The leader of the Elementals — Storm — stood in the center of a wide circle, with Kai before him, holding his sister in his arms.
Mei was still unconscious. Her waist was covered only by thin orange panties, while Kai's school jacket wrapped around her upper body, leaving her long legs exposed.
Storm, one of the strongest and oldest Elementals, had led an entire race for several million years. As the third leader, he managed to keep their neutrality and avoid involvement in the wars of other species.
He stood — or rather, floated — in the middle of the circle. His body looked like a tornado given humanoid form. His face couldn't be seen, only a pair of glowing eyes.
"Thank you," Storm said, his voice sounding like a howling wind.
Kai stepped into the circle and gently laid his sister on the ground. "No problem…" he said, scratching the back of his neck. "May I ask one question?"
Storm eyed him for a moment, then gave a slight nod. Kai took that as approval and continued, "Would you do me a favor? You owe me one."
"Owe you?" Storm folded his arms across his chest. "I owe no one… You did this because you want to regain your lust," he said.
"H-how do you know that?" Kai asked, confused.
"I know more than you think…" Storm replied. "But still, I'd like to hear what it is you want from me," he added.
"Nothing big… Just, if you see a girl with brown hair, about this tall—" Kai raised his hand to show her height as a human, then lowered it to show her height as a cat. "Sometimes she's this tall, walking on four legs…"
"You want me to call you if I see her?" Storm asked.
"Yes… if you'd be so kind," Kai replied.
Storm nodded. "Very well…" he said, then raised his hand. "If you wish, I can create transportation to Lily."
Kai looked down at his sister, then nodded. "That would be great!" he said, giving a thumbs-up.
Storm conjured a carriage made of wind. Kai stared at it for a moment, then lifted Mei and stepped inside with her.
Storm lowered his hand, and the carriage, carrying the brother and sister, began flying toward where the driver and Lily were waiting.
Kai stroked Mei's head. "We'll be home soon…" he whispered to her.
After a few moments, Kai could already see Lily. He waved at her, while she looked at him in surprise.
The wind carriage landed, and Kai stepped out, carrying his sister. As soon as his feet touched the ground, the carriage dissolved into air.
"W-what?" Lily stammered, her eyes falling on Mei's unconscious body. "Is she okay?" she asked, approaching.
"She just needs some rest…" Kai said, carrying Mei into the carriage. He laid her down on the seat, then sat across from her. He tapped the seat twice while looking at Lily. "Come on!"
Lily looked around nervously, clutching the edge of her skirt. "K-Kai…" she whimpered.
"Yes?" Kai asked, confused.
"C-could you… step outside?" Lily asked, shifting nervously. The button on her tight uniform strained as if it would pop any second.
Kai blinked a few times, wondering if he should go out. After shaking his head quickly, he decided to try reading her thoughts. "Mind reading," he murmured quietly — but got nothing. "Too high level…" he thought, sighing as he stepped out.
"What do you need?" he asked.
Lily looked at him, guilt flickering in her eyes. "I'm sorry…" she whispered, staring at the ground, gripping her skirt even tighter.
Kai wanted to ask what she was apologizing for, but before he could, the driver snapped the reins and the carriage started moving. "Huh?" Kai shouted, jumping to grab hold.
But before he could reach it, Lily grabbed his hand, stopping him.
Kai fell to the ground, watching as the carriage sped off without them. "Sis!" he yelled, then turned to Lily, who was still clutching his hand, sprawled beside him.
He kicked her in the stomach to make her let go. Lily released him, clutching her belly in pain. "Ah!" she gasped softly.
Kai stood up and ran after the carriage, but it was no use — it was too fast. Even if he had the Shinka Core, it would've been hard to catch it.
When he realized he couldn't reach it, Kai stopped running, chest heaving as the carriage disappeared into the mist. His fingers trembled, reaching out into the emptiness — but the distance only mocked him.
"How could I not have sensed this?"
"Why did you do that!?" he roared.
"I-I—" Lily began, her voice shaking. But she didn't get to finish.
Kai's fist crashed into her stomach before she could even take another breath. Sharp, hollow sound of impact echoed.
Lily folded. "M-master…" she said as her knees buckled beneath her.
"Shut up!" he snarled, grabbing her by the hair and forcing her to look at him. "My sister's been taken because of you!" His voice broke, but his eyes were merciless — void of reason, void of restraint.
He kicked her in the head — once, twice — until she collapsed completely, her blood mixing with the dirt. Then he just stood there, panting, staring down at her.
"I-I failed to protect my sister..."
"M-master… please… let me expla—" Before she could finish, Kai drove his heel into her ribs.
"Ah!" Lily cried, clutching her chest to ease the pain as she fell onto the ground once again. Her voice broke, tears spilling down her cheeks as she struggled to breathe.
"How could I be so blind?"
Kai crouched beside her, eyes dark and lifeless. "You think I care what you have to say?" he muttered, before ramming his fist once more into her stomach. The blow forced a strangled gasp from her throat — a sound somewhere between a sob and a choke.
"I doubt any explanation will fix this…" Kai muttered, his voice low and edged with restrained fury. He sat down beside her, running a trembling hand through his hair before exhaling slowly — each breath sounding more like a growl than calm.
Then, without warning, he grabbed Lily by the hair and forced her to look at him. His grip wasn't as violent as before, but it was firm — a reminder that her fate still balanced on his patience.
"But…" he said quietly, his gaze sharp and unwavering, "I'll listen."
"T-the organization…" Lily muttered through her teeth. "They hired me…"
"Organization, huh?" Kai said, thinking. "What did they tell you to do?"
"They said… they want to use you… and they asked for my help…" Lily said, swallowing hard.
"I thought you weren't allowed to betray us..." Kai said, reminding her of her oath as he yanked her hair even harder in anger.
"Yes… but your safety comes first… They said if I don't hand you over… they'll kill you…" she whispered, clenching her teeth in pain.
"What did we do to them?" Kai asked.
"They found out about the Bug with the Lantern…" Lily said, blood still dripping down her face, leaving small red stains on the grass.
"Damn it… it was right in front of me!"
"Tsk!" Kai hissed, releasing her hair and letting her head fall face-first to the ground.
"Looks like I'll have my final showdown with Yuki…" Kai thought, staring at the ground. "This time, I'll crush you!"
Lily weakly lifted her head, trying to look at Kai. "M-master… I-I'm sor—"
Before she could finish, Kai pressed his boot against her head and forced her face into the dirt. The sound of her muffled voice was swallowed by the ground beneath her.
"Shut up!" he barked, then fell silent, thinking. He kept his foot there for a moment, eyes distant, thoughts circling somewhere dark and unreadable. Then, without warning, he ground her face into the soil a few more times.
Finally, he stepped back and turned away. "You've done enough," he muttered, and began walking.
Lily barely managed to get up, her body trembling. Her hands shook uncontrollably, each movement sending sharp jabs of pain through her ribs and stomach.
Dust and dirt clung to her bloodied face, mixing with tears that welled and threatened to spill. Her chest heaved, each breath shallow and ragged.
She could feel the guilt gnawing at her from the inside, a slow, relentless burn. Yet even in the haze of pain, she forced herself to stand, legs wobbling but unyielding. Her brain screamed for her to collapse, to give in until the agony subsided, but she pushed it aside.
Driven by the fierce need to uphold her duty, to protect the Presidents at all costs, she planted her feet firmly and straightened her back as best she could.
Every step was agony, every breath a battle, but she moved forward — a fragile figure of determination, stubbornly refusing to let her body betray her sense of purpose.
"I-I'm sorry…" she whispered, guilt heavy in her voice. She followed slowly behind Kai, staring at the ground. Her hands rested at her sides, nervously gripping the hem of her skirt.
On her dirt-streaked, bloodied face there was only sadness, and in her eyes — a deep abyss of guilt and remorse. She stayed silent, not wanting to anger her master any further.
Together they headed toward the White House. President Kai in front, and behind him, his maid — Lily.
