After the early morning, the camp remained busy with people coming and going, and numerous military vehicles shuttling back and forth. Those who patrolled the area returned with a hint of weariness.
A few people, who had finished breakfast, walked out of the dining hall and, from a distance, saw the figures of Ye Xian and Ji Jue, seemingly changing color slightly before lowering their heads and quickening their pace to hurriedly leave.
There were, however, a few veterans who stopped in their tracks upon seeing them, but they just nodded in acknowledgment without approaching.
This made Ji Jue scratch his head, unable to help but think that his own lineage wasn't exactly well-regarded in the industry.
But, that seemed normal.
If Professor Ye were to speak softly and pleasantly one day, Ji Jue would actually feel like he had walked into some peculiar anomaly.
Now that he had come here, he couldn't help but crane his neck to look around.
He looked towards the direction of the Spring City Ruins, beyond the camp.
Unfortunately, there was only a thick fog that was so dense it obscured everything. In the vagueness, it seemed as if there were outlines and traces of some buildings, but nothing could be discerned clearly.
Without turning his head, Professor Ye said, "Don't bother wasting your effort. After so many years and numerous construction projects, from the subconscious signals that repel people to the Heavenly Origin System's isolation and the Embers' blockade, one cannot see anything from the outside."
"Wasn't it said to be collapsed? I see no signs of earthquakes or fissures," Ji Jue asked curiously.
"It would be odd if there were any."
Ye Xian shook his head, "'Collapse' is a term relative to our world and space. It refers to the proximity to the Superior—the closer to the Superior, the more it is considered a Sacred Place. The farther from the Superior, the closer it is to an Evil Domain.
Nowadays, Spring City is probably on the brink of leaving our world, approaching the vortex. Although it is still connected with our world, it's akin to the Crack Realm, and it wouldn't be strange if it were to completely fall at any moment."
If it were just a matter of falling, that might be better.
However, Spring City was such a vast area that if it were to completely collapse into the vortex, it would likely create a massive hole in our world, and that's when real catastrophe would be boundless.
For so many years, it had not ascended nor had it been allowed to completely fall. Neither here nor there, it hung over everyone's Achilles' heel, in a word, tormenting.
If they could completely resolve the matter in one fell swoop, it would certainly be a tremendously good thing.
But the question was, could it really be resolved?
An unanswered question hung in everyone's hearts.
Yet, the closer Ji Jue followed Ye Xian, the more his heart settled, and this sense of peace also made him feel somewhat incredulous. It was entirely a subconscious feeling.
It was as if he had entered a sanctuary. Even though Spring City Cave was right before his eyes, there was an instinctual sense of reliance.
Not just mentally, but even the spiritual essence within him stabilized, and the spontaneous emanation and dispersion disappeared altogether. It circulated tamely, confined within his body.
It was as though he was wading through deep water, feeling the presence of resistance.
Some invisible force filled the air, quelling all chaos and strife, erecting rules and standards, making everything seem clear and straightforward, with evidence to follow.
It was as if invisible eyes were suspended high above the heavens, overlooking everything.
Witnessing all.
Unconcealed, yet not provoking any aversion or disdain.
Within this domain, all spiritual essence movement was traceable, and all powers and blessings retracted into themselves. They weren't uncontrollable, but it was as if swords had been sheathed; any change would be known and understood.
And indeed, suppressed!
Ji Jue had no doubt that such elevated power was not just for surveillance; should there be any turmoil, it might be immediately quelled with a backhand.
What shocked him even more was that, even with all his sensory perception, he could not reach the end of this domain.
It was as if the entire surrounding area of Spring City was encompassed within it!
That was rather... overly exaggerated...
"This is why I told you to get out more. Always sticking around in Cliff City's small patch of land won't broaden your horizons. Staying too long in cramped corners will make one petty and short-sighted."
Walking ahead, Ye Xian spoke indifferently, "This is the Circle Realm of the Heavenly Origin System.
If a Transcend Rank Chosen One, with enough matrix and blessings, were to exert their strength fully, they would form a vast domain capable of intervening with reality. You've seen it before, haven't you?"
Ji Jue nodded.
He recalled the time when Wen's sister and Lawrence used their full power, causing the entire Jici Hospital's Crystal Domain to become Static.
Covering reality with will, replacing events with spirit, reversing oneself to Erode the world... To reach such a level was like an origin stone revealing its peerless radiance.
Ji Jue curiously asked, "But... to maintain such a huge Circle Realm every day, wouldn't that be exhausting?"
"Who knows?" Ye Xian shook his head slightly, "For the Heavenly People, it's probably just a slight toil, or perhaps, they do not care."
Heavenly People.
Ji Jue's breath caught for a moment.
Suddenly, he felt an increase in his sense of stability.
Heavenly People... Those who have transcended the boundary between mortals and gods and touched upon Heavenly Destiny, their strength, and abilities are beyond ordinary imagination.
If the Heavenly People took action, the issue of Spring City might indeed be manageable!
He suddenly felt a surge of confidence.
The Professor Ye walking ahead seemed to sense something, turning back to look at him with what appeared to be sympathy, yet he said nothing.
Ten minutes later, Ji Jue started wanting to give his earlier self a good slap.
What was he thinking?
Manageable my ass! It was utterly doomed...
Better pack up and go home!
