Chapter 196: Successful Rendezvous

It was a dark and windy night—the perfect time for a killing.

Although this world had no moon, all other conditions were met.

Chen Pingchuan and his two companions appeared like harbingers of death before Jiang Fulong's residence.

From the outside, the house appeared grand, yet it exuded a strange, deathly stillness. All its windows were tightly secured with iron bars.

"Boss, what now?" Liu Haofeng's gaze swept around the house. "It seems impossible to get in without making a sound." His voice was unconsciously low, but he couldn't hide his frustration. The tightly locked iron door made him furrow his brow, leaving him at a loss.

Their operation had been exceedingly smooth until now, almost beyond imagination. But here at the final rendezvous point, they were stopped by a simple iron gate. The absence of guards meant there were no keys. A silent ambush was no longer an option.

"Fine." Chen Pingchuan's eyes flashed with determination. His tone was light, yet it carried a force that seemed to decide life and death. "Since a stealthy approach is out of the question, we'll just force our way in."

"Alright, let's do it!" At Chen Pingchuan's command, Liu Haofeng felt a surge of excitement. "It's just the Black Skull Boss in there, with maybe three or four of his cronies at most. They can't cause much trouble. Erzhuang, you open the door." Gelieza had just led him on a sweep of multiple enemy strongholds within the camp, and now they were at the final step: dealing with the enemy leader. To be honest, he was a little thrilled.

Gelieza stepped forward, his massive frame like a small mountain. He said in a deep, rumbling voice, "I'll try to be quiet, but if that's not possible, I'll just break down the door as quickly as I can."

As he spoke, the veins on his arms bulged, looking like two angry dragons writhing beneath his skin. With a muffled grunt, he exerted his immense strength. Under his tremendous force, the huge iron door began to twist and deform like dough. The lock emitted sharp, metallic shrieks, as if begging for mercy.

Just as they thought it would take more effort, a sharp CLICK echoed, and the lock suddenly sprang open.

At that same moment, a woman in revealing clothes appeared before them like a ghost.

The unexpected development at the door made Chen Pingchuan tense, even though his previous words had dismissed the enemy. Despise your enemy on a strategic level, but respect them on a tactical level. Chen Pingchuan would never make such a careless mistake. He already had a rough estimate of the Black Skull Boss's power. The man couldn't possibly be a Seventh-level Grandmaster.

There were two reasons for this. Firstly, a Seventh-level Grandmaster wouldn't hide in such a backwater place. Secondly, during the battle that afternoon, the Black Skull Legion had suffered devastating casualties, yet their leader chose to retreat and flee. That was not the action of a Grandmaster. After all, there was a saying in this world: A Grandmaster cannot be insulted!

Since he wasn't a Seventh-level Grandmaster, taking him down would not be a problem, regardless of whether he was a Level 6 Genetic Warrior or some other powerful individual. Between himself and the still-enigmatic Gelieza, they had more than enough power. Even in the worst-case scenario, escaping unscathed would be easy. But who was this person at the door?

For an instant, time seemed to freeze, solidifying in the eerie atmosphere. The four of them—three outside the door, one inside—stared at each other, their gazes a mixture of shock and confusion.

"Who are you?"

The woman broke the suffocating silence. Her voice trembled slightly, yet that tremor held an indescribable trace of anticipation.

It was no wonder she had such wild thoughts. Based on their actions alone—sneaking around in the dead of night and prying open a man's front door—it was obvious they were here to cause trouble for Jiang Fulong. After all, who would do such a thing without a grudge?

"Don't make a sound, and we won't hurt you," Liu Haofeng spoke first, his words tinged with a threat. "We're here looking for... uh..."

But when his gaze fell upon the beautiful woman, his heart skipped a beat. If not for that sudden flutter, he probably wouldn't have been so quick to speak up and warn her. He knew that if he had been a few seconds later, his companions might have simply ended the life of this pitiful-looking woman.

"Jiang Fulong." The woman's voice trembled, a mixture of fear and excitement.

"What?" Liu Haofeng, hearing the name for the first time, was taken aback and instinctively voiced his confusion.

"I said, the man you're looking for is Jiang Fulong," she repeated. "He's the boss of the Black Skull Camp."

"He's an absolute demon. His sins are too numerous to count. He has murdered countless people—innocent travelers and the women he tortured until they lost their minds... A man like him deserves to die. He deserves to go to Hell!"

As she spoke, her emotions spiraled until she was reduced to quiet sobs.

Of the three men, only Chen Pingchuan could guess at the reason for her state; she had likely suffered inhuman abuse. He simply stood aside in silence, not intervening. After a long moment, the woman gradually composed herself, raising a delicate hand to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.

"Pardon me. Follow me."

"I'll take you to his bedroom. He's always careful to hide the keypad, but I figured out the password."

She turned to lead the way, but after a few steps, she looked back at the three of them. "Oh, right," she added. "His skin is incredibly tough, so if you're not prepared, you can always wait for another opportunity. I can provide a cover for you." Her voice grew worried again. "If you can't kill him silently, his men will come, and you won't be able to escape. Then, not only will you have failed to kill the demon, but if he captures you..."

"Don't worry about it," Chen Pingchuan said calmly. "Just take us to him. You don't need to worry about what comes next."

The woman hesitated for a moment, then said softly, "Okay!" Her voice was resolute as she continued, "Even if it doesn't work, it's fine. I don't want to live anymore anyway. Let's bet it all on this one chance." She had already prepared for the worst.

Chen Pingchuan didn't explain further. After all, results were far simpler than words.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

As the final digit of the code was entered, the locked door to the inner chamber clicked open.

Chen Pingchuan and his companions tread lightly, entering the room one by one.

At that moment, the sleeping Jiang Fulong was completely unaware that doom was upon him.

Any man with similar experience knows that sleep after the act is incredibly deep and difficult to wake from. Jiang Fulong was in exactly that state.

Chen Pingchuan gazed at the man sprawled on the bed, a sinister smile curling at his lips.
