Lord of Cosmos

Chapter 119: The Ancient Colossal

Keno was delighted to hear his voice. "I've been... swallowed," he said in a broken tone, "by a giant creature of strange form and power. Why didn't you warn me of something like this?"

"I didn't know this thing was on the way. This is truly strange. What brought one of the giants here?"

"Giants! Do you know of other giants?"

"Yes, I do, but they shouldn't be in this place! It doesn't matter. Now, can you get out of there?"

"I don't know, I can't see anything. And I think I'll dissolve in this giant's stomach if I don't act quickly."

"Then try to blow it up from the inside."

"I'll try."

Keno activated his night vision and found large food scraps, some waste, and bones in the giant's stomach. He aimed his weapon at the intestinal wall and began to fire, but the shots had no effect on its body. He aimed a small projectile at its body until a large explosion resounded, but it also had no effect. Keno lost his temper and said nervously, "Damn it! What are this giant's intestines made of?"

"It is a very solid creature, and nothing can penetrate it that easily."

"Then rescue me, or I will die in here! This is not what we agreed on!"

"Save yourself. You have the ability to do so."

"But I've tried everything. Its body is as hard as iron."

"Remember what you learned in the tower, because you have a special ability up your sleeve."

Keno remembered what the voice had told him when he woke up in that large white tower, where everything had started to turn into a nightmare from that time.

"Will this power harm me?" Keno said, his face dark and grim.

"No, it won't harm you. It will grant you great power. You must complete the mission by any means, before Gaia makes a move, or everything will fail."

"Alright, I'll try."

Keno took off his suit, and his body was freed from it. He felt the heat of the acidic substance that was feeding on him. He extended his right fist high into the air, then clenched it tightly, saying, "Activate."

The suit disintegrated from his body and fell into the acidic substance, slowly dissolving within it. Keno's body was now exposed to the deadly substance, to be gnawed at and consumed more easily. But at the same time, a bright, radiant light wrapped around him, and the details of his body were no longer visible from the intensity of the light. There were changes happening to his form as he changed and took shape. After that, the light suddenly went out, and darkness fell again, casting its cloak over the place. Then a red eye lit up in the dark, and after that, flames came out of Keno's back, and he shot upward, kicking the wall of the giant's stomach to give him a boost. He began to move from wall to wall, bouncing upward, until he was in the pharynx. It became much easier to go up. Keno, rushing upward at high speed, saw the giant's tongue. He knew that he was close to his goal. He continued on his way until he was standing on the tongue, then he retreated and then shot forward toward its closed teeth and delivered a powerful punch, the flames from his back giving him a strong boost. He punched one of the giant's teeth violently, and it broke from the force of his punch and was dislodged. This made the giant open its mouth, groaning in pain. Keno slipped out of its mouth and landed on the ground far away from the giant. As Keno was descending, he saw the giant squatting, as it seemed, so he used the fire engine in his back to slow his descent. The tooth had fallen to the ground, making a huge impact, as if a meteorite had fallen. But Keno was able to land safely on the ground. He saw the giant stand on its feet, in pain and screaming in a loud, annoying voice that shook the area. The giant examined its injured teeth with its fingers and found that its mouth was bleeding. It lost its temper and became even more enraged. Its eyes turned to Keno, who was standing firm and looking at it with a challenging gaze, wearing a new suit, not the one it had swallowed him in. The giant was confused at first and thought it was someone else other than the one it had swallowed, but it found no one else in the vast clearing. It knew that he was the one who had caused it this pain. The giant clenched its fist and raised its hand, aiming a large punch at Keno. Keno drew his two swords from their sheaths and took a ready stance to receive this massive blow.

The giant's punch cut through the air, creating a stormy wind from the immensity of its punch. But Keno used the engine in his back and feet to fly high several meters. He avoided the punch, then jumped on its arm and began to run on it toward its shoulders, plunging his two swords into them and injuring the giant. It, in turn, let out a deafening scream of pain and looked toward Keno as it aimed another punch at him to get him off its arm. But Keno jumped high with agility to avoid it as well. He put his left sword in its sheath, and his hand transformed and took shape to become a circular cannon. A blue energy began to gather in the cannon, then shot out at great speed toward the giant's face. The giant raised its right palm in front of its face to block the blow. It hit him hard in his hand, which made him cry out in greater pain. He took a few steps back and looked at his hand, which had turned black from the impact of the blow, and a smell of something burning came from it. He looked, and anger filled his features from the insults of his small opponent with great power, and he knew that he would not win this battle. He spoke strange, unknown words, addressing his words to Keno. Keno's eyes widened in astonishment, and he said to himself, "Can it speak? Then it's an intelligent creature!"

The giant spoke in a rough, hoarse voice, and his words came out emphasized, as if he were pressing on every letter. Keno began to analyze his words and his language. He found that it was listed in his dictionary of languages, so he understood what he was saying. He was saying, "You small creature, are you a living being?"

Keno landed on the ground and looked at the giant with a mixture of astonishment, awe, and confusion he had never felt before. He gathered the right words in his mind to answer him and said in a broken tone, trying to speak the language, "You... could... say... that!"

"Then I am sorry for swallowing you. I thought you were a robot."

The giant said it in a calm tone, while he was in pain from his wounds. Keno replied in amazement, "I... am sorry too... for injuring you so badly. I thought you were irrational... and wanted to eat everything you saw."

The giant laughed a big laugh that shook the area and said with a wide smile, "I think I am misunderstood every time!"

Keno laughed an artificial laugh in an attempt to ease the atmosphere and not to provoke his anger. "But how do you speak? And where did you come from?" he said.

"I came from a faraway place, and it's a long story that I don't like to tell now. And you, where did you come from?"
