Cultivation: Fortune by Lots

Chapter 137: 116. A favorable sign with double medium auspiciousness.

Red Abyss Cave Heaven was situated to the southwest of Dragon Tiger Mountain, nestled deep within the Spirit-Elegant Deep Mountains.

To the common folk of the mortal world, it was a place seldom visited, yet for cultivators, it was a rare Blessed Land Cave Heaven.

The Celestial Master Mansion, located outside the ancestral court of Dragon Tiger Mountain, regarded Red Abyss Cave Heaven as one of its most important Cave Heavens and Blessed Lands.

They had managed this place for many years and long ago established a separate manor here, with elders from the mansion overseeing and presiding over it.

Although Red Abyss Cave Heaven itself lay deep within the secluded mountains and forests, much like Yangshan Manor built near Xuanyang Cave Heaven, a bustling town had formed at the foot of the mountain.

During the recent succession of battles between the Celestial Master Mansion, the Jiangzhou Lin Clan, the Yellow Sky Sect, and the Southern Witch Sect, the vicinity of Red Abyss Cave Heaven had not become a battlefield.

Thus, the gathering town here remained prosperous.

Lei Jun passed through the town, *feeling the warmth and vitality of the human world, his mood light and cheered, discovering a unique charm in the experience.*

At the center of the town stood a Tao Palace with flourishing incense, frequented by a great many commoners.

Lei Jun's cultivation had already reached a certain level; on ordinary days he need not put effort into his bearing. In the eyes of these worldly folks, he naturally had an immortal's demeanor, and his attire, as a talisman-bestowed Taoist of the Celestial Master Mansion, stood out remarkably.

However, Lei Jun had no intention of making a spectacle of himself, so he subdued his own aura and even applied an obscuring effect that caused the ordinary people to see him as a figure among the clouds and mist, unwittingly passing him by without noticing his presence.

Only the Taoist in charge of the Tao Palace here, a proper transmission disciple and talisman-bestowed true inheritor of the Celestial Master Mansion, saw Lei Jun approach and greeted him with a smile, "Lei, you've arrived."

"I wouldn't dare trouble you by coming out so far to greet me," Lei Jun replied, returning the courtesy.

He had planned to come to Red Abyss Cave Heaven, and the sect had already sent word in advance. It was just that Lei Jun needed to visit Youpeng Mountain north of the river first, then come here; the specific timing was uncertain.

The Taoist who presided over the Tao Palace saw him finally arrive, first hosting Lei Jun and offering tea. After a brief conversation, he asked, "Lei, will you rest in town for a bit, or head straight up to the manor in the mountains?"

Lei Jun replied, "You're surely busy, brother, so I'll refrain from bothering you further—I'll go straight into the mountains."

The Taoist exchanged a few more polite words, then instructed the Tao Boys in the Tao Palace to lead Lei Jun into the deep mountains.

The separate mansion established by the Celestial Master Mansion here was called Red Mountain Manor. It had been managed for years, and its scale even surpassed that of Yangshan Manor by Xuanyang Cave Heaven.

Deep in the primeval mountains and forests, rows upon rows of Tao Palaces and estates sprawled unbroken, their expanse so vast that they looked, from afar, almost like a small city.

Especially eye-catching was the fact that above Red Mountain Manor, upon the firmament itself, auspicious clouds persisted all year round, shimmered with hints of red light amidst their layers, radiant as the evening clouds.

Even sunlight itself could not outshine their brilliance.

It truly bore a resemblance to Supreme Pure Thunder Mansion Cave Heaven near the ancestral court of Dragon Tiger Mountain.

Lei Jun observed this and nodded slightly.

The red auspicious clouds above were not the actual location of Red Abyss Cave Heaven.

Just as with Xuanyang Cave Heaven, the entrance to Red Abyss Cave Heaven lay on the ground.

And yet, those red clouds overhead were, in fact, the manifestation of spiritual energy surging skyward, mingling with Gang Evil and condensing above.

This place was abundant not only in spiritual treasures but also in the finest Gang Evil.

The Nine Earth Yin Wind Evil that Lei Jun intended to refine on this journey was located within the depths of Red Abyss Cave Heaven, underground.

In truth, should he ever succeed in attaining the Fifth Layer Heaven Tao Palace Realm, Lei Jun might well return to Red Abyss Cave Heaven again in the future.

For besides top-tier Evil Spirits like Nine Earth Yin Wind Evil, here could also be found the finest Gang Qi.

Up in those red clouds above, there was Gang Qi as renowned as the Azure Dragon Thunder Command Gang from the ancestral court at Dragon Tiger Mountain—the Red Dragon Abyss Gang.

The Taoist Talisman Sect cultivators refined Earth's Evil Spirits at the Fourfold Heaven Realm, and then fused them with Heavenly Gang at the Fifth Layer of Heaven.

As for which Gang Qi Lei Jun might choose to fuse in the future, he would have to contemplate that decision when the time came.

For now, his goal was the Nine Earth Yin Wind Evil.

After entering Red Mountain Manor and paying respects to the presiding elder of the local sect, Lei Jun first selected a residence within the manor that suited his taste, setting up his temporary abode.

Only later did he proceed to the inner core of the manor—Red Abyss Cave Heaven—to cultivate.

By coincidence, Lei Jun encountered a familiar face here at Red Abyss Cave Heaven.

"Master Lei!"

A young Taoist of thin build, dressed in an apricot-colored Taoist robe, bowed to Lei Jun.

The young Taoist's name was Zhang Yuan; Lei Jun had known him since their days in the Tao Boy Court, and Zhang Yuan had entered the mansion as a transmission disciple a year after Lei Jun.

By now, he had already been a true inheritor of the Celestial Master Mansion for more than three years.

"We're all fellow disciples here; just call me Senior Brother."

Lei Jun swept his gaze around, "You all came here for...?"

Besides Zhang Yuan, several other transmission disciples of the Celestial Master Mansion approached and greeted Lei Jun as well.

Zhang Yuan replied, "The sect selected us for this journey. We came to Red Abyss Cave Heaven for training and cultivation, to broaden our knowledge."

*It was much like how we had headed to Xuanyang Cave Heaven and Yangshan Manor back then,* Lei Jun mused in understanding.

He offered Zhang Yuan and the others a few words of encouragement and then asked, "This time around, who's leading your group from the mansion?"

Zhang Yuan responded, "We came under the leadership of Uncle-Master Zuo and Master Chongyu."

Lei Jun nodded.

The reason Zhang Yuan referred to one by surname and the other by given name was not about seniority or closeness.

Uncle-Master Zuo, whose full name was Zuo Li, was an elder of the mansion, and that was all that needed to be said.

As for Senior Brother Chongyu, his formal name was Li Yucheng, with the Taoist name Li Chongyu, a member of the Li Clan.

Unlike Lee Kong, Li Xuan, and those direct descendants, he was of a collateral branch like Li Zhenchang, older than Li Zhenchang and Li Ming. He'd received his talisman-bestowed initiation more than a decade ago and was considered a rising star among the current younger generation of the Li family clan.

There were indeed many Taoists surnamed Li on Dragon Tiger Mountain, so Zhang Yuan and the others referred to him as "Master Chongyu" or "Senior Brother Chongyu."

Lei Jun had not had much interaction with him.
