Chapter 1024: Until We’re Both Hoary-Haired (20)
Pepsi had no idea what Si Yan was talking about and she looked adorable when baffled like this. Si Yan smiled. “Well… it’s alright if you don’t understand now. I’ll put Little Bai on the line.”
He then handed the phone to Si Bai, who had heard every word his father said just then.
The little boy thought he had some idea what his dad was saying.
From what he heard just then, liking someone and making promises to them should be a very solemn and sacred thing.
Did that mean that he shouldn’t say those words so casually?
Si Bai was bewildered. He then chatted with Pepsi about random things, and when Pepsi began to yawn, Si Bai said, “Pepsi, go to bed. Good night.”
“Nite nite,” said Pepsi in her soft baby voice.
Looking at her, Si Bai whispered, “I’m moving soon.”
It was okay if he didn’t tell her those words. He could just stay by her side forever.
That way, he wouldn’t have to worry about not carrying out his promises, would he?

The filming of the TV drama was still ongoing.
All Sheng Yize’s scenes were scheduled to be shot over a weekend. On that day, Sheng Yize took his wife/maid to the filming site.
It went smoothly. Sheng Yize had both the looks and the acting skills. He depicted Jiye perfectly.
The only handful of times when the director had to say “cut” were when Sheng Yize was acting across from An Xiaxia.
“Hey, you, get over here! Fetch me some water and massage my neck and shoulders… oh, and clean my ears while you’re at it!”
An Xiaxia did as told reluctantly. When the scene was finally over, she realized that everyone else on site was tittering.
Why?
She was completely baffled.
Director Yue couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s not in the script…”
An Xiaxia was speechless. Had she been tricked?
She punched Sheng Yize in vexation, but Sheng Yize only casually took her hands in his.
The camera continued rolling.
The next scene was between Lu Shang and Jiye.
The highlight of this scene was Jiye’s touching love confession.
Of course, back when the book was still being serialized, this scene also earned An Xiaxia the most criticism…
Because what happened was so sad it tore one’s heart out. After giving everything he had to help Lu Shang, Jiye ended up being annihilated both physically and spiritually. Before he died, Jiye summoned all the power of his soul and cast a spell on Lu Shang.
He cursed Lu Shang to find a soulmate in every lifetime, with whom he would always live happily until the end.
That wasn’t a curse at all, but the greatest confession of love.
The annihilation part would be added in with CGI during post-production, but the actors did have to say the lines before that.
Sheng Yize read the script, then looked up at Qian Ming standing in front of him. He said with an impassive face, “I can’t do it.”
Qian Ming blushed. “Neither can I!”
The director yelled, “You two! Be professional!”
Sheng Yize and Qian Ming turned their pensive gazes on the person that had started everything — An Xiaxia.
An Xiaxia was going to sneak away when Director Yue stopped her. “Stay! You’re in the next scene!”
An Xiaxia could only force a smile and inch backward. She even offered the two guys a suggestion. “You can always think you’re talking to a mannequin, you know.”
“Heh.” Sheng Yize smirked. He then turned to the director. “How about you put someone else in front of me and edit the cuts afterward?”
“Well…” Director Yue hesitated a little. “Who do you want to put there?”
“The most suitable person on site, of course,” said Sheng Yize calmly.
Director Yue said shyly, “Are you referring to… me? I used to act, you know, before I became a director!”
That shocked almost everyone.
The corner of Sheng Yize’s mouth twitched. “Sorry, but that’s a little too hardcore for my taste.”
Director Yue: … That hurt!
Sheng Yize’s lazy gaze landed on An Xiaxia. “Come over here, stand there, and face me.”
