The Prince of Demons

Blood and Ichor Pt. 2

Krahinn, what are the odds that clone me can use my <Lord's Eye>? I inquired as the fear in my family was palpable. Was that how much <Mana> I eventually had? Umbra was creaking from the sheer amount of <Mana> he possessed.

Good news, even Nyx cannot copy that <Imprint> or <Lord's Eye> of yours. Krahinn told me with a tone of dread.

What about everything else? I checked, fearing the answer was what I thought it was.

Don't ask stupid questions. You are about to see just how little you actually need the <Arcane Eye> to cast your <Spells>. Krahinn snapped at me.

"Krahinn, what are we looking at?" Papa inquired as adult Luna and me stared blankly back at us.

"Recreated copies of adult Luna and Nil; no will of their own but copied all the abilities. Nyx likely loaded them with a strong desire to kill Nil's family." Krahinn answered with dread in his voice.

What about you? I inquired, wondering if he could be attacked by this.

I'll be fine but we need to focus. Krahinn warned me.

Before I could ask for clarification, copy me finally began their assault. What was I witnessing? Umbra folded around all of us as the space contorted into a sphere to contain everyone inside of Umbra. In a blink, copy Nil swung his sword with a massive <Astral Slash> as he attempted to cleave my family in half. Nautilus used her scaled hand to block the attack which got followed up by Luna materializing next to her already swinging into her ribs. I think that was the first time I saw Nautilus bend almost in half from the force while I could hear several things crack and pop. Uncle Nez, Uncle Nox, Mama, Papa, Dad, and Mom all had eruptions of blood. What? When? How? I felt Krahinn rewind time partially as adult me was already attacking me at the end of the time rewind. Krahinn tried using <Warping Ward> to deflect the assault as everything seemed inverted from my point of view. Krahinn shoved adult me aside as the world spiraled around us to move Krahinn and I back into the path of his attack.

Papa tried assisting from the side, only for a second phantom sword to swing down straight between his eyes. He barely got his sword up to block the attack, slamming him into the ground as his sword broke from the force behind the attack. Nautilus began dealing with adult Luna, an action that only seemed to infuriate clone me. At least that trait is consistent. What does that mean? Target the weak link. Krahinn immediately launched a <Rift> at copy Luna that immediately was grabbed by copy Nil and swung like a sword right back at us. Seriously? How? There was a blur, and then countless slashes erupted all at once with deadly precision at my family. Uncle Nez conjured a <Shadow Wall> that instantly got assaulted with several <Void Magic> knives before it even blocked them partly. Why did he keep shimmering? What was that shimmer?

My family all went to dodge, where clone Nil materialized in an instant next to Uncle Nez stabbing his sword for his heart. Krahinn instantly used <Shift> to move Uncle Nez out of the way as the space around us had several <Rotational Axes> battle for supremacy, causing contortions in space as Papa, Dad, and Uncle Nox all supported Krahinn against the clone of me. How was he so strong? Moron, just because you struggled with Scius didn't mean you were weak; <Celestial Tier Affinity> is incredibly powerful; granted if I knew this was in our future I would've not tried annihilating all of Ryker in one attack. In an instant, ten <Rifts> all went for Krahinn. Son of a bezka his ability to manipulate time is brutal. He shimmered ever so slightly, which I think meant more time <Magic> was inbound. Why did it shimmer right before time <Magic> unleashed? You're the only one able to see the shimmer, the rest of us don't have that luxury. Oh, great.

Apparently clone me was not satisfied, as several copies of him all appeared attacking everyone with massive claps of thunder from his strength. Wait, where was Luna? All I could see were copies of myself. It's an illusion, use my eyes to see through it. From his perspectives there were still a few copies of myself, as they unleashed a barrage of <Spells>. How did I make those copies? You create pockets of time grabbing the various instances of yourself to fight along yourself, and then violently sever the time that created them. That didn't sound like it ended well. Luna already began her next <Spell> from behind my copy protecting her. What all could <Soul Magic> do? Mental attacks, but that is not your problem; stopping the time nonsense is our sole focus. That reply was met with three rapid shimmers as Krahinn immediately shot out several <Warping Wards> and <Dark Nebulas> to block whatever was inbound. Nautilus attempted to attack Luna but was intercepted by one of the replicas which instantly vanished in a miniature black hole, twisting her inwards with an unnatural crunch as Luna followed up with a hook straight to her head. Nautilus launched towards the ground where Mom caught her before she slammed against the ground. Mom's hands were glowing with <Healing Magic> as she tried using some distance forced healing on copy Nil who unfortunately shattered it with <Void Magic>. I was nowhere near as creative as I could have been with <Void Magic> was a glaring lesson from all of this.

"How do we deal with this?" Dad snarled in irritation.

"I imagine by dealing with clone Nil first because I do not think we're getting close to clone Luna while he breathes." Uncle Nox snapped in irritation.

Was she being that problematic? You do not grasp just how much I am evening the playing field right now for you. I clearly had a long way to go, unfortunately. You are looking at what you could do without my help. Not entirely sure that was meant to be comforting, but I knew now was not the time. I had no idea how much Luna was distorting everyone's senses thanks to Krahinn, which was so comforting to learn. We had no time to strategize as clone me apparently at no point stopped casting <Spells> at my family. Several metal rods manifested by him as he began tracking where each family member was. Oh, <Rail Shot>. Great. I loved seeing my own <Magic> get used against me. I've done it plenty, focus. There was another shimmer, and space began twisting again as several bright orbs appeared behind the metal as the copies charged towards us.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Each of them dissolved themselves into small black holes as the orbs exploded, launching with massive explosions as streaks of light towards their targets. Each were intercepted with <Magic> as my family was assaulted from both sides. Nautilus, Papa, and Uncle Nox all rushed clone me, trying to attack as he vanished. In an instant, there was a foot in Nautilus face, a sword deflecting Papa's, and a headbutt into Uncle Nox's skull as he launched an orb of light over his back straight at Dad. Uncle Nez, Nautilus, Mama, and Mom all joined against the construct of me, trying to gain any form of ground against him. One shimmer later and everyone was in switched positions in a blink with construct me folding Nautilus over his knee. Are backs that flexible? No, no they're not you forling moron. Nautilus began falling as copy me was immediately slugging Mom across the face with enough force that the space around his fist distorted before pivoting into knee from the other side. Mom collapsed as she clearly got knocked out, bleeding profusely from the attack.

Krahinn immediately intercepted with Papa and Mama to try and deal with the clone of me. At this point I was more a passenger to Krahinn's control as he was heavily borrowing my <Arcane Eye> to try and mitigate the endless assault of time manipulation copy of me was spamming. Nautilus was limp on the ground, green blood oozing from her mouth as her breathing was quite shallow while Mom was motionless with a monstrous black bruise from where the knee slammed into her. Focus Nil, we do not have time to worry about others; Nautilus and your mom aren't dead. Duke Dawnsfield was moving and protecting Mom and Nautilus away from the ongoing fight. Papa attacked clone me with their swords clashing as Mama came from the side. Mama appeared on the other side of clone Nil who deflected Papa's sword away as he shifted into a fast kick. Uncle Nox came from behind to blitz the construct who manifested two swords of <Void Magic> to deflect the sword away as the other came swinging down.

Uncle Nez used <Abyss Spike> to protect Uncle Nox from the attack which warranted a barrage of <Cuts> towards him. I could cast that many without using my <Arcane Eye>? Dad went to attack thin air, which must have been the Luna construct's doing. Were we gaining any ground against the two of them? I was struggling to even grasp just how many <Spells> and <Techniques> were clashing at the moment as the construct copies of Luna and me seemed to effortlessly produce a response and counter despite being outnumbered. Just how much ability did Nyx instill into the two of them? How did these copies work? Was there some form of weakness we could exploit?

Outside your general protectiveness of Luna? Doubtful. Krahinn lectured me.

I meant in the fact they are constructs. How do these differ from <Homunculi>? I asked, trying to think of something.

These are basically soulless puppets, and they are called <Automatons>. They copy everything about a person but their personality, beliefs, and their way of thinking. This is how good at fighting the two of you were, and I believe Nyx programmed them to kill everyone but you. That is going to be their sole instructions. Krahinn explained quickly while making a few plates of <Dark Nebula> to block the next onslaught of the <Automaton's> attack.

Why isn't clone me using <Cosmic Alchemy>? I probed because I didn't understand why he wouldn't just cast that <Spell>.

It would kill you. Save your questions for after. Krahinn snapped at me.

I wasn't sure how to feel by the fact the sole handicap on the <Automatons> was not able to kill me. I didn't want to distract Krahinn as the brawl ensued, so I kept my remained questions to myself. Mom and Nautilus were still on the ground motionless. What could I do to help? All I was currently providing was the ability to tell when some time based <Magic> was inbound and some limited <Arcane Eye> functionality. So many <Spells> were rapidly firing and stunting each other as Luna made some odd hand gesture before all my family froze for a second. What <Spell> was that? Krahinn was coughing as my body felt something inside crack a bit; that could not be good if I had some sensation from whatever she just did.

Forling Lords above I forgot she knew that <Spell>. Krahinn grumbled mentally as time shot back a few seconds. The rest of me family looked fine now, but Krahinn clearly was feeling the strain.

Are you okay? I checked as I could feel Krahinn's exhaustion.

The <Backlash> of what you did to Ryker and dealing with the endless time <Spells> from the <Automaton> are taking their toll. I'll be fine, and you should be fine. Krahinn answered. He had been staying mostly on the defense as my family kept trying to deal with the <Automaton>.

Can they run out of <Mana>? I probed, hoping there was a limit.

In theory. We do not want to try that strategy. Krahinn answered as he sounded tired. If Krahinn sounded this tired, the strain of what he was dealing was much greater than I realized.

Uncle Nez made several spears of <Void Magic> as he protected my mom from Luna trying to slug her on the ground. <Automaton> me went to attack with an <Astral Slash> to slice her in half to stop her from recovering and being able to heal everyone else. With a rapid set of pivots from my clone, Papa, Mama, and Dad were all launched in various directions from his attacks, sounding like successive thunderclaps from the powerful hits. Copy Nil threw his sword at Uncle Nez, coated with a ridiculous amount of <Void Magic>, barreling towards him. Uncle Nez used several <Shadow Walls> to slow it down as he tried dodging to the side. <Automaton> Nil used <Rotational Axes> to move Uncle Nez back in line with the attack, pinning him in the way of the sword as he broke the walls with <Void Magic> needles. Krahinn went to <Warping Ward> the attack aside, but <Automaton> Luna and Nil both began attacking me directly to force Krahinn to block. Uncle Nox desperately used <Warp> to get between the two, shoving Uncle Nez out of the way as his arm was nearly chopped off by the sword. Uncle Nox began staggering, looking pale as his arm was bleeding profusely and clawing at his chest with his good arm. Then I realized in <Automaton> Nil's hand was some red, pulsing muscle that he crushed as Uncle Nox fell to the ground limp.
