Can't Stand This Lousy Jie Sect Anymore

Chapter 369: He is the Remnants of the Demon Path! (Second update please subscribe)

Yin Mountain, is the tallest mountain range within the Underworld.

It looms solemn and majestic within the depths of the Underworld, emanating a cold and desolate aura.

Yin Mountain reaches into the clouds, its peaks steep and weathered, neighboring the River of Forgetfulness, much like a giant straddling a bloody river.

The trees on the mountain are robust and powerful, their branches as tough as iron, almost completely devoid of life.

The leaves are a dull grey, as though shrouded by an aura of death.

The entire Yin Mountain range is permeated by an atmosphere of absolute stillness, devoid of living beings, with only the souls of the wronged transforming into gusts of chilling wind howling through the valleys.

"Du... Du... Du..."

The rhythmic sound of the wooden fish echoes, accompanied by a vast and majestic chanting of scriptures, spreading in all directions.

"Across myriad Ganges rivers' sands of worlds, in each world manifesting myriad forms, with each form delivering myriad people, leading them to venerate the Three Jewels, forever freeing them from the cycle of birth and death, to the joy of Nirvana..."

Following the source of the grand chanting, one can see halfway up Yin Mountain, there is a bright and warm Buddha's light, radiating in all directions.

A simple palace, like a pearl lost in the vast ocean, sits upon the desolate Yin Mountain.

Countless wronged souls, drawn by the chanting, have their resentment dissipate gradually under the Buddha's light.

Inside this palace, there sits a figure, unmoving and ancient like a fossil.

He, with a face full of compassion, draped in a cerulean kasaya, head crowned with a ruby diadem, hands joined in prayer, is striking the wooden fish with one hand while softly reciting scriptures.

This monk is none other than Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, once the foremost among the Buddhist sect's Bodhisattvas.

Beside the scripture platform before him, an Exotic Beast with the head of a tiger, the horn of a unicorn, ears of a dog, body of a dragon, tail of a lion, and feet of a Qilin, lies prostrate, its eyes tightly shut as if intently listening or perhaps napping.

Above his head, there is a Bright World, unfurling like a scroll, constantly radiating compassionate Buddha's light.

Under the golden Buddha's light, one after another, the wronged souls are relieved of their grievances, showing a smile of liberation on their faces, joining hands in prayer, drifting into the Bright World, becoming the most devout followers of the Western Buddhist Sect.

Suddenly.

Di Ting sprung up, eyes humanized with a look of terror.

It roared twice towards Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

The latter paused his wooden fish striking, his face showing an even deeper compassion.

As he stopped the chanting, the myriad wronged spirits and fierce ghosts attracted by the chanting immediately came to their senses and, howling, dispersed into puffs of black smoke, fleeing in all directions.

As if encountering some great terror.

The whole Yin Mountain became empty in an instant.

"Amitabha Buddha—"

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva chanted the Buddha's name with sorrow for the world and pity for the people.

The next instant, a colorful Shariputra slowly emerged from the Bright World.

This Shariputra radiated dazzling light, as beautiful as a rainbow, filled with a mysterious and solemn atmosphere.

The Shariputra descended slowly to the ground, illuminating everything around it.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva joined his hands in prayer, saying solemnly, "My Buddha is merciful!"

With his words, numerous Buddha Countries immediately appeared within the Bright World.

Each Buddha Country is magnificent and vast, filled with a solemn and harmonious atmosphere.

Within each Buddha Country, countless followers are gathered together.

They wear Lotus Crowns, Vestment robes, holding Prayer Beads, devoutly kneeling and worshipping Buddha.

Buddha's light shines upon myriad nations.

Although a single believer can only offer a small amount of the Power of Faith, when the Power of Faith of countless devotees from myriad Buddha Countries converges, it becomes immensely boundless.

Such a force is so vast it's unimaginable.

This magnificent Power of Faith is being led by Ksitigarbha, crossing through the void of the Bright World, rushing like an endless river, flowing towards that colorful Shariputra.

It is like a river of light pouring into the Shariputra.

The Shariputra radiates dazzlingly, emitting an even more brilliant light.

As the Shariputra absorbs the devoted Power of Faith from innumerable believers, it soon undergoes drastic changes.

Within the endless radiance, the dazzling light released by the Shariputra gradually condenses. Under the watchful eye of Ksitigarbha, the solemn and compassionate figure of a Buddha emerges.

This Buddha appears lean and withered, his visage aged and stern.

He is draped in a Golden Red Kasaya, his head crowned with black spiral-shaped hair whorls, and behind his head floats an orange Qingyun; within the Qingyun, a White Jade Ruler and a Glazed Lamp rise and fall.

Beneath his feet, a twelve-tiered Golden Lotus manifests, radiating brilliant multicolored light from within outward.

This Buddha is none other than Dingguang Tathagata, who was supposed to be reduced to ashes.

He is the honor amongst all Buddhas, the master of the Buddhist Sect.

Ksitigarbha joins his hands together and respectfully bows, saying, "Greetings, Buddha!"

"No need for such formalities," replies Dingguang Tathagata, still somewhat shaken, "If it were not for your early declaration of the Great Vow, dividing and hiding half of my Shariputra within the Pure Land, I truly would have perished under the Six Soul Banner."

Ksitigarbha shakes his head, a compassionate expression as he looks at the expanse of the Bright World above.

Understanding his thoughts, Dingguang Tathagata sighs softly, "Your Great Vow Skill has not achieved Great Success, and reaching this extent is already the limit... You need not blame yourself; you cannot save everyone."

Ksitigarbha nods slightly, looking at him with a hint of concern, "The Six Soul Banner is so powerful, what does the Buddha plan to do next?"

Although he did not personally attend the scene, his Exotic Beast Di Ting could listen to all sounds in the Three Realms, so he was basically clear about the great battle that took place in the Heavenly Court.

He had managed to save Dingguang Tathagata through his prior preparations, but he was not optimistic about the situation of the Buddhist Sect thereafter.

In his view, under the command of the Myriad Immortals Formation, the Six Soul Banner seemed invincible.

Within the Three Realms, no one could withstand its power!

Even if Dingguang Tathagata was still alive, it would be of little use!

However, upon hearing his question, Dingguang Tathagata confidently replies, "Do not worry, by deploying the Six Soul Banner, the Jie Sect is opting for a path of certain death, and that Yu Yuan is even more certain to die!"

Ksitigarbha frowns, unable to see where his confidence stems from.

"I fail to understand; I beseech the Buddha to enlighten me."

Dingguang Tathagata glances at him, seemingly hesitant, but ultimately speaks in a low voice, "Few are privy to this matter; I too heard it from Yuqing Saint.

That Yu Yuan is actually a remnant of the Demon Path. If not for the Tongtian Sect Hierarch's protection, he would have been slain on the spot by the Taoist Ancestor.

Later, out of consideration for Tongtian Sect Hierarch's feelings, the Taoist Ancestor spared his life, only to expel him from the Primordial realm and erase all traces of his existence; only a Primordial Quasi-Saint could remember him."

Ksitigarbha is astonished, speaking incredulously, "Wasn't the Demon Path already extinct? How did he become a remnant of the Demon Path?"

"This is directly from Yuqing Saint's own words; there can be no mistake," asserts Dingguang Tathagata indifferently.

After a pause, he continues solemnly, "The Heavenly Dao is unpredictable, the Great Dao is formless, every deed and thought bears its consequence... Yu Yuan's use of the Six Soul Banner to Curse Kill our Buddhist Sect's Buddhas is also a provocation to the Heavenly Dao!

The Taoist Ancestor will definitely not let him off lightly!

We must simply wait and see."
