Sophia decided to thoroughly introduce Fen to her parents, which resulted in varying amounts of success. After all, the wolf was a sassy one, so he used the chance to tell them all about Sophia's escapades. Even so, as he liked the tiger a whole lot, Fen still made sure to include a healthy number of good points about her.
"I'm so sorry about him!" After having chatted with them for a little longer, Fen eventually left Sophia with her parents, and the tiger quickly apologized for what had happened.
"What happened?" After the wolf left, Steph joined them instead and got curious about why her older sister looked so stressed.
"Fenny told them way too much about my mishaps with magic." She scratched her cheek. "As well as my whimsical use of it."
"Ahh." The dog-girl shrugged before smiling at their parents. "Isn't it amazing how much fun our idiot is having in her new life?"
"That, uhhh… That is certainly true." Lydia could only nod.
"If you're looking at it that way, there's nothing else to say." Pete felt the same.
"Also, I'm sure you're happy to hear that my magic is a little more limited. It can't go out of control like hers because mine has limitations." She gave Lydia and Pete a thumbs-up while her expression turned into a cheeky smirk. "I'll continue to try, though!"
"I really hope those limitations are sturdy."
"Yes!" The parents got concerned again.
"I'd think so." Steph nodded. "Whenever Sophia does something big with magic, everyone in the world around her is beyond shocked. That would mean it never happened before and is basically unprecedented because magic normally isn't capable of doing such things."
"So, the world, or magic, isn't dangerous, but Sophia is?" Pete tried to make sense of it.
"Pretty much!" The dog-girl nonchalantly confirmed it.
"Hey!" The tiger didn't like that. "Hard to argue against, though…"
"Please don't take that against the world, okay?" Steph got a little more serious. "Earth also has people being in a league of their own who don't represent 99.99994% of the population."
"Don't worry about it too much." Pete smiled at her. "From what and how Eve and Theo told us about their world, it was clear that magic's just a mundane everyday thing to them. While I still don't understand it, it was clear that it's nothing scary."
"That's great!" The sisters were relieved to hear that.
"Speaking of magic, isn't there something you want to tell us about Chloe and her family?" Lydia suddenly stared daggers at the dog-girl.
"Whatever do you mean?" Her eyes began to shift around.
"How about the part where her mother is the goddess of magic in their world?! Don't you think that's worth mentioning?!"
"Overseer of magic." Sophia instantly corrected her.
"What's the difference?!"
"Uhh… It's different, okay?!" She didn't really have an explanation. Especially in Mira's case, because she actually influences magic rather than just watching over it.
"I wanted you to like Chloe for who she is, not who or what her parents are." The dog-girl just looked back at her mother.
"…" This absolutely perfect reply from her daughter made Lydia speechless.
"Wow." Her father was just as impressed. "That was one of the smoothest things I've heard in a while."
"Ehehe~." Steph was quite proud of herself for that.

"Also, to be fair, I also only found out about it after we started dating." She scratched her cheek. "Actually, so did Chloe."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Lydia looked confused.
"Chloe didn't know that Mira, the overseer of magic, was her mother for the longest time. In fact, we all found out about it together. It's a long and rather complicated story. One that we can talk about when the people in question are present. After all, I'd like you to meet Fey and Mira at some point, as well. Today, we started with Maya's parents because they're much less overwhelming."
"And we thank you for that." Their parents were already plenty overwhelmed, even without meeting them.
"Regardless of all of that, what do you really think about the world after having talked with Maya's parents for a while?" The dog-girl wanted to know more about their opinion.
"It's too early to say that."
"Yes." Pete felt the same as his wife. "We'd like to see more of it before coming to a conclusion."
"Let's go!" That was all Steph needed to hear.
"That's a much more positive reply than I had expected!" Sophia was also happy about it.
"We've heard a lot of good things, and you two very openly love this world. Giving it a fair chance is the least we should do." Pete smiled at them again.
"That's how it is." Lydia nodded along.
"Awesome!" The sisters were getting excited.
"Do you want to see the world? The actual one, not this place." Sophia tilted her head as she looked at their parents. "Not a real tour, just a quick glance here and there."
"I'm not sure if that's a good idea." Lydia scratched her cheek. "From what we've heard from Eve and Theo, we aren't quite ready for it yet, and would attract too much attention or something like that."
"I want to show you the world itself, not the inhabitants." The tiger shook her head. "If my inner clock is right, which it is 15% of the time, it should be past sunset there already, so running into someone is rather unlikely, especially in places where there are normally no people in the first place."
"There's plenty of interesting and beautiful nature to see!" Steph liked the idea of her older sister.
"Should we?" Lydia looked at her husband for help.
"Ga~!" It was Sari, being held by her father, who answered her instead.
"I guess there's not much else to say there, is there?" Pete gave her daughter a slight squeeze. "Also, at this point, we might as well keep going because the damage's already done, so we get over with as many things as possible in one go."
"Fair enough." His wife agreed. "I'll probably have to lie down and recover for an entire week after this day, so it would be for the best to keep going now."
"Na!" Sari suddenly shook her head.
"Yes, dear, I know you won't let me do that." Lydia smiled at her baby daughter.
"I'll gladly babysit her for a week!" Sophia immediately jumped at the chance.
"You only want to have her for that long to make sure to imprint even more of this world on her."
"That's just a positive side-effect!" The tiger shook her head. "I mainly love the idea of being able to care for a baby for a while!"
"Oh, yeah, about that, Eve told me quite a few things about looking forward to becoming a grandmother. Do you have any comments regarding that?" The topic made Lydia remember the conversation they had with Maya's parents.
"Ah." Sophia froze for a moment. "I like kids. I want kids. I can have kids now. I will have kids eventually. Eventually." She said the last part twice because it was important. "It won't be too soon because being ready is important, but it's definitely one of my goals."
"I like the resolve." Pete also looked at his daughter. "Surely, it's not something to rush, so it's good to hear that you take being ready into consideration.
"That is true, I guess?" Lydia hadn't expected such a strong and determined reply. "I was quite taken by surprise that I first heard about the idea of such plans from the parents of your girlfriend, though."
"To be fair, you also only met my girlfriend today, so there weren't many opportunities where we could've brought it up."
"Hard to argue against that, either."
"I'm just lucky that Eve and Theo like me a lot, so they're quite excited about knowing that I'd be okay with giving them grandchildren eventually, I guess?" She shrugged. "I hope they still like me after today, too. You all had a nice long chat today, after all."
"Don't worry." Lydia smiled at her. "They didn't believe a single word, no matter how hard we tried." Her expression turned mischievous for a second. "On a more serious note, we only talked a little about how your past had more downs than ups, but still praised you plenty regardless. For the overwhelming majority, we talked about the world they live in that you ended up in, too."
"Phew, saved!" She let out a relieved sigh. "I actually tried to tell them about my past before, as well. While they believed that I was more reserved and shy, the two refused to believe the full extent."
"It is hard to imagine when you only met the current Sophia." Steph could see where their issue was. "Or rather, impossible to imagine. Like, a little over a year and a half ago, you were utterly unable to talk with girls at all. Now, you're talking about grandchildren with your girlfriend's parents."
"Ahaha…" The tiger scratched her cheek. "You got me there."
"That also was a topic we talked about." Pete looked at their daughters. "Missing out on things."
"Well, there's one way to catch up!"
"Let's go!"
The sisters took the transition and acted faster than their parents could react. Sophia opened a portal while Steph instantly moved behind Lydia and Pete to gently, but with absolute vigor, push them through the freshly opened gate to the actual new world the tiger and dog-girl had been living in now. There was lots to show, after all.
