Chapter 1146 Nine Layers Of Heavens
“Yuan West Sky Continent’s War Emperor Lingwu has arrived!
“Black North Sky Continent’s War Emperor Xuanli has arrived!”
“Spirit Soul Sky Continent’s War Empress Lingfeng has arrived!
…
As these announcements were made, distinguished martialists strode into the palace, which was entirely constructed from a scarlet sacred stone that Luo Yunyang had never seen before.
The lowest cultivation base amongst them was the peak Taichu Yuan Venerate, but there were even Taiyi Yuan Venerates.
Luo Yunyang felt as though some of the Taiyi Yuan Venerates seemed weak, just like the self-severed Supreme Incarcerate Ruler.
While the supervisor had told Luo Yunyang that he was supposed to entertain and welcome the guests, Luo Yunyang slowly began to realize that it wasn’t necessary.
He had been told to welcome the less important guests, while the VIPs would be personally welcomed by the members of the Luo Family.
The Luo Family Luo Jiutian had been born into![1]
Luo Yunyang had not had much of an impression of the Luo Family prior to this until Luo Jiutian had slaughtered those who’d provoked him. Basically, only Luo Yunyang’s family resided in this giant war palace.
The Luo Family’s relatives came from the sky when it was time to welcome the guests.
Luo Yunyang learned from Qing Ruhai that Luo Jiutian had been born into the Luo Family, which was one of the nine great families of the Eastern Sacred Sky Continent. However, the relations between them had become strained when Luo Jiutian had returned with his injuries.
There were hardly any visitors in Luo Jiutian’s war palace, except for the occasional visits from one or two disciples.
Based on the way the Luo Family joyously welcomed its guests, it was obvious that they were living in comfort and prosperity. However, right now, Luo Yunyang’s thoughts were focused on getting into the Taixu Sect.
Who would have known that there were nine layers of Heaven in the Vast Sky Sacred Realm!
While Luo Yunyang was not sure about the specifics of the nine layers of Heaven, he was quite sure that the door to becoming a Taiyi Yuan Venerate was slowly opening up for him.
“What are you doing here? Can’t you see that everybody is busy?” Someone’s voice was heard in the background.
Luo Yunyang hadn’t noticed the person standing right next to him because he had been deep in thought.
He only looked up after hearing this reprimand.
It was a teenager who looked around seventeen or eighteen years of age and had the cultivation base of a sixth-level Heavenly Venerate. It was actually rare to see someone of that age reach such a cultivation level in the Vast Sky Sacred Realm.
Luo Yunyang had seen the teen before. Since his father seemed to have some sort of relation to the Luo Family, this was also one of the family members who had come along.
This fella definitely gave off an unpleasant vibe.
Luo Yunyang was completely disinterested in having to deal with the likes of someone so insignificant. “Who are you?” he asked while looking at the seething teen.
“Who am I? I am one of the core members of the Luo Family. Remember to use honorifics when you see me,” he replied arrogantly. “Can’t you see that everyone is busy? Quick, go get a few more stools.” He ordered him before pointing in a certain direction.
There were already servants who were responsible for arranging the stools. This action was a deliberate attempt to strike back at Luo Yunyang.
Luo Yunyang glanced at the youngster before he turned and left. He was simply uninterested in having a squabble over something so trivial.
Many people in the giant hall had already seen the small tiff between Luo Yunyang and that youngster. These were, after all, exceptionally talented people, so this matter couldn’t have escaped their eyes.
“Did… Did you not hear my orders? You lowborn maggot! Do not consider yourself part of the Luo Family just because you have some kind of relation to us. Let me tell you something… You do not share the same bloodline with us! Furthermore, pieces of trash like you, who do not have Dao Energy, are…”
Luo Yunyang felt that it would be a waste of energy to retaliate. He thus glanced at the servant assigned to him by Luo Jiutian, who was a peak Heavenly Venerate martialist.
“Li Wu, send him away!”
Li Wu was one of the bodyguards of Luo Jiutian. Upon hearing Luo Yunyang’s orders, he rushed over and glanced at the teen awkwardly, finding it hard to take action.
“Ha ha ha! You actually tried to get a servant to deal with me? Ask him if he even has what it takes to deal with me! If he dares lay a finger on me, I’ll make sure he meets a miserable end,” the youngster said fearlessly.
“Also… you really are useless if you are getting someone else to deal with me on your behalf. In that case, what right do you have to waste our resources and enter the Taixu Sect?”
The youngster clearly expressed a mix of anger and jealousy when he mentioned the Taixu Sect.
Luo Yunyang understood more about what was going on when he noticed the youngster’s behavior. The reason he was picking a bone with Luo Yunyang was because he was jealous that he was able to enter the Taixu Sect.
Luo Yunyang felt that he would be wasting his energy by dealing with such an insignificant person.
“Have you forgotten who you serve?” He glanced at Li Wu.
“I will comply with your orders!” Li Wu replied with a sudden change of expression.
Li Wu then threw a heavy punch at the teen. While Li Wu may not have reached the status of a Taishi Yuan Venerate, his attacking prowess wasn’t something a sixth-level Heavenly Venerate youngster could handle.
The youngster rose into the air in an attempt to retreat from the attack. However, Li Wu’s punch was strange and seemed to block off any form of escape route the teen had.
The instant Li Wu’s fist was about to strike the youngster, it came to an abrupt stop.
There hadn’t been any intent to stop him, but this was the result of a force that left him frozen in mid-air.
Luo Yunyang felt it instantly: The one behind all this was a Taichu Yuan Venerate. There was no way that Li Wu could contend against someone who had control over great path nomological laws.
“He he… So young… Instead of learning as much as you can, you are bullying others. What a disappointment. Initially, I still hoped that you would become a trusted aide of our family, but since you are so worthless, I will never let a jerk like you enter the Luo Family,” said one of the four elders of the Luo Family.
He was the one who had dealt with Li Wu and also the one who was reprimanding Luo Yunyang!
“The Luo Family is established and prestigious, but I have never thought about being a part of it. Could this just be wishful thinking on Your Honor’s part?”
Luo Yunyang could sense that his father’s spiritual consciousness was present. Hence, even though he could settle this matter in an instant, he just did not want to personally make a move. “Please take a look at the mirror in the future to remember where you stand before you try to talk and take on other people.” Luo Yunyang rebutted.
“Furthermore, this is my house. You are an outsider who is interfering. Did you actually think that my father is a pushover?”
“What nonsense! I am one of the four elders of the Luo Family. Naturally, I have a say in matters regarding anybody within the family.” The elder laughed. “Even if Jiutian were around today, I would still have to teach a jerk like you a lesson!”
He reached out with his hands to grab Luo Yunyang as he spoke. While Luo Yunyang had already regained his strength, he did not wish to reveal his powers in a world he knew so little about right away.
Furthermore, he too wanted to see what he was actually worth in the eyes of his father.
“Father, save me! Someone is trying to kill me!” Luo Yunyang screamed like this for the first time as the man reached out to grab him.
In that instant, a wave of powerful sword intent surged over and enveloped the elder.
While the elder was also a Taishi Yuan Venerate, he felt fear and anxiety under the influence of the sword intent and immediately stopped.
“Jiutian, this man right here disrespected his elders and embarrassed you. He is an utter disgrace. I have to bring him back to the hall of the Luo Family and make him reflect.” The elder spoke to Luo Jiutian deferentially despite obviously showing signs of discomfort.
The reason for his cordiality was Luo Jiutian’s cultivation.
“Only I can put my son in place. What does this have to do with your family?” Luo Jiutian said icily.
“Jiutian, are you not intending to adhere to the rules of the family?” the elder asked despite knowing that he was not a match for Luo Jiutian.
The reason he could speak like that was because he had the support of the entire Luo Family. “Scram!” Luo Jiutian replied.
“What… What did you say?” The confused elder stammered. He had initially thought the words weren’t meant for him, but judging from the look on Luo Jiutian’s face, it was obvious that these insulting words had been directed at him.
While the elder was in a difficult predicament, Luo Yunyang scoffed. “The Luo Family is bullsh*t. Like my father even cares? Poor relatives like you who come from afar hope to gain some benefits because of my father’s war emperor position.”
“Given my father’s status, it would have cost almost nothing to give you some benefits, but you obviously tried to take advantage of our kindness. Scram, we have nothing to do with your side of the Luo Family!”
Luo Yunyang’s words left the elder feeling thoroughly embarrassed. He wished he could kill Luo Yunyang right then and there.
“Jiutian, what this wretched being has said…”
“His words are my words. Do you want to leave by yourselves now, or do you want me to escort you out?” Luo Jiutian glanced straight at the elder as he asked this.
The Luo Family bit their teeth and left. However, some other onlookers stared at Luo Yunyang in contempt.
It wasn’t a crime to not be naturally well-endowed and talented, but relying on one’s father was just…
[1] There are two Luos, 洛 and 罗. The Luo in Luo Jiutian’s name is different from the Luo in Luo Yuyang’s name.
