Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1289: Medicine

Nathan ended up returning to complete the deal with Ignore first, getting the last corpse he had paid off. Although it didn't matter anymore, the deal had to be finished.

Nathan currently possessed a lot of cores, including two elite-class cores. If he used it on himself, he could make Mae reach the same level as everyone else.

Unfortunately, Neyeid had called him, so he had to return to the ruined city first. Completing the deal and returning to the fallen city only took him a day.

It looked like it was worth it to entrust the matter to Gregory and Neyeid.

When he reached the city, the atmosphere had changed significantly, even though it had only been three weeks since he had left the city.

The gloomy city had been restored to a certain extent. At the very least, he could see people working on the street. Thanks to Neyeid's help, people got enough food to eat.

This matter would soon reach the ears of the regional lord, but it didn't matter.

Neyeid had the protection of a duke. As long as there was no big clash, the lord should be pretty accommodating.

"It looks like everything has gone according to your initial expectation," said Nathan while walking across the corridor, his eyes taking a glance at the city through the window.

"Not necessarily. My help definitely plays a big part of it, but the one who makes it possible is that doctor."

"Gregory?"

"Yes, thanks to his expertise as a doctor, he is able to connect with people. The initial batch of people that you saved from the underground prison… they are the ones that become the torch for hope."

"I see. Letting him take all the glory?"

"That will be for the best. I don't plan to become a hero whatsoever on this land since I want to return to Gratzel when this is all over." Neyeid shrugged.

"How about the Beggar Sect?"

"They are being established. Right now, this city is functional. I have tried it in three more cities, but to see results, we will have to wait for a bit longer. Once the result is out, I will know how to proceed. That's when the expansion will begin."

Nathan nodded. "Just find Luna Eleren for now. It's useless to try to find the Death Society if they don't want to be found. Besides, we need enough cards before we play it."

"Fair enough. Don't worry. We will proceed with the original schedule." Neyeid waved his hand before opening the door in front of him. "Anyway, the medicine is now complete. It's here."

The room seemed to be a laboratory. He could see all kinds of glassware and equipment.

Gregory, who seemed to be occupied with mixing the medicine in a few flasks, couldn't help but raise his head.

"Master? You're back."

Nathan nodded. "Yes, I'm back. It looks like you have done a great job here, Gregory."

"Not at all. I could do it only because of Mr. Neyeid's help." Gregory shook his head.

Nathan smiled. "Well, you do what you want to do. As long as you are working on what I ask you, I don't really care. The resources will be provided too."

"Ah yes, working!" Gregory snapped his fingers as if he remembered it. He moved to the left corner of the room and took out a small chest from the drawer. He then presented it to Nathan. "This is the medicine you asked for."

Inside the chest were 15 vials of medicine. Each vial was the size of an adult thumb. The fluid inside might not have color, but whether it was coming from the liquid or the reflection of the light, the liquid looked like it was shining.

"The harmonizing medicine?"

"Yes. Fortunately, I was able to extract everything perfectly and didn't disappoint you." Gregory nodded.

Nathan nodded. "Alright. Thank you, Gregory. For now, you can proceed with whatever medicine is possible to make. Will that be alright?"

"Of course. It won't be a problem." Gregory accepted it without hesitation. Working for Nathan was rather easy since he just had to create a medicine during the night while working as a doctor during the day.

It was different from when he had worked with his previous group. He couldn't sleep because he had to develop new medicine again and again to grow his group, only to realize that he was only being taken advantage of.

He could consider this one year of working for Nathan as a time off to think about what he wanted to do in the future.

On the other hand, Nathan took the chest with him. "In that case, I will excuse myself."

"You are not going to stay for the night?" Gregory asked.

Neyeid whispered, "If you are talking about the captain's birthday, you still have two days."

"Well…" Nathan contemplated for a moment. It was probably good to test the medicine first to make sure it wasn't a poison for Evelyn. And two days should be enough to absorb the two elite class cores. "In that case, I will take my time here. I will depart in two days."

"Hehe. Does that mean you are going to drink with me?" Neyeid smirked.

"You do know that I don't drink, right?" Nathan's eyebrows twitched. He didn't drink simply because of his father and mother. They involved themselves with drugs and alcohol, which caused him to stay away from any type of alcohol.

"No worries, no worries. I have prepared something good this time." Neyeid grinned.

Seeing Neyeid act like this, Nathan decided not to reject anymore. Of course, Neyeid respected Nathan's decision to stay away from alcohol, so he brought something else.

Nathan just shared a bit of his journey and everything he had figured out about the Death Society. It looked like Neyeid understood how Nathan planned to approach the Death Society, as he was adjusting his plan to match Nathan's idea.

Once it was over, Nathan retired to the bedroom that had been prepared by Neyeid.

Inside, Nathan summoned Xolotl and Qilin and showed them the medicine. "This is the medicine that can help… What do you think?"

Xolotl and Qilin couldn't help but furrow their eyebrows as soon as they saw this medicine.
