Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny

Chapter 103: Harvest

As everyone knows, the point of the game is loot, acquiring equipment and materials, and even golden coins that burst out from the boss.

If there isn't a smidgen of local specialty, wouldn't it be like doing community service? Besides, even community service would at least get you a couple of eggs to boost the help!

Now, the battle had ended, the loot was collected, and appraisal was complete.

It was time to everyone's delight for dividing the money.

After all, Little An was a top-tier player. Even with Wen Wen's arrangements and the fan effect, it wouldn't make sense for her to work for free under your group, would it, Ji?

What's the gain? Having cosy touchy moments with GIEGIE?

Forget it.

There are many things in the world you can freeload, some sweets handed to you that you can criticize after munching, but some gratitudes are best not owed—bad for the conscience and defeating in character, taking advantage of the unknowing kids. Surely the adults and friends at home would realize what kind of stuff you, Ji, are made of?

Ji Jue had put forth half of the total loot from this hunt.

But in reality, this pile accounted for less than one-tenth of the total value of the gains. It included materials easily converted into currency, precious metals, and even Time Sand Crystals.

In Mercury's workshop, the only items easy to convert into money or "of clear value" were these.

Comparatively, they were the least valuable.

After all, one might say, anyone can have money, but can you buy Fluid Alchemy with money? Can you buy Saint's treasured blessings? Or those materials in the storeroom that have long been out of circulation? Many are inherently paired with the workshop and Fluid Alchemy, unique, and hefty paper figures won't get you a single fillet inside.

Priceless, or rather, it doesn't even have a price.

And some exist only in trades among various large-scale workshops, where the losses or profits are known only to the traders themselves.

If Ji Jue was shameless enough, he could have taken out the theoretically most valuable Ether Crystal, which was the control core of the entire Crack Realm, weighing forty-one kilograms, seamless and natural. After being processed by Mercury, its purity had reached the theoretical limit, making it a rare gem in the world!

Whether used as the engine core of an island-class battleship or to command a large range of alchemy creations, it was enough. Put on the market, it could easily rake in billions, securing castles, beauties, and yachts.

The only downside was... after Mercury's modification, it could only match Fluid Alchemy. Switching to Modern Alchemy, no matter the school, the efficiency wouldn't reach even a tenth.

Forget selling it, such strategic resources were endlessly troubling just to possess; better to just leave it stored under the teacher's workshop.

And, more awkwardly, most of this time's gains were just like that.

No help for it, the Saint's house had no surplus either.

Centuries ago, in an effort to turn the Crack Realm into a workshop, Mercury had already disposed of most of the valuable items in his collection, leaving only those that highly matched Fluid Alchemy, which Ji Jue would barely have enough for himself. Or items too rare and commendable even for masters to consider selling, as it would strictly be an act of squandering wealth.

Thus, after reviewing the loot on hand, Ji Jue realized that he was only left with tons of materials, very few of which could be turned into cash.

And even then, the benefits had all been taken by himself.

To the point where he felt guilty, a nagging pain within.

"Damn—"

Finally coming to her senses, Tong Hua, with the backing of Wen Wen, peeked out from behind and looked at the opened chest, her eyes already brightened by the gleam of the metals, incredulously, "Did you guys raid the Crack Realm or rob a bank?!"

Gleaming gold, glowing orange, and sparkling silver...

As the only rich girl in the group, she casually estimated the total weight and value, and couldn't help but gasp a few cold breaths. After all, besides the properties of the precious metals themselves, most of them were antiques challenging to assess by actual value.

Most still carried trademarks of the Eternal Empire era.

Dumping such a bulk of items on the market might even provoke a significant shake-up in the Federation's antiques industry.

As the Chosen One of the Ether Path, she had instinctively picked up a delicate and gorgeous clock, wiped the dust off it with her sleeve, and sniffed deeply.

A rich ancient aroma assaulted her face.

Ninety-nine percent authenticity, truly a rare item!

Just as Wen Wen was about to intervene, Tong Hua's eyes suddenly brightened, then immediately after, everything went dark as if kicked brutally, and she screamed out.

"Ah, my precious eyes!"

She rolled on the couch, her hands covering her eyes while old Zhang and Wen Wen were already used to it—one held her down, the other administered eye drops.

Ji Jue's expression twitched, admiring someone's courage for the first time. You might say she was brave as she acted terrified on seeing him each time; yet, she dared to look at just about anything.

Yesterday's reenacting Matrix allowed the Chosen One to read the history and images of the past through interactions, a top-tier matrix even rare in the Ether Path.

But, for the past four hundred years, time rewinds in Mercury's workshop had never stopped—a matter how well-traveled the antiques, after such complex interference, the records had all turned into garbled documents, hardly making any coherent sense.
