Classification: Fist of the Legion – Advanced Unarmed Technique
Creator: Vaeliyan Verdance
Colloquial Name: The Tomahawk Kick
Overview
The Tomahawk Kick is a rare and devastating maneuver within the Fist of the Legion. It does not represent the first instance of corpse weaponization, but it stands out as one of the few techniques to combine live-strike execution with midair corpse redeployment.
The move involves kicking an enemy with enough force to launch them into the air and not splitting them in half, then pursuing them midflight, seizing their body, and throwing them down at clustered enemies like a spinning axe. It effectively converts a dying body into a high-velocity fragmentation bomb.
This technique is not graceful. It is remembered for its raw brutality, its shock value, and its demoralizing impact on anyone who witnesses it.
Methodology
Phase One: Uplift
A rising kick drives into the lower torso or pelvis, propelling the target straight up at lethal velocity. Bones shatter from the initial force, priming them for disintegration on impact.
Phase Two: Pursuit
Vaeliyan launches after them, using air-stepping, flight stabilization, or short-range translocation to close the gap while maintaining full control of his body midair.

Phase Three: Seizure
He intercepts the target before they reach their apex, grabbing an arm, leg, or spine as they ragdoll. Their body is already fracturing under G-force and air shear.
Phase Four: The Tomahawk
He pivots through an aerial spin and hurls them downward in a tight overhand arc into enemy ranks. The broken body rotates end over end, flinging bone shards outward like the blades of an axe.
Phase Five: Catastrophic Impact
The corpse hits with enough force to detonate both itself and the targets it strikes, creating a localized blast of flesh, bone, and high-velocity fragments that wounds or kills anyone nearby.
Tactical Requirements
Requires midair stabilization or flight capabilities, or equivalent Skill assistance.
Extremely high risk; mistiming leaves the user exposed midair.
Cannot be taught to standard cadets due to the complex coordination and mobility required.
Best deployed against tight enemy formations for maximum shrapnel effect.
Psychological Effect
The Tomahawk Kick is considered one of the most morale-breaking visual techniques in the Legion arsenal.
Witnesses often describe it as "watching someone get turned into a bomb while still screaming their death rattle."
Known to halt enemy advances mid-charge simply from the terror of seeing it performed.
Survivors frequently enter shock or catatonia after witnessing it at close range.
Cultural Note
While corpse-based techniques exist within the Fist of the Legion, few require this level of aerial control, precision, and cold intent.Where most corpse-based techniques are accidents of overwhelming force, the Tomahawk Kick is intentional.
It is not elegant. It is a calculated atrocity.
