Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 45: Spirit Medicine Saint (Bonus Chapter)

Unlike Wizards, within the Natural Federation, concocting Magic Potions is a monopolized skill.

A union named the Alchemist Guild monopolizes all beings with the ability to concoct Magic Potions within five Races.

Or rather, it is the alchemists within these five Races that form the Alchemist Guild.

During peacetime, any Alchemist within the Federation is revered, and during wartime, they are exempt from the front lines, able to safely produce Magic Potions in the rear.

Without hesitation, Alchemists are indeed the alternative Nobles within the Natural Federation.

Of course, the Alchemist community also has levels.

The Alchemist Guild categorizes Alchemists into five levels, with the first level being the highest. However, those truly in the know understand that the five-standard Alchemists do not represent the upper limit of the Alchemist group.

Beyond the five levels, there are many Alchemy Masters scattered throughout the Federation.

The strength of these Masters is at least that of a World Master, and every Magic Potion they concoct is of great value.

During war, these Masters' creations are specifically used by World Masters, but in peacetime, even the World Masters must pay a hefty price to trade for these Master's Magic Potions.

Among these Masters, the Spirit Medicine Saint is the Master of Masters.

"Let him get out!"

Within the towering World Tree, a slightly shorter Tree Spirit, exuding life energy from head to toe, roared.

Beside him, his Apprentice—another Tree Spirit of the same Race, but weaker—could not help but sweat.

"Teacher, this Ghost Horror Clan Lord is the offspring of the Ghost Horror Dominator. Could you be a bit more tactful?"

"Then let him get out!" The Spirit Medicine Saint shouted again.

"I've said it many times, I am not a junk collector! Don't bring that trash to me, expecting me to refine Elixirs!"

The Spirit Medicine Saint's roar was like thunder, causing the vessels in the room to tremble. Thankfully, inside the World Tree, the soundproofing was excellent, so even the notable figure outside, offspring of the Dominator, would not hear the Spirit Medicine Saint's angry rebuke.

Hearing the Spirit Medicine Saint's roar, the Apprentice sweated again, despite being a Tree Spirit without sweat.

The Ghost Horror Clan Dominator's offspring brought a fine Dimensional Treasure—a Level 6 World Tree Branch from the Plant Dimension.

This item, if placed outside, would have many Tree Spirits scrambling for it. But in the Spirit Medicine Saint's mouth, it became valueless trash.

"Then I'll escort him out."

"Let him get out!"

"Mmm." The Apprentice vaguely agreed, and then took that piece of branch and walked out of the room.

Outside the room is a corridor, at the end of which is a reception room. In the reception room, the Ghost Horror Clan World Master awaited the message from the Apprentice.

The Spirit Medicine Saint is one of the few Alchemy Masters capable of refining potions that assist in advancement.

Obtaining a Magic Potion from the Spirit Medicine Saint could significantly increase his chances of advancing from Level 5 to Level 6.

However, he's evidently going to be disappointed.

"I'm sorry, Yuka Lord. The Teacher is not very satisfied with this piece of branch. You know, ever since the Teacher agreed to take one World Tree branch as remuneration, many Lords within the Federation wished they could build us a palace with World Tree branches."

Listening to the Apprentice's reply, Yuka's face instantly showed disappointment.

He wanted to say something, but ultimately said nothing.

Though he is the Dominator's offspring, the Spirit Medicine Saint is also a Dominator's offspring and a highly favored one at that.

In terms of identity, he cannot suppress the Spirit Medicine Saint at all.

As for strength... ever since the Spirit Medicine Saint devoured a Level 6 Curse Demon on the battlefield, no one dared show any pressure at the Spirit Medicine Saint's abode.

"Alright then," Yuka sighed, then pushed the World Tree branch towards the Apprentice and asked via Spiritual Message: "Master, could you give me some hints on what the Saint Lord wants?"

Apprentice shook the tree crown, helplessly pushing the branch back.

"If I knew what the Teacher wanted, this branch wouldn't even enter the Alchemy Room."

Seeing this, Yuka could only give up.

But just as he was about to leave, a surge of vigorous Life Radiation suddenly caught his attention.

On the other side of the reception room, a Flesh Red Shirt came through the passageway into the reception room, seemingly also seeking a potion.

Yuka glanced at this newly arrived Flesh Red Shirt and inwardly shook his head: "The World Masters nowadays are increasingly clueless, even a common Tree Shepherd dares to seek a potion."

A Tree Shepherd is what the Tree Spirit Clan calls a World Master.

In distant times, a Tree Spirit of this strength could travel to the Star Realm and sow seeds in other worlds, hence they were called Tree Shepherds.

Above the Tree Shepherd, however, there are Great Tree Shepherds and Saints, which is why Yuka thinks this Flesh Red Shirt is clueless.

What good stuff can a Level 4 Creature bring?

Seeing the Flesh Red Shirt, the Apprentice immediately greeted.

"Lar, over here."

Saying this, the Apprentice introduced to Yuka: "This is my old friend Lar, offspring of the Red Shirt King."

Hearing the Red Shirt King, Yuka was slightly startled.

The Red Shirt King is one of the four Tree Kings of the Tree Spirit Clan, offspring of the Great World Tree. His power has already surpassed the typical Saint's realm, even possessing some Dominator might.

However, the Red Shirt King is a Tree Spirit who enjoys sowing seeds.

Encountering his offspring is not uncommon.

Yuka politely nodded at Lar.

Although he somewhat looked down on Lar's strength, he had no need to deliberately offend Lar.

There have been instances in the Natural Federation where an underestimated offspring suddenly became a strong figure during war.

Seeing Yuka nod, Lar also shook his tree crown in return.

If it were in the past, encountering someone as obviously distinguished as Yuka would have at least warranted some chit-chat, to form a connection.

Not seeking favor, but at least ensuring some recognition if they met again in the future.

But now, Lar only wanted to quickly confirm the matter of the magic potion.

Forming a relationship with Yuka was unlikely to yield benefits, but assisting Richard would return the benefits instantly.

Seeing Lar's calm demeanor, a trace of surprise grew in Yuka's heart.

Is he really so indifferent towards him? Could this fleshy Red Shirt be a favored child of the Red Shirt King?

Yuka suddenly felt he might stay a bit longer, wanting to see what Lar would use to exchange for the magic potion.

"Lar, your item better be as impressive as you claim," the Apprentice said to Lar, "I've just been scolded by the teacher. If you bring something that fails to catch their eye again, I'll end up in the furnace room stoking fires."

"Relax, Kuira, this item will definitely interest the esteemed Saint," Lar promised almost beating his chest.

With that, Lar extracted from his belly a ball of flesh covered with a white membrane on the surface.

Puff!

Yuka couldn't help but let out a laugh.

To be honest, under normal circumstances, he would never laugh. But what Lar brought out was somewhat absurd.

A mass of flesh creation, and it appeared to be the most ordinary kind, as the ball didn't emit even the slightest pressure.

Was such a thing worthy of trading for a spiritual medicine? Was this Red Shirt out of his mind?

Apprentice Kuira looked at the ball of flesh in Lar's hand, his face filled with helplessness.

"Brother, this is not the time to joke. Do you really want to trade this for medicine? Hurry and bring out your real item."

But Lar was quite serious, "Kuira, trust me, this item can definitely be traded for medicine. I swear in the name of the Great World Tree, I am not joking in the slightest!"

The Great World Tree is the Clan Leader of the Tree Spirit and the origin of the Tree Spirits.

When a Tree Spirit swears by the Great World Tree, no matter what they say, they are absolutely serious.

Yuka was slightly taken aback upon hearing this, a sense of apprehension rising in his heart.

Could this item hold some mystery that he couldn't perceive, given the Tree Spirit's serious demeanor?

Yuka looked at the ball of flesh, but no matter how he looked, it seemed ordinary.

"It seems this Tree Spirit truly is mad," Yuka thought to himself.

The fleshy Red Shirt is the most special existence among the Tree Spirits. Their flesh transformation makes their minds more prone to problems compared to other Tree Spirits; most fleshy Red Shirts are insane.

Seeing Lar so earnest, even swearing by the Great World Tree, Brother Kuira could only hope that his friend wasn't mad.

Holding the ball of flesh, Kuira walked into the Alchemy Room with heavy steps.

Yuka shook his head, suddenly feeling there was nothing much to watch here anymore...

Bang!

A loud explosion echoed into the reception hall through the passage.

Hearing this sound, Yuka couldn't help but shudder.

Was the Saint really that furious?

No, he had to leave quickly.

Yuka was about to leave with large strides, but the Spirit Medicine Saint's pressure had already reached the reception hall.

In the face of a Sixth Level creature's pressure, even Yuka, an offspring of a Dominator, couldn't help but tremble.

Soon after, a somewhat short figure reached the reception hall.

"Whose item is this!?" the short figure shouted.

As he shouted, an unrestrained pressure emitted from his body, almost suffocating Lar and Yuka.

"I-I... it's mine." Lar trembled as he spoke, "This is mine, revered Saint."

Seeing Lar acknowledge, the Spirit Medicine Saint almost instantly appeared in front of him.

"This is your item? How could a Tree Shepherd like you obtain such a thing!?"

"It truly is mine, revered one," Lar argued earnestly.

Richard's Destiny Contract imposed strict constraints on the information about Richard. Even implicit hints couldn't disclose his information.

The Spirit Medicine Saint looked at Lar, the eyes on his trunk almost turning into a tangible gaze.

"Then what do you want?"

"Magic Potion, revered one, I need a potion to restore the soul."

"A potion to restore the soul?"

The Spirit Medicine Saint's pressure suddenly withdrew, and the entire Tree Spirit instantly became peaceful.

He spoke sincerely, "You can have as much of the spirit medicine as you want, but I have one condition: he must come to meet me.

Of course, I can also go to meet him."
