The Transmigrated Villain Hates the Main Character

chapter 2

What the hell?Puzzled, Raon tilted his head. The system—always mocking him with those stupid little emoticons—had never once ignored him when he called.Frowning, he tried a few more times, but eventually gave up.Maybe the system wasn’t functioning properly because of the time-reversal aftereffects. It would probably come back soon enough.Deciding not to worry about it, Raon got out of bed. His body felt sticky with sweat.Shhh—After a quick shower, Raon glanced at the clock.7:20 a.m.Still a bit early, but if he got ready and went down now, it would be just about time for the cafeteria to open.He changed clothes and fastened the wrist device issued by the unit.A small display lit up with text.[Alpha-1 Team Exclusive Guide, Han Raon — S-rank]His basic profile.Only Raon himself, registered as the owner, could wear it.He looked down at it absentmindedly, then turned his head. This place was one of the government-managed Association facilities for ability users.Room and board were fully provided; unless they were deployed on a mission, there was no reason to leave. That part, at least, was convenient.Even back at this point in time, everyone around probably already hated the arrogant, self-centered Han Raon.So maybe it was better to eat early, before running into anyone at all. With that thought, Raon headed downstairs just as the cafeteria opened.Even early in the morning, the place buzzed with activity, the air filled with the savory scent of breakfast.“You’re early today, Guide Raon.”“Morning.”Recognizing him, a cafeteria staff member greeted him politely.Raon replied flatly and picked up a tray.Breakfast was simple. He took a few slices of toast, some jam, and a bit of fruit before sitting down.As he ate, his thoughts turned to the future.Once the system came back online, he’d have to start playing the villainous sub role again.Three years left to go.And at the end of those three years, he’d have to reach that damned death scene before he could return to his original world.Three whole years of that again…He couldn’t, for the life of him, understand how this counted as a reward. It was obviously just another one of the system’s cruel games meant to torment him.Raon jabbed irritably at the fruit with his fork.Soft chunks of apple were left full of holes.“Ugh.”He sighed and shook his head.It was already done. Nothing to do but accept it.He speared a mangled piece of apple and popped it into his mouth. The sweetness calmed him a little—until a voice cut through the air.“Disgusting. Fucking disgusting, this early in the morning.”“…”Raon slowly looked up.A man stood across from him, glaring, his face twisted in disdain.Raon’s lips curved into a faint, mocking smile.“Why the foul mouth first thing in the morning, Nam Taegun?”“Tch. Of all people, you had to show up early to eat.”“You could’ve come later.”“Shut the fuck up!”Nam Taegun—S-rank esper, Alpha-1 Team—snapped at him. With that burning red hair and reddish eyes, he looked like a fire-type elemental, but he was actually a psychic-type esper.Just a guy with bad taste in aesthetics—hence the thug look.Raon stared blankly at the cluster of piercings dangling from his ears.“You’ve got plenty of energy this morning. Just shut up and eat.”“Hah. Says the two-faced bastard.”Raon’s demeanor was the same with everyone—everyone except Seo Dojin, the main top.At first, his relationship with Taegun hadn’t been this bad.Naturally, Taegun had been friendly to the guide assigned to him.But that didn’t last long.Raon’s arrogant behavior, his fawning toward Dojin—Taegun had quickly lost patience.Honestly, Raon didn’t blame him. He understood perfectly.“When the next Gate opens, you’ll be running yourself ragged again. Might as well eat up while you can.”“Fuck off.”Not that Raon had any intention of changing his tone.It wasn’t like there was any fixing things between them, and normally—if he acted any differently—the system would…“…”Right. The system. It was still quiet.Raon turned, watching Taegun stalk off, muttering curses. If the system’s silent… does that mean I don’t have to act like ‘Han Raon’?The idea struck him suddenly, and he rose to his feet. He wanted to test it.“Nam Taegun.”“The fuck now—”“I’m sorry.”“What?”“Enjoy your meal.”“…?”Raon had never said anything like that to him. Not once.A sharp chill ran down his spine. It was the first time since transmigrating that he’d spoken purely of his own will.“You… you’ve lost your damn mind?”“Ha…”Leaving a stunned Taegun frozen in place, Raon let out a soft breath and walked away.It felt like freedom—something he hadn’t felt in ages. The same air he’d always breathed suddenly seemed lighter, cleaner, almost ★ 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ★ sweet.I wonder how long it’ll last.Once the system came back, this would all be meaningless. It had always forced him to mimic the real Han Raon’s words and actions down to the smallest detail. This brief freedom wouldn’t last, but Raon decided to savor it.He’d take it as his one true reward for being forced to relive this cursed life. With his heart beating fast, he headed back to his room.***Please, let the system stay gone for as long as possible.Raon prayed as he buttoned his uniform and stepped out of his quarters, heading toward the meeting room.He didn’t remember exactly what he’d done on this particular day three years ago,but the routine was probably the same.It was Monday.Unless something unusual was happening, Alpha-1 usually gathered for a morning meeting—meaning an entire room full of faces he didn’t want to see.Click.As the door opened, several pairs of eyes turned toward him.He was early today—earlier than usual—but a few people were already there. All familiar.“You’re early,” said Dojin in his usual curt tone.Raon merely nodded.Normally, at the first hint of acknowledgment from Dojin, Raon would rush up with a bright smile, fluttering around him like a flower. This time, he just walked past him and sat down—at the farthest seat from Dojin.Dojin’s cool expression twitched ever so slightly, but Raon didn’t care.Nothing’s happening. Perfect.Normally, the moment he ignored Dojin, the system window would pop up flashing red with ‘WARNING!’ messages. But now—nothing.Raon couldn’t help feeling pleased.“Good morning, Raon-ssi.”“…”The gentle voice came from beside him.Raon turned his head and saw a small, fair-faced young man smiling awkwardly at him.The main bottom of the novel—Lee Hamin.Still as delicate and pretty as he remembered from three years ago.He was quite a bit younger than Raon—maybe twenty-two around this time. Not the youngest on the team, but close.“Yes, good morning.”“Ah…”Hamin’s soft pink lips parted slightly in surprise, as if he hadn’t expected Raon to answer at all.The real Han Raon had hated Hamin to the point of murder, but Raon didn’t.Honestly, even when reading the novel, he’d liked the main bottom far more than any of the tops.If the system hadn’t interfered, he might’ve actually gotten along with Hamin. While Raon smiled faintly at the thought, the meeting room door burst open with a slam.“Captain! Raon’s gone completely insane—!”Taegun stood there, pale and agitated. Then his eyes met Raon’s. Raon waved lightly at him.“Hey, you really have lost it, haven’t you?!”Taegun’s shout echoed through the small room, making everyone wince.Dojin frowned.“Quiet down and take your seat.”“But—”“Sit.”“Tch.”Nam Taegun—S-rank esper, wild and hotheaded—was the only one who ever hesitated under Dojin’s authority.Seo Dojin. Captain of Alpha-1 Team. The man Han Raon had admired more than anyone. Those transparent turquoise eyes and pitch-black hair—even another man could admit he was breathtaking.Even Raon, who now despised him, had been struck speechless by his looks the first time he’d possessed this body. But after five years of seeing that face, the effect had worn off completely. Now, Raon just turned his head away, bored.“Sorry I’m late.”“…!”A calm voice spoke from the doorway.Raon’s eyes widened.Yoon Siwoo entered with his usual stoic expression, scanning the room.Being the last to arrive, there was only one empty seat left—directly across from Raon.Siwoo’s composed face tightened almost imperceptibly.
