Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 219 Intense Battle

The fugitives refused to play by the book.

Most criminals would desperately flee toward the city outskirts, but this group was different. They had randomly picked an unlucky taxi driver and then started a chaotic game of cat and mouse within Hantan City itself.

The buildings in Hantan City's urban area were incredibly dense, which left the pursuer, Song Feng, feeling like his hands were tied. He had no choice; any damage to the surrounding architecture would require compensation, and the people from the Financial Bureau would be hassling him again. He had initially thought this stalemate would last for a while, but it seemed the fugitives had other plans. They stopped the taxi and got out. Are they surrendering?

A look of delight crossed Song Feng's face as he and his team swiftly exited their vehicles. The special forces team approached as if facing a formidable enemy, fanning out in a practiced formation. Encased in heavy riot armor, each step they took landed with a dull thud. The muzzles of their guns, gleaming with a cold metallic light, were pointed directly at the two kids across the square.

Through a megaphone, Song Feng issued a stern warning.

"Criminals ahead, you are surrounded! Abandon all resistance and come with us peacefully!

"As the director of the Security Bureau, I can promise you a way out of this alive.

"If you resist, we will use lethal force."

His voice echoed across the empty square but received no response. Lilia simply tilted her head up slightly, her clear eyes glinting with a strange, cold light. She stood her ground stubbornly, showing no intention of compromising.

The next second, Wei Hao's gravity crushed the aircraft hovering in the air around them.

As the explosions roared, Song Feng's expression turned grim. In that single instant, dozens of his elite troops were dead—and that was his entire aerial force. They hadn't even had a chance to launch the short-range missiles carried by the aircraft. The missiles were instead detonated by the violent impact of the crashes, causing immense damage to the surrounding buildings and sending shockwaves through the civilian population. Even from a distance, he could hear the sounds of crying and wailing.

"Open fire!" he roared. "Don't hold back!"

Ignoring the capture order from his superiors, Song Feng directly commanded his men to attack. This was precisely why, despite being a Level 6 powerhouse, he was only the director of a security bureau—he was too quick to anger and reckless of the consequences.

At Song Feng's command, the combat-ready team members pulled their triggers, unleashing a storm of bullets toward the lone taxi. By now, everyone but the driver had exited the car.

Facing the dense barrage, Lilia gently raised a slender, fair hand.

Instantly, the ground began to tremble violently. Countless shards of rock and debris, as if imbued with life, were propelled into the air by her Telekinesis. Like a swarm of angry hornets, they howled as they surged toward the police. The stones rained down on their cover, creating a deafening CLATTER. The powerful impacts sent many officers and soldiers screaming in pain.

Porcupine was even more direct. Ignoring the hail of bullets, he simply grabbed abandoned vehicles from the roadside, one in each hand, and hurled them at the opposition.

The only two who didn't launch an attack were Chen Pingchuan and Wei Hao.

Chen Pingchuan watched the scene unfold as if it were a movie. Was it 'Crime City' or 'Vice City'? he muttered to himself, thinking of a game he'd played in his past life. The scene was quite similar. It seemed the four of them had become the city's arch-villains, wantonly laying waste to it.

Aside from his initial attack on the airborne enemies, Wei Hao didn't strike again. Of course, that didn't mean he was idle. Any bullet that flew within five meters of the four of them was caught in an inexplicable gravitational field, its kinetic energy instantly depleted, causing it to fall harmlessly to the ground.

"Hee hee hee… Following the boss is such a thrill!" Lilia giggled as she watched the chaos.

Stones slipped through the gaps in the officers' riot shields with deadly precision, mercilessly striking the men behind them. Cries of pain erupted from the squad as a hint of panic disrupted their once orderly formation. Yet, no matter how furiously they attacked, they couldn't harm the four fugitives.

He watched as his colleagues and comrades fell around him. Even the snipers hidden in the distant high-rises couldn't inflict a single casualty. On the rare occasion that a high-powered bullet managed to push through the gravity field, it was effortlessly blocked by an air shield that Lilia had condensed from thin air.

Song Feng's eyes were practically bursting with rage. He could no longer bear it. He tossed his firearm aside and leaped from behind the cover of a vehicle. Ignoring the stinging pain of the pebbles striking his body, he charged through the storm of debris, closing the distance to Chen Pingchuan to just over a hundred meters.

Seeing this, Lilia's lips curled into a disdainful smirk, and she was about to deal with Song Feng herself when Chen Pingchuan's cold voice cut through the air.

"Alright, stop playing."

"You, deal with the small fry. I expect the military will be sent to suppress us soon. We can't play around here for too long."

Chen Pingchuan's words managed to cool Lilia's killing frenzy. She let out a few soft giggles as her beautiful eyes shifted. "Alright, Boss. I'll clean up the scene."

With that, Lilia's Telekinesis surged forth again, this time targeting the firearms in the officers' hands. The police suddenly felt their weapons being ripped from their grasp by an immense force. No matter how tightly they held on, they couldn't stop the guns from flying out of their hands. The firearms danced erratically in the air as if tugged by invisible strings before being slammed violently to the ground. Amidst a continuous clatter of metal, they were twisted and warped into a pile of useless scrap.

Next, with a light wave of her hands, Lilia sent all the wrecked vehicles on the road flying as if shoved by giant arms. They were instantly hurled dozens of meters away, clearing a vast, empty space in front of the four of them.

Song Feng saw his chance. Relying on his agility, he tried to dash in from the side to take out Lilia first. Like his rhinoceros beast pet, he charged toward her with unstoppable momentum, his body a blurred black shadow cutting through the air.

Lilia merely flicked him a glance from the corner of her eye.

In an instant, Song Feng felt as if he'd been hit head-on by a speeding truck. His entire body reeled from the impact, feeling like it might fall apart. Although his body ached and his charge had slowed, it did nothing to dampen his resolve to kill Lilia.

Just as Song Feng was about to reach her, he roared involuntarily, "Die!"
