Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny

Chapter 357: Flying Light and Flames

Ji Jue didn't speak; he picked up his binoculars.

Amidst the still raging snowstorm, a convoy slowly drove in from the distant horizon, the hastily applied white paint peeling off to faintly reveal the heavily armored body beneath.

A normal rescue team wouldn't have so many Chosen Ones.

Nor would they carry so many weapons.

Nor would they be so blatant.

"...just a bit, a little slower, right here!"

Ji Jue glanced, and the radio hanging on his chest automatically connected to their internal channel: "Lead vehicle, be careful. Once identified, don't advance too far; there's a White Deer in there!"

"Beware of the craftsman; reportedly, it's very sinister."

"Don't get too close. Rear vehicles, prepare your gear."

"Are they still alive? In such a huge blizzard, even the locals can barely survive. Might have frozen to death."

"If they're dead, even better. Take some pictures of the bodies; we can earn millions."

From the noisy channel came the sound of laughter.

"A bunch of puny cowards."

Ji Jue sighed regretfully, "It's just begun, and already they can't hold back. The plates are brought to the table, but not a single main dish... Can it be handled?"

"Hey? By myself?"

An Ning picked up on his suggestion, immediately showing reluctance: "I was hoping to team up with Brother Ji Jue, defeat strong enemies, and enhance our bond and feelings."

"This isn't some spirited manga; where would you get something like that?"

"What about feelings then?"

"Sorry, none of that either."

Ji Jue glanced at An Ning, who was still trying to bargain, and delivered a decisive blow: "Little An's better; communicating with him isn't so troublesome."

"Tsk—"

An Ning clicked her tongue, cheeks puffed up between her turned-up collar and large hat, glaring at Ji Jue with hands in his pockets, then sulkingly fell silent.

Striding through the snow powder and ice layers, she walked forward.

She's mad.

Ji Jue yawned, didn't console her, and sat on the hood of the vehicle, leisurely watching.

The mercury limbs behind extended, retrieved two titanium steel cups and tea bags from the bag, slowly poured water, no need to light a fire, he simply covered it with his hands to heat it up.

Seeing Ji Jue inactive, An Ning glanced back, more frustrated.

Then, she heard a voice behind her.

"If you're too slow, the tea will get cold."

An Ning paused her movements, stomped in place, seemingly hummed once.

Then, she quickened her steps.

Gesturing toward the distant convoy.

She jumped.

"Help! Help! Come quickly, help!"

Emotionless shouting, attracting attention with zero acting skills.

"Found them! Found them!!"

The radio transmitted a delighted shout: "It's a girl; the guy's found too, behind, must have broken down—hurry, prepare, prepare!"

In that instant, a burst sounded suddenly.

The entire convoy, all six vehicles, jerked abruptly; all tires burst instantaneously, almost simultaneously lost power, skidded in place, and, in the violent shaking, some vehicles even toppled off the road and started rolling.

Under the darkened sky, amid the reflections of lingering snow and cracked ice, a line of faint light flashed by.

Like threading a needle, it gracefully danced and interlaced, effortlessly slashing through all the reinforced explosion-proof tires in an instant.

The source invisible, the destination untraceable, only the fleeting trajectory discernible.

An Ning's movements were hardly perceivable.

She just walked upon the snow, unimpeded, as the piled powder and slippery ice posed no obstacle, leaving no footprints.

Like a ghost drifting above snow and ice.

Screams erupted, followed by shouts, the radio turning chaotic, with hoarse roars: "Fire! Fire!!!"

By now, was there any other option than to open fire?

At once, on the vehicles struggling to stabilize from sliding, behind every opened door, black gun barrels raised, firing chaotically and urgently.

Even on the vehicles that hadn't flipped, someone pushed out a machine gun, face twisted with rage, pulling the trigger.

A storm of metal rushes forth!

But it was of no use.

Between true torrents of bullets and gunfire, An Ning's steps never halted, never quickened. Against countless trajectories, she moved calmly forward, slightly tilting her head or shifting her body, dodging the deadly shots in the storm, finally raising her hand, grabbing in mid-air, and suddenly between her fingers, appearing a thumb-thick, hot armor-piercing bullet tip.

Tungsten alloy armor-piercing round, marked by Spiritual Circuit traces, with internal glass tubes supposedly filled with some kind of liquid destructive substance, yet now showing no activation signs.

The bullet's kinetic energy dissipated in an instant, not even given a chance to impact.

Then, a flick—throwing it—

Boom!!!

A vehicle in the corner, awkwardly reversing, exploded suddenly, engulfed in blinding fire and flames, dissolving instantaneously into a pool of residue, in the spreading mist, those climbing out screamed in horror, crying, faces twisted, as if plunged into Hell.

Just a brief touch with the mist, each silhouette froze in place, skin splitting, carbonizing, rapidly dehydrating, consumed by spreading flames, burned to ashes.

Chemical weapons!

Moreover, it's enhanced and purified with alchemy, specifically targeting high-threat objectives, even allowing average individuals to use it freely.
