Reborn as the Vampire Prince at Server Start, I am Invincible

Ch. 32

Discussion

After listening to Dawn's Light's account, Chen Zixuan glanced at him suspiciously and asked, "You're saying... this time the world-class BOSS is a bat?"

Dawn's Light nodded seriously, "If I'm not mistaken, it should be a giant bat with a wingspan of over ten meters. It flies very fast, makes no sound at all, and likes to ambush players from above."

The silver-haired girl lowered her head in thought.

Initially, Chen Zixuan thought that the world-class BOSS this time might be a huge bird, something like an eagle or an owl—some type of raptor.

Of course, since "Legend of Kaloran" had a fantasy background—even goblins existed—it was possible that this BOSS could be any manner of flying mythical creature.

Such as a griffin or gargoyle.

She just hadn't expected that the world-class BOSS this time would turn out to be a bat—a super-sized bat of massive proportions.

No wonder the BOSS could move so-nimbly in the pitch-dark forest at night; even with such a huge body, it didn't bump into a single tree.

It could even precisely locate every player's position and kill them one by one.

Bats didn't need eyesight; at night, ultrasound was their real means of gathering information.

"Aside from attacking from above, does it have any other forms of attack?"

Chen Zixuan pondered for a moment and continued to ask.

She still remembered that the last world-class BOSS, the Goblin Hero, had at least three or more skills.

By all accounts, this world-class BOSS had to have at least three attack abilities too.

If they could know the BOSS's attack patterns beforehand and come up with countermeasures, it might not be that hard to fight.

"As for other attack methods..."

Dawn's Light thought for a bit and said uncertainly, "There seems to be one more. When it was hovering in the air with its mouth open, everyone in our party took a ton of magic damage."

At the time, Dawn's Light just felt a dull pain in his eardrums, and then his teammates dropped dead one after another, returning to the main city respawn point.

Because Dawn's Light had an epic set of gear and high magic resistance, he took much less damage and managed to escape from the BOSS.

Still, that scene had left a very deep impression on him.

"Is that all?"

Chen Zixuan pressed.

From what Dawn's Light described, this world-class BOSS had at least one wide-range AOE damage skill.

The medium was likely soundwaves, dealing extremely high magic damage—instant kill for any normal player with no magic resistance.

At this thought, Chen Zixuan felt that things were a bit tricky.

Her own magic resistance wasn't that high—only her health pool was much greater than others'. If the BOSS had more group attack abilities, even she stood a high chance of dying.

"That's all I know,"

Dawn's Light replied.

Chen Zixuan thought for a moment, then said, "If we go for it, I can't be the vanguard; I'd be too easily one-shot. You and your people should take the front—bait out some of its skills if you can, then I'll focus on output from behind."

Dawn's Light knew that if not for Chen Zixuan, his current meager DPS wouldn't be enough to even scratch a world-class BOSS.

So he nodded and said, "Alright, we'll do as you say."

Chen Zixuan added, "Don't just focus on survival. If possible, have your people deal as much damage as they can. The lower the BOSS's HP, the better."

She had the execution-type godly skill [Silverflash Pierce], which could easily deal nearly a thousand true damage when the BOSS was low on health.

"Absolutely,"

Dawn's Light nodded.

The two quickly reached an agreement, and the atmosphere became more relaxed and friendly.

Just then, outside the woods, a player hurried over with a serious expression and said to Dawn's Light, "Captain, Pinnacle's people are gathering a team. Looks like they're preparing to enter the forest."

"I see,"

Dawn's Light nodded, then said to Chen Zixuan, "The other teams can't sit still any longer—we have to hurry."

Chen Zixuan pondered briefly and shook her head, "No rush. Let them scout the way first. World-class BOSSes aren't that easy to kill anyway."

"Then you decide,"

Dawn's Light readily handed over the command.

"How far from here to the BOSS's location?"

Chen Zixuan asked.

"About five kilometers, maybe a bit farther,"

Dawn's Light answered uncertainly.

Chen Zixuan estimated that at their walking speed, it would take about half an hour to cover five kilometers.

"Let's start heading there. I'll think over the remaining details and update everyone on the way."

After that, Dawn's Light gathered his team. Over a dozen people followed the trail toward the Nightshade Forest south of the main city.

Members of Dawn's Light's team led the way at the front. Chen Zixuan, not one to mingle, followed alone at the very rear of the group.

Amidst the sea of newbie gear, her pitch-black cloak stood out eye-catchingly. With an almost comically high rate of turning heads, she drew the attention of passing players all along the route.

"Hello, do you mind telling me where you got your gear from?" a male player in his twenties stopped Chen Zixuan with a polite smile.

Chen Zixuan responded coldly, sidestepping him with a smooth, fluid motion and continuing onward without a pause.

Only the passerby player remained, dazed, standing blankly in place with a mess of thoughts.

One member of Dawn's Light team, walking ahead, happened to look back and saw this scene.

He couldn't help but sidle up to Dawn's Light and whisper, "Captain, are we really teaming up with her? She doesn't talk to anyone—it feels really... unreliable."

Dawn's Light glanced at him and replied coolly, "Don't worry. She's killed a world-class BOSS solo—definitely more reliable than all of you put together."

"You trust her that much?" another teammate joined in.

Dawn's Light thought for a moment and said, "It's not that I trust her, it's that she trusts herself."

After a pause, he added, "This world-class BOSS is no joke—so many teams have been wiped out, yet when she heard about it she wasn't even a bit afraid. On the contrary, she seriously started asking me about the BOSS's info and prepared ahead, as if..."

"As if she's one hundred percent certain she can take down the world-class BOSS this time."
