Boosted Continuation – A new world (GL)

Chapter 202 – Detail questions

Most of the group went to the royal castle to enjoy a magic show hosted by Ellie. The show consisted of the little tiger creating a small pool to cool down in the hot weather with magic while boasting about her new powers. Naturally, everyone, especially her parents, was quite impressed and praised her lots in return.

"My, both sisters at the same time, what can I do for you?" The day after Sophia visited Ellie, she took Steph to visit Mira in the hut in her domain. There, the overseer lightly waved at them before welcoming the two in.

"We have questions!"

"Why do I feel like we've had this exchange before?" Mira felt a slight hint of déjà-vu.

"Don't worry about it~." The two smiled at her.

"Suddenly, I am very worried." It had the opposite effect on her, but she still guided them into the living room of her hut, where everyone got comfortable.

"Is Fey not here?" Steph was surprised by the lack of a certain other fox.

"She just left a couple of minutes ago to meet Chloe." Mira smiled at her. "Actually, I'm surprised you missed each other on the way."

"Ahh, I see." She wasn't overly bothered by it.

"So, what's up?" The overseer got back to the topic at hand. "What questions do you have?"

"A few days ago, our parents came to visit. We had them meet Maya's parents, showed them around in my domain, and then showed them the beastfolk capital from afar." Sophia explained the situation.

"Is that so?"

"Yup!" The dog-girl nodded. "We overloaded them just a little bit, but they seemed to like it. They were interested, too."

"Your family is something else." Mira just stared at them. "Normal people would have a complete meltdown and existential crisis after learning that there are multiple worlds."

"And yet, they were the most shocked that I have a girlfriend…" The blonde let out a strained sigh.

"Haha." She reacted with a slight chuckle.

"Well, they were completely flabbergasted, to be perfectly honest." Steph reconsidered her earlier statement. "Seeing it with your own eyes rather than just being told makes it a lot harder to not believe, though."

"That's fair."

"Can we ask you to also give them the language translation thing to help them understand the people of this world?" Sophia cut right to the point. "Just like basically everyone else in our group at this point. We'd like them to be able to explore this place while understanding what is going on around them."

"Is that all?" Mira tilted her head.

"Ideally, we'd want them to live here, but that's for them to decide." Sophia scratched her cheek. "If they explore it and end up liking the world, we'll make it happen!"

"No, I mean whether the language buff is all you need." The overseer looked at her. "That alone is not enough for them to mingle with the beastfolk without raising all sorts of suspicion."

"We know." Steph nodded a few times. "Sophia and I want to give them some of our magic for starters to make them feel like members of the beastfolk while they're pretending to be hidden. Boring, but I accept it for now!" She still wanted to see her father with dog ears and a tail.

"That could work for them, but you can't gift them magic." Mira slowly shook her head while glancing at the dog-girl.

"Huh?!" She got loud. "I did that with Chloe already, though?!" Steph looked confused.

"You boosted her magic." The overseer corrected her. "The difference here is that she already had magic. Only overseers can gift magic to individuals who don't already have at least some amount of their own.

"No way?!"

"Sophia could do it, though." Mira smiled at her.

"Huh?!" This time, the blonde got loud. "I am still no overseer!"

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

"Except for the amount of raw magic that you're still very much lacking, you have all the features of an overseer."

"…" Sophia's feelings on the topic were still somewhat mixed.

"Alright, change of plans!" Steph suddenly clapped her hands. "Sis, you'll gift them magic, and once they have a little, I'll boost them some more! That way, we can still share the load!"

"That should work." The overseer simply nodded.

"Seems like a plan, yes." The blonde liked the idea and forgot about the other issue. "Let's do it like that."

"Yay!"

"Do you think having your whole direct family relocate worlds is the way to go, though?" Mira wanted to make sure they thought it through.

"Absolutely!" The dog-girl just nodded.

"If they want to, I think it's a great opportunity." Sophia gave it some more thought. "This world lacks some quality-of-life amenities here and there, as well as some entertainment for lazy days like TVs or other electronics, but the first one is currently being addressed by me already. My portals make many things much easier. Also, there's so much to see in this world that there's plenty to keep you busy with. On top of that, if any of us has a craving for something Earthly, we can still go and get it. We're not going to introduce anything from there to the general public, but it's fine for our little group in my eyes."

"Exactly!" Steph felt the same.

"Besides that, I'm convinced that the actual quality of life is much higher in this world. Magic alone puts it leagues above Earth."

"Hehe." The overseer of magic liked that. "Personally, I don't mind them being here, and I'm okay with giving them the language gift. I also find it pretty nice and commendable that you two want to take care of integrating them, besides that, on your own. Even so, you should talk with Canir about it, too. You're using the magic he gave you to bring more people to this world, of which he is the main overseer. He should at least be informed about it."

"That's totally fair!" She wasn't against that. "In fact, it's been quite a while since I've last met him, so I'm actually looking forward to it!"

"Now that you mention it, it has been a while for me, too." Mira nodded along. "I wonder why?" She then tilted her head.

"Yeah!"

"Weren't you two avoiding him because he threatened to put an irremovable statue of himself in both your domains because you teased him so much during the last time he visited us?" Steph remembered their last meeting with Canir.

"A-Ah." The two in question froze. "R-Right…"

"I probably shouldn't have mentioned that, huh?" Steph scratched her cheek.

"Anyway, I'd like to meet your parents, too." Mira changed the topic. "After all, as you're dating our Chloe, it only makes sense for us to get together. In fact, I am ever so slightly miffed that Maya's parents got to meet them first." She started pouting at the end, although it was quite apparent that she was only playing.

"To be fair, Maya's parents are a lot less intimidating for regular people who have never met a higher being. It was super hard to make them understand the difference between an overseer and a goddess already, so any more than that would've completely overloaded them."

"You're not wrong."

"Seriously, what is the difference?!" Steph's gaze wandered between the two.

"Shush." They just smiled at her.

"I really hope Canir will put a statue the size of a skyscraper smack in the middle of your domains. Right behind this hut and our cottage." The dog-girl didn't like their reaction. "In fact, that's exactly what I'm going to suggest him doing the next time I see him!"

"…"

"That being said, I definitely want you to meet our parents, as well." Steph then gave Mira a thumbs-up. "You and Fey, of course."

"My, aren't you brave to have them meet Fey?" Recovered from the statue threat, Mira's expression changed into a slight smirk.

"Of course!" She gave her a strong reply.

"I don't really see the issue." Sophia tilted her head. "I mean, it's more than obvious that Fey likes Steph a whole lot. Everyone can see that."

"Exactly~." Steph's smile got even brighter.

"Not everyone can see it." Mira disagreed. "Everyone except Fey can see it."

"She adores me!"

"I wouldn't go that far." The teal fox dampened her enthusiasm a little.

"Ahaha." Steph knew she was slightly pushing it there.

"I can also give them the language blessing when we meet, so it would make sense to do that before they go exploring."

"True." Sophia thought so, too.

"Let's go!" The dog-girl's excitement rose once more. "Let's tell them immediately!" She jumped off the sofa and smiled at her sister while saying so.

"Sure thing!" The blonde nodded. "How about you go ahead and tell Chloe and Fey about the plan? There are one or two more detail questions I'd like to ask Mira."

"Okay!" Not questioning it because she was too excited, Steph immediately dashed away.

"She's such a puppy." Mira let out a small chuckle while watching her disappear.

"Her transformation was literally perfect." Sophia nodded in agreement.

"So, what's the detail thing about?" The overseer then tilted her head. "I was under the impression that everything was clear regarding your parents?"

"Who said my question is about this topic?"

"You're such a sly girl." Mira rolled her eyes.

"Ehehe."

"So?"

"We mentioned that we visited the desert with a massive green oasis in the middle of it not too long ago, right?"

"I heard a lot of complaining from Steph and Chloe about it, yes. Whining, too." The overseer looked tired for a second. "What about it?"

"Why is there a massive dragon sleeping inside the lake there?" Sophia looked right at her. "Not to mention the part where it seemingly had a lot more power than any of us. Like, a lot a lot. Wasn't Aura supposed to be at the limit of what's naturally possible in terms of magic power? Then again, she also got stronger after playing around in my domain, so, yeah, add that to my questions, actually."

"Ah, you noticed Kel there, huh?" Mira awkwardly scratched her cheek.

"Kel?"

"Kelrax." She smiled at the tiger. "That's his name."

"Ohh!"

"This could take a while, you know?"

"Both of us can stop time, so that really isn't an issue, is it?" Sophia shrugged.

Afterward, the two got comfortable again, and Sophia waited in anticipation to hear a nice story from the teal fox.
