"If you two are so eager to fight," Medea said in her usual flat, dispassionate tone, "why don't you do it properly?"
Lilith shot Medea a glance, her smile never faltering. "Oh, Medea, always the peacemaker," she teased. "But no, Abyss and I were just having a friendly chat."
Medea snorted. "Friendly chat or not, if you're going to fight, at least make it worth watching."
Abyss let out an irritated sigh and turned her gaze back to Adrian, her voice softer now but no less possessive. "You promised," she repeated, almost like a demand, her fingers curling into the fabric of his sleeve. "You're mine, remember?"
Adrian placed a hand gently on her arm, giving her a reassuring nod. "I haven't forgotten. I'm here now, Abyss."
She studied his face for a moment before exhaling slowly.
"Looks like you've got your hands full, husband," Lilith said, leaning in close and watching with her typical amusement.
Adrian could only sigh inwardly, glancing between the three goddesses. The day had barely begun, and already, the simmering tension was thick in the air.
Lilith planted a kiss on Adrian's cheek before stepping forward, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she squared off against Abyss. "You think you can handle me, Abyss?" she said confidently. "I've been doing this for far longer than you've been locked away."
Abyss's possessive gaze shifted back to Lilith, her expression hardening as a sharp smirk curled her lips. "Oh, I'm sure you have, Lilith," she replied, her voice cool but laced with disdain. "You've had centuries to perfect the art of spreading your legs for any man who gives you attention."
Lilith's eyes flashed with fury, the teasing amusement vanishing from her face in an instant. She took a step forward, squaring off against Abyss. "Slut? Really? That's the best you've got?" Lilith sneered, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'd watch your mouth if I were you, Persephone. You may be obsessed, but you're about to learn what it means to face someone who knows how to control herself."
The air between them thickened with tension, and Adrian could feel the energy crackling dangerously. Abyss didn't back down. Instead, she took a step closer, her eyes narrowing as a faint glow of purple flickered within her irises.
"I don't need control, Lilith," Abyss said, her voice turning icy. "I just need him. And I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you don't stand in my way."
Adrian moved to intervene, raising his hands in a placating gesture. "Alright, that's enough—"
Both Lilith and Abyss turned their glares toward him in unison, their eyes flashing with irritation.
"Stay out of this!" they snapped in unison, their voices overlapping.
Adrian sighed deeply, recognizing that stepping between them would be like trying to stop a hurricane. He glanced over at Medea, who was watching the scene unfold with mild interest, her arms crossed over her chest.
"Well, this is going to be entertaining," Medea remarked dryly. "Adrian? Let them be. I love a real challenge, instead of all this petty bickering."
Abyss narrowed her purple eyes and took a step toward Lilith, her body tense. "I don't care how long you've been free, Lilith. You don't understand what it means to want something, to need it so badly it consumes you."
Lilith's grin widened. "Oh, why don'y you show me?" Without warning, she moved, her body a blur as she lunged at Abyss, her speed faster than any mortal could follow.
Abyss was quick to react. She sidestepped Lilith's initial strike, her body moving with an otherworldly grace. The ground beneath her feet seemed to pulse with her power as she summoned a faint glow of purple energy around her hands.
Adrian watched as the two goddesses clashed, feeling the energy radiating off of them. Lilith struck out again with a move that can only be described as fluid, graceful, and deadly.
Abyss blocked the blow, her own power flaring in response.
The two women were evenly matched, their abilities both formidable and dangerous.
"I've had enough of your arrogance," Abyss growled, her purple eyes glowing brighter. She summoned a wave of energy, sending it crashing toward Lilith.
Lilith dodged the attack, her laughter filling the room. "You'll have to do better than that, darling."
Adrian stepped back, giving the two goddesses space as their powers clashed.
He had seen Lilith in battle before, but this was different. Abyss was relentless, driven by an obsession that fueled her every move.
The room was too small for such a confrontation. The walls trembled, cracks forming in the stone from the sheer pressure of their powers.
"Take it outside!" Medea shouted, realizing that if they continued, the entire building might collapse.
Without hesitation, Lilith and Abyss moved, their movements so fast that they were almost a blur. They burst through the doors and out into the open air, the morning light catching on their forms as they took their fight outside.
The people of Brenden, who were new to Adrian and his companions, quickly began to gather, curious to see what was happening. The sight of the two ladies squaring off in the middle of the village was enough to draw everyone's attention.
Ava, ever the opportunist, appeared on the scene almost immediately.
She swept in with her usual air of grace and confidence, her golden hair shining in the sunlight. "Alright, everyone, place your bets!" she called out, clapping her hands. "Who will win: the seductive warrior on my right or the obsessive one on my left?"
The villagers hesitated at first, unsure if it was wise to bet on something so dangerous, but Ava's charm was hard to resist. She moved through the crowd, collecting coins and making a spectacle out of the entire situation.
"Don't be shy!" Ava urged in a silky voice. "This is a rare opportunity! How often do you get to witness a fight between two powerful ladies? Come on, place your bets and watch the show!"
Meanwhile, Lilith and Abyss faced each other in the center of the village square, their powers crackling in the air between them.
Lilith's expression was one of amusement, her lips curled into a playful smile, while Abyss's face was set in determination, her eyes burning with obsession.
"I'll give you one last chance to back down," Lilith said in a light and teasing tone, but with an edge of seriousness. "You don't want to do this, Abyss. Trust me."
Abyss's eyes flared with anger. "I've been waiting for this moment for centuries, Lilith. I'm not backing down."
"Alright then," Lilith said, shrugging. "Let's see what you've got."
With that, the fight resumed. This time, however, the entire village was watching.
Lilith moved with incredible speed, her body a blur as she danced around Abyss, striking out with precision and grace. Abyss, in contrast, fought with a raw, overwhelming force.
The two women were evenly matched, their abilities clashing in a dazzling display of power. Lilith summoned tendrils of dark energy, lashing out at Abyss, who countered with waves of purple light that pulsed with the intensity of her need.
As they fought, the crowd grew larger, the villagers placing their bets and cheering for their chosen goddess. Ava moved through the crowd, collecting more and more money, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
Adrian, standing on the sidelines, could only watch as the two goddesses battled it out. He knew he should intervene, but at the same time, he could feel that this was something they needed to work out on their own.
The battle raged on, neither goddess willing to back down. Lilith's speed gave her an advantage, but Abyss's sheer force was enough to keep her in the fight. The ground cracked beneath them, and the air buzzed with energy as they exchanged blow after blow.
At one point, Lilith managed to get behind Abyss, wrapping her arms around her in a tight hold. "Give up," she whispered into Abyss's ear. "You can't win."
But Abyss wasn't about to be defeated so easily. With a surge of power, she broke free from Lilith's grip, spinning around and sending a pulse of energy that knocked Lilith back several feet.
The crowd gasped in awe, the tension reaching a fever pitch as the two goddesses stood facing each other, both breathing heavily from the intensity of the fight.
Adrian could see it now—they were both pushing themselves to their limits, but neither was going to win this fight. It was a draw, plain and simple.
"Enough!" Adrian called out, stepping forward. "You're both evenly matched. This fight isn't going to go anywhere."
Lilith and Abyss turned to him, their gazes still fierce, but they both knew he was right. There was no clear winner here, and continuing the fight would only cause more damage.
Lilith wiped a trickle of sweat from her brow and flashed Abyss a grin. "Not bad," she admitted, her tone still teasing but with a hint of respect. "You're stronger than I expected."
Abyss, though still bristling with energy, gave a curt nod. "You're not so bad yourself."
