Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny

Chapter 459: Sword and Ringing

Darkness surged like a tide, ravaging downward.

Layer upon layer of ripples transformed into waves, flowing across the sky, continuously sweeping toward that brilliant star.

The tides within the vortex were rising, rushing toward the present world. It was as if the firmament was collapsing, crashing toward the earth, making all things appear as ants, immersing everything in destruction.

Yet those waves repeatedly crashed against an invisible wall, returning futilely.

The Heavenly Furnace hung high between the sea and sky.

The cold light blossomed from the staff he held, illuminating the blood-soaked darkness, where floating incomplete corpses were suspended in the air.

Even on his face, neck, the back of his hand, and across his chest, were cracks.

Blood trickled in scarlet rivulets, dripping, silently staining the sea crimson.

His white clothes were dyed with blood, his face expressionless.

From the beginning till now, only a short ten minutes had passed, yet it seemed as long as several days, making every observer's heart race to their throat.

No one knew how much longer he could withstand.

Even though there were unknown powerful foes lurking amidst the darkness, compared to such an existence, they were nothing more than clay chickens and pottery dogs; no matter how swift their assault, it merely provoked laughter.

The real pressure came from the vortex gradually approaching the present world.

Even from the Crack Realm beneath his feet…

In his hands, that seemingly ordinary silver staff stood still, like an impediment caught between giant gears.

Forcibly holding the Crack Realm and this sea area onto the present world, pulling it, preventing it from plunging into the expanding vortex.

Like a nail.

So-called—[Wedge]!

Yet the [Wedge] has its limits.

Even as a Saint, how long can one persist?

Everyone wanted to know, in this sea beyond the reach of the power of the Heavenly Governor and Earth Emperor, how long can a single entity withhold under such calamity of heaven's fall?!

Waves surged, stars flew, heaven shook, and earth quaked.

The situation seemed promising, yet those figures in the darkness appeared to gradually retreat, attempting to distance themselves.

"Everyone, don't be afraid!"

"There is only one opponent!"

"Let's advance together side by side!"

"Could it be that the Heavenly Furnace has three heads and six arms? As long as we are united in purpose, we can definitely sever its head!"

Regrettably, no one voiced such words.

Such foolishness typically doesn't survive to be called a Heavenly Person, generally already dead. Those surviving until now might not have envisioned...

Someone in this world could be this powerful!

It's like a nightmare!

"Hmm? Shui Jiao, Bai Hong, Ten Thousand Hands... Oh, when did Brother Xie Yan and Miss Corpse Mountain arrive? It's been quite a while, isn't it rare for everyone to watch so long, why not come forward to chat for old times' sake?"

The Heavenly Furnace indifferently raised a hand, wiping away a drop of blood not his own from his face, grinning: "Why would anyone fear an old dog like me, who displays itself publicly for sale?

Rest assured, I've only brought nine Heavenly Artisans this time, just some odds and ends, exhausted already; if you besiege, I might die immediately."

No one responded.

Whether it was the facade of a depleted force or the confidence of a well-prepared trap, no one wanted to rush forward to die.

The 'youngsters' who had never seen the Heavenly Furnace in action, even if not dead, having seen it now, how could they not see the situation clearly?

Even if the Heavenly Furnace dog is truly exhausted, at the very least, it can drag down three... no, at least five or six people with it before its death!

Unable to fight head-on, and the subordinates they sent into the Crack Realm die like flies, everyone present felt a suffocating sense of being caught in a bind, even a malicious expectation.

Just keep holding on, keep holding on!

Let's see how long you can hold on; don't let the Crack Realm drag you under the vortex... Who knows what awaits you down below!

Boom!!!

With an earth-shaking roar, the Great Evil's eye on the firmament suddenly expanded.

Under the darkness enshrouded in rainbow light, massive silhouettes roamed hungrily, those under the vortex's monstrous spawn had long been impatient, smelling the sweet scent wafting over, nearly leaping out of the vortex!

Darkness swirled, enormous scales and bizarre claws appeared in and out, ceaselessly probing the present world's edge, eager to try.

Then, cracking, began!

Accompanied by the hoarse and mad laughter within the Crack Realm, the entire sea area suddenly trembled once more, countless fissures expanded outward from the void.

Like a ship sinking into the sea, gradually twisting under high pressure, the viscous blackness erupted from the crevices, gushing into the present world.

Finally, reaching the limit!

Laughter echoed crazily.

Lu Changsheng, that guy, did well! Did well indeed!

Just as everyone's heart stirred, eyes widened, they saw the entire Crack Realm suddenly sink toward the vortex, pulling the entire sea area down again amid piercing laughter!

Just a hairsbreadth away.

The Heavenly Furnace's face changed drastically.

Before him, one by one, the cracks on his staff appeared out of thin air, unable to support anymore!

Instinctively reaching out, tightly grasping with force!

Boom!!!

Outside the Crack Realm, the last fragile Boundary Membrane tore a massive fissure, even rapidly spreading.

Now!

Amidst the darkness, the eerie silhouettes that had been waiting long exploded forth, rushing toward the ever-clearer temple within the Crack Realm!

Before that, in the void, a space gap suddenly split open, followed by a colossal entity that had been observing for who knows how long, striking fiercely!
