Chapter 198: Unexpected Disappearance

Facing Jiang Fulong's attack, Chen Pingchuan was unflustered. He crossed his arms and blocked upward.

CLANG!

His arms withstood Jiang Fulong's fierce kick. His legs bent slightly under the tremendous force, stamping two deep footprints into the ground.

Taking advantage of the moment he landed, Jiang Fulong surged forward again. He abandoned his plan for long-range attacks, his entire body becoming like a frenzied bull as he repeatedly rammed himself into Chen Pingchuan. Each impact was accompanied by a dull thud, and the continuous collisions forced Chen Pingchuan to retreat.

While retreating, Chen Pingchuan came to a sudden halt. He took a deep breath as the power within him began to surge wildly. Although Jiang Fulong's attacks seemed fierce, Chen Pingchuan could already sense his opponent's stamina and physical condition were waning.

"Good timing!" Chen Pingchuan shouted. He clenched his fists and smashed them forward, a powerful force bursting from them toward Jiang Fulong.

BANG!

Jiang Fulong couldn't dodge in time and was struck head-on by the immense force. His body flew backward like a kite with a broken string, smashing heavily against the wall and creating a person-shaped crater.

Jiang Fulong wiped the blood seeping from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, the bright red leaving a stark trail on his rough skin. His eyes were fixed on Chen Pingchuan, with only one thought in his mind.

Stand up. I absolutely can't fall here. I still have a chance.

He tried to climb up from the debris, but every movement was accompanied by piercing pain, as if all his bones were protesting. Once, twice, three times—each time he managed to stand, his body would uncontrollably collapse again.

Chen Pingchuan stood silently, coldly observing Jiang Fulong's pathetic state. His expression was unchanged, and he showed no intention of taking the opportunity to attack, as if he were playing a game of cat and mouse.

With each fall and struggle, Jiang Fulong's resentment and anger only grew stronger. He tried more than ten times, and with each failure, his gaze became more determined. Finally, after an incredibly difficult struggle, his feet found a firm hold on the ground. Though his body still swayed, he did not fall again.

At this moment, the ghastly wound on his right arm was like an open floodgate, blood gushing out like a fountain and instantly dying half of his body red. Due to the earlier collisions and energy impacts, his forehead had been gashed open as well. Blood flowed freely from the long wound, the warm liquid trickling down his cheeks and dripping onto the dusty ground, splattering into tiny crimson blossoms. His nose was also bleeding, the dark red fluid oozing from his nostrils to mix with the blood at the corner of his mouth, making him look like a demon crawling out of Hell. His eyes were bloodshot, with blood even seeping from the corners, adding another layer of terror to his crazed and desperate gaze. Even the palm of his remaining left hand had been cut by the rubble, and blood dripped steadily to the floor at his feet.

"You're a ruthless one, kid!" Jiang Fulong spat a mouthful of bloody foam onto the ground, the blood seeming to carry his resentment with it. His gaze roamed over Chen Pingchuan when, suddenly, a crafty glint flashed in his eyes.

He knew he had little chance of victory in a direct confrontation; only by escaping could he one day seek revenge. He discreetly reached into his robe and retrieved a cobalt-blue metal sphere. His fingers clenched tightly around the ball as he silently calculated the right moment to activate it, all while continuing to speak to distract Chen Pingchuan.

"You're lucky today, but don't get cocky! We'll settle this score sooner or later! I, Jiang Fulong, swear it..."

However, a rare look of urgency suddenly appeared on Chen Pingchuan's previously calm face. He recognized the metal ball's function—something Jiang Fulong thought impossible, as he had acquired it by accident and didn't even understand how to use it himself. As soon as he saw the cobalt-blue metal ball, Chen Pingchuan instinctively used his appraisal skill.

"Stop him!" Chen Pingchuan's panicked roar seemed poised to tear the room apart. His figure blurred, becoming a dazzling lightning bolt as he streaked toward Jiang Fulong.

Jiang Fulong saw Chen Pingchuan approaching at lightning speed and couldn't help but sneer. "Too late. Farewell!"

The words still lingered in the air when—

BANG!

A gunshot suddenly exploded by his ear like a clap of thunder. Simultaneously, an immense force slammed into his hand, knocking the metal sphere away like a shooting star.

Jiang Fulong didn't have time to see who had ruined his plan. He dashed toward the spot where the metal ball had fallen, desperate to reclaim the device that was his only hope of escape. But someone was faster. A hand snatched the metal ball first.

In an instant, a bright light flashed, and Chen Pingchuan's figure vanished without a trace.

"ARGHHH!!!"

Jiang Fulong's anguished screams echoed through the room once more. Gelieza had brutally ripped his remaining left arm off with sheer force. As the excruciating pain hit, his arm went numb. Jiang Fulong fought back the tears welling in his eyes from the pain and looked up at the towering, powerfully built man before him. For some reason, he felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

He was filled with terror and tried to plead for his life. "Brother, please, show some mercy! Spare me! I can give you anything you want! I have money, countless women, I have—"

But before he could finish, Gelieza's eyes widened with a rage so intense it was practically spewing from them. The indignation in his heart surged like a tidal wave. His mission target had vanished right from under his nose in that strange flash of light, and the culprit responsible for all of it was this wretched man before him. Gelieza gritted his teeth, glaring fiercely at Jiang Fulong as he roared:
