself; Little Zi is quite capable," Xiao Manxuan said proudly.

The little girl was stubborn. Lin Tian could only shake his head helplessly. No matter how capable Little Zi was, she couldn't stop a bullet. He signaled Ghost with a glance, and the whole group got out of the car.

"You acted spooky bringing us here, what's your purpose? Now you can talk," Lin Tian initiated the questioning.

A black-robed figure emerged from the six, then waved his hand behind him and said: "Tie up those two women!"

"Don't you dare!" Stone and several others immediately stepped forward and shouted.

Having teased them for so long, they wanted to tie them up at first sight—Ghost Team was already fuming. Previously, only they had the chance to toy with the enemy, but when had they ever been toyed with like this?

The leading black-robed man seemed fearless, sneered coldly, and said: "You better not resist, because every misstep you make might cost Chairman Li his life!"

"What did you say? My mom is really in your hands?" Miss's gaze turned cold as she stepped forward, glaring at the black-robed man.

"Hmph, you should have guessed long ago. Otherwise, why did you follow our guidance?" The leading black-robed man snorted coldly.

"Ghost, stop messing around with them; tie up the leader and beat him," Lin Tian raised his eyebrows and said coldly.

"You..." The leading black-robed man seemed quite riled up. So arrogant—who's got the hostages now? The black-robed man yelled sharply again: "You better not doubt my words. If you dare disobey, I'll have someone cut a finger off Chairman Li first!"

"If you dare touch my mom, I'll kill you!" Xiao Manxuan shouted aggressively with wide eyes, an air about her as she mentioned the word kill—a typically kind little girl.

Lin Tian was somewhat intrigued, but with Xiao Manxuan being just an ordinary person, where was this aura coming from? But now wasn't the time to explore further. He patted the little girl's shoulder, urging her to stay calm, then said to the black-robed man: "As for what you do with Mrs. Xiao, it's not up to you, a little minion."

"Ghost, why are you still standing there? Beat the heck out of him!" Lin Tian commanded bullishly.

"Alright!"

The Ghost Team had been itching to strike. As soon as Lin Tian ordered, they charged forward with a yell. The black-robed man was dumbfounded; even though he held hostages, the opposition was acting more arrogant than himself.

He had no choice but to wave his hand, sending his men to bear the charge. Ghost instantly targeted the leading black-robed man, rushing up to throw a punch at his throat!
