Located deep within Tatalia Forest, in the Food House of a secret realm, a dim, yellow light illuminated a dark-haired and dark-eyed young man. At his waist hung a meticulously crafted kitchen tools bag and a tile jar adorned with drawings of primitive people, apparel that had once sparked a trend within the Federation as the Wilderness Chef.
At this moment, the young man walked towards the stone table in front of him with a face full of obsession, his gaze fixed on one of the dishes.
The alluring colors and enchanting aroma intertwined, and the golden sauce emitted a phosphorescent glow that made one's appetite uncontrollable... It seemed as if nobody could resist the delicious dish prepared from the tongue of some unknown creature.
The emaciated man who acted as the host had a strange smile at the corner of his mouth, and his face came up close as he whispered incessantly.
Behind him, the silhouettes of the contestants standing in the shadows—whether they were abnormally-shaped demons or human chefs—all bore the same expression, their heads all turned to the same angle, looking toward where Tang Qi stood.
From the long table at the end of the Food House, where the judges were seated, a continuous murmuring could be heard echoing throughout the stone room.
As Tang Qi was about to touch the dish with his hands, they all seemed to have already foreseen what would happen next: The human chef would resemble a starving vagrant who, picking up a piece of meat, would tear and bite into it desperately, just to stuff the meat into his stomach as quickly as possible.
He might even choke, his eyes bulging and saliva spraying.
And very soon, he would become "one of their own."
While Alfred was thinking this, his gaze suddenly met a pair of eyes emanating golden Light Flames and an intense red.
He stood there stupified, then watched as the tile jar at the youth's waist began to float. Looking inside the jar, he saw a little bit of "soup base" left, made up of half a bowl of thick soup, a piece of broken meat, half an onion, and a small chunk of stem.
He heard Tang Qi muttering, "Still have a half-bowl left, should be enough."
No sooner had he spoken, than Tang Qi rubbed two fingers over the mouth of the jar, as if adding salt and other seasonings. However, what flowed down was an extremely concentrated, gold-like liquid Flames, infused with incredibly explosive power.
Unfortunately, only the controlled Alfred witnessed this scene.
Tang Qi added the ingredients and immediately spoke to the last bit of broth in the jar in an imperative tone: "Already delicious meat soup, thanks to a Chef with extraordinary skills adding secret ingredients, it will receive a new name, insanely hot explosive-level delicious meat soup."
"It will spark a frenzy!"
"Its deliciousness is beyond question!"
Behind Alfred's façade, Tang Qi's seemingly effortless spellcasting was actually tapping into Divine Power.
"To make the 'All Spirits'—one of them being Mesolia—feel no threat, to make Her emerge from Her Concealment, to willingly drink this soup, 'Truth Spell' fueled by Magic Power would hardly take effect. Only Divinity against Divinity could lure Her into this trap."
"I cast Truth Spell with Divinity, enough to deceive a common Weak God for at least ten minutes. Short-lived, but it should be enough."
With just a thought, Tang Qi completed his spellcasting.
Controlled by him, Alfred, with his back to everyone, in a tone not too different from before but with a hint of surprise, announced, "This young contestant has decided to present his gift before tasting the dishes of the judges."
"The 'Golden Thick Soup' from the Extraordinary Inheritance he received, the last remaining portion from the Dark Era."
"Let's take a look at this..."
As if a record were stuck, the speaking Alfred suddenly stopped.
His "kin" had not yet expressed discontent when suddenly, they all stared fixedly at the tile jar with primitive drawings floating in front of Tang Qi.
Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!
The uncontrollable sound of swallowing echoed throughout the Food House.
All eyes were now focused on the jar.
From within, a wisp of golden smoke wafted out as if alive, floating towards everyone's noses. Each person it passed wished nothing more than to inhale the smoke into their nostrils.
Throbbing!
Desire!
At this moment, whether contestants or judges, all developed an uncontrollable desire to possess the source of that fragrance within the jar. Crazy thoughts emerged, willing to pay anything, including their own lives, just to get and consume that broth.
Everyone's breathing became rapid and disordered—a brawl seemed on the verge of breaking out.
Tang Qi, the instigator, looked beyond Alfred at the rest of the people in the hall.
Starting with the closest "contestant"—a half-human, half-pig creature in a clean white chef's uniform with a tall hat and chubby cheeks—now attracted by the aroma of the Golden Thick Soup, this Order Demon chef stuck out his tongue, dripping with thick saliva.
What should have been a "pig tongue" appeared to Tang Qi as half black, half red.
The black was spreading.
That familiar black line, now several times more concentrated, was about to completely transform this demon.
Information Fragments burst in Tang Qi's mind:
[Extraordinary Creatures: Pig Demon.]
[State: Being polluted.]
[Information Fragment One: The Extraordinary Chef is being transformed into a follower by the 'Evil Tongue God Mesolia.' Its original form is a pig demon, and after the transformation is complete, it will undergo a faction change, and its power will be forcibly reshaped.]
[Information Fragment Two: The transformation is 70 percent complete, reversible.]
...
"Hmm, this one can still be saved."
Tang Qi quickly concentrates, then continues to look at the other contestants and judges who are suffering from the same misfortune.
They are also being transformed, all for the same reason.
All the contestants and judges have eaten a dish named "Divine Tongue."
The so-called Divine Tongue has only one ingredient, a sliver of flesh from Mesolia.
Naturally, as mere Extraordinary Creatures, they could not resist the Pollution imbued in the Evil God Blood and Flesh, especially since the Divine Power of this Evil God is inherently linked to "deliciousness."
Without any mishaps, everyone here would be turned into followers of Mesolia.
However, starting from Messer City, wherever Tang Qi appeared, mishaps were bound to happen.
After releasing "Bait" and discerning who could be saved, Tang Qi immediately looks at the tile jar floating above the "Extraordinary Ingredients Mountain," from where the so-called aroma of Golden Thick Soup is approaching its peak.
Tang Qi is well aware that his actions this time are somewhat rash and urgent.
"From entering the Food House and taking out the meat soup to casting Truth Spells on it, I've left many vulnerabilities, but nearly all were unavoidable, as both contestants and judges have been Polluted by Mesolia... Her impatience and her neglect in selection, opting instead to transform all, indicates Mesolia's situation is worse than expected."
"And facing traps with some flaws, both Bolusa and Flora have shown a sort of 'blind confidence,' or perhaps they are powerless to control their own Desires."
"Could the deterioration, or severe atrophy, of the Divine Source have direct consequences for the Divine being?"
"Having lost her kingdom and all her follower Believers, Mesolia, who has only recently awakened, surely is the most vulnerable of All Spirits, teetering on the brink of downfall and Madness. Whether she can recover depends on whether she can feed successfully."
"So even with some flaws in my trap, she would still... "
"Awooo!"
Just as Tang Qi's corresponding thoughts were emerging, suddenly, a strange howl rings out.
But on the judges' seats, a figure wearing a white pleated skirt with blonde hair leaps out. Her movements are swift, making hooking motions like those of a Dog Monster, her arm circling, hooking the tile jar into her grasp.
Then she lightly lands on top of the ingredients mountain, putting the tile jar on her stomach and fiercely guarding it, before raising her head and letting out a low roar at the others who couldn't help but be about to act.
Her voice seems to be a command that others simply can't defy even more than instinct, and all the contestants and judges affected by Tang Qi's "Truth Spell" wail in Pain, collapsing down in utter aggrievement, unable to taste the thick soup.
On the ingredients mountain, the girl is still grinning with a pair of crimson eyes, completely unable to care for the continually flowing drool.
Above her head, a pair of fluffy canine ears twitch slightly.
If he blocked all perception and only used his eyes to look, Tang Qi might even find this "Dog Monster" cute.
But in that moment, when his gaze focused on her.
A supremely intense ghost light Burst forth, and a bundle of Information Fragments surged out.
All information seemed as if veiled in a thin layer of mist to prevent prying, and just as Tang Qi was about to forcefully decipher it, the "dog girl" who initially appeared madly polluted suddenly lets out a pained Roar, covering her head with both paws.
From her mouth, emerges a unique Black Tongue.
The tongue, which should have been all black, was only blackened by a third, and the Pollution showed no signs of spreading.
Just as Tang Qi has a vague idea what's happening, those difficult-to-read Information Fragments, due to this turn of events, immediately become visible to him.
[Extraordinary Creature: Heheluo Demon.]
[State: Being Parasitized.]
[Information Fragment One: The Heheluo Demon is a half-human half-canine Magic creature of the Extraordinary World. They prefer peace and are steadfast members of the Order Camp, enjoying professions such as Foodies and boxers. They are often referred to as "dog girls" in the Mysterious Side.]
[Information Fragment Two: This Heheluo Demon named 'Gor,' due to an Accident, was later parasitized by the 'Evil Tongue God Mesolia.' Since Mesolia did not actively select her, the Parasite process is not going smoothly. If Gor dies, Mesolia will also be dealt a severe blow, and being already on the edge, she will most definitely fall.]
[Information Fragment Three: Their connection is extremely fragile, and if broken, unknown consequences will ensue, with a certain chance that it may cause Mesolia to manifest her 'True God's Body' directly, resulting in catastrophic Pollution of the entire Apalis City Circle.]
...
As that third Information Fragment entered his view, Tang Qi's eyes twitch instantly and his expression greatly changes.
He watches as the Heheluo Demon, who has somehow regained the ability to move, slowly puts down the tile jar and looking down upon everyone, lets out a burp.
"Burp!"
The aftertaste of this burp had not yet subsided, the true flavor embedded in the "Golden Thick Soup," like a volcano erupting in full force, explodes from the "dog girl's" stomach.
