Lord of Mysterious Wizard

Chapter 610: Don't Talk to Strangers

Tang Qi stepped out from the painting, and before he could clearly discern his surroundings, he saw a green-haired, non-mainstream girl with a besotted look on her face approaching him, her slightly plump hands with black-painted nails reaching towards him.

The Dream Kingdom has "entrances and exits" scattered throughout the Federation, most of which are quirky, bizarre oil paintings. After becoming Sovereign, Tang Qi had closed most of these entrances. To reach Eagle's Nest City as quickly as possible, he reopened the entrance closest to Rose's home.

He had not expected the scene before him, and feeling speechless, Tang Qi used a "Red" spell to control several non-mainstream, poor artists including the green-haired girl, erasing the memories from their minds.

Although he had temporarily suppressed and even partly abandoned the path of the "Melter Wizard," the Molten Furnace Eye was still very practical in many situations.

With a thought, he closed the entrance again and swiftly moved past the group, hurrying out of the museum toward the Lovec District.

At the same time, urgent intelligence surfaced in his mind.

On his way to Eagle's Nest City, Tang Qi directly requested information from the "Holy Eagle Nest Society."

Although he had resigned from his position as the principal of Merada Special Education School, to his surprise, the Holy Eagle Nest Society had not expelled him from the organization. It was one thing for other members to be unaware of his identity, but curiously, even though some people in the Church knew who he was, no proposal to expel him had been initiated.

Moreover, they did not hold much animosity toward him.

At least Tang Qi did not feel any malice from John Wesley, the "High-level Deacon" whose role was the regional archbishop of Secret Phoenix District and had recommended Tang Qi for membership. Naturally, he knew of Tang Qi's existence and was even more aware of the blasphemous acts he had committed.

Even though Tang Qi's actions, to some extent, helped the "Bright Church," he also managed to betray the Lord of Light along the way.

Through John Wesley's attitude, Tang Qi could sense the Church's current mindset.

Overtly, they issued a warrant for him, but it was just for show; they likely intended to ignore him.

Of course, Tang Qi was also aware that there must be "radical factions" within the Church who harbored strong malice toward him, and he still needed to remain vigilant.

As for the Rafael, the "Thorns Reincarnation," He had left the real world and entered the "Mysterious" to help His former comrades recover.

His existence caused the Church to split completely, with all of the Lord of Thorns' believers departing. However, it seemed that they did not adopt the developmental model of the "Bright Church" or other denominations but transformed into an orderly, good camp, and extraordinary organization.

In response to this, the Church had become somewhat tolerant, at least allowing the statue of the Lord of Thorns to be transferred and reassembled in Eagle's Nest City.

But all of these were temporary measures; perhaps when the Lord of Light fully recovered, the situation would fall apart again?

"Something significant has indeed occurred on the mysterious side of Eagle's Nest City, involving the highest intelligence in the Federation, Mrs. Loring, who is seen as a leading candidate for the title of 'Great Polymath.' Her long-missing husband, Howard Roland, the last heir of the Loring Family, has suddenly returned from the 'Mysterious.'"

"According to Howard, he disappeared on the night of the Spiritual Tide Return and was wrapped up in a special space. There, a great being bestowed him with extensive knowledge, and after digesting that knowledge, he returned to reality."

"Subsequent developments validated his claims."

"Howard Roland passed examinations by various organizations and demonstrated insights beyond his time. Not only does he possess vast knowledge, but he also exhibits keen insights that humans cannot possess. In a short time, the services he provided to various organizations surpassed those of his wife, Mrs. Loring."

"For this reason, Mrs. Loring decided to resign from her position and became a full-time wife, reportedly to compensate for the time her husband had lost."

...

"A husband who disappeared, returning with a transformative adventure, surpassing his genius wife... this is almost like some third-rate romance adventure novel?"

By the time Tang Qi finished reviewing the intelligence, he had already arrived in the Lovec District, lurking in the shadows of a tidy street. Illuminated by streetlights, Tang Qi saw a house with a literary style, number "Lovcek 426."

His original intention had been to break into the house and rescue Mrs. Loring.

Although Rose's "distress signal" had not been fully articulated, Tang Qi could be sure of one thing: Rose was afraid of her returning husband.

But in this moment, Tang Qi had to stop.

Because as soon as he laid eyes on "Lovcek 426," an intense sign of danger erupted within his perception. The pre-dawn sky, which should gradually be brightening around four or five in the morning, suddenly grew darker, permeated by a cold, strange aura.

The source of the aura was the house.

The entire neighborhood seemed to become a "monster's" domain, with Lovcek 426 as its nest.

As Tang Qi sensed this, shadows writhed beside him, and the bodies of the Night Beast and Elf materialized, each conveying a sense of alarm and danger.

At the same time, a special Information Fragment exploded in his mind.

"An unknown force field covered..."

Surprise flashed across Tang Qi's face.

"Force field?"

Almost immediately, Tang Qi thought of the previously encountered "Pla Field," a technology belonging to a War Race from the Exotic Realm called "the Pla Clan."

The force field is strong enough to restrain most of the Federation's mysterious side's high-end combat power.

Now, Tang Qi has spotted a completely different kind of force field atop a large house, and the power it possesses appears even more astonishing to him.

"This area is covered by an unknown force field, which has created a special state that is both separated from and connected to the real world."

"The force field is controlled by an 'unknown life form' from the Exotic Realm, and any attempt to touch or damage the force field will be sensed by this life form."

"The force field has a kind of automatic operation program that can defend and counterattack."

"The force field can isolate almost all means of communication and cause internal Curios without proper authorization to fail."

"The force field's Transcendent Level is incredibly high, far surpassing the 'Demigod Level', and it can prevent most Divine beings from spying."

One after another, these Information Fragments render Tang Qi silent, his expression growing increasingly solemn.

Because Rose called for help, Tang Qi has escalated this incident to a high level of importance, but now, it seems to be much more serious.

"According to the intel, the probability of Rose being safe or in danger is split. If there was no force field, the most logical action would be to break in directly and rescue Rose."

"But now, if I were to forcefully enter, I would immediately trigger an alarm. No matter the combat strength of the Exotic Realm Life Form pretending to be Rose's husband, it would pose a severe threat to Rose. I can't ignore the difference in time."

"Yet this force field almost completely eliminates any means of infiltration. Night Beast's Shadow Magic won't work, the Elf's Mind Communication is no good, and neither my Illusion Spell nor my Transformation Spell can bypass the force field..."

As Tang Qi ponders, inside the stately house at Lovec 426.

In the study, immersed in "Meditation," Rose seems to hear something and abruptly opens her eyes.

She hears footsteps, approaching from afar, accompanied by the sound of something heavy scraping across the floor.

The rhythmic thumping nearly stops her heart, as a terrifying premonition, like poisonous vines, grows uncontrollably and wildly.

With some stiffness, she turns her head, staring at the door filled with red spiral patterns, a foreboding omen flashing in her eyes, her lips pursed in a curve, maintaining strength, calmness, and a faint, barely noticeable sorrow.

"Great Sage above mystery, omniscient Ancient Observer, your disciple beseeches you..."

"Bang!"

Rose's whispered prayer had barely begun when a sudden loud noise erupted.

The precious study door was smashed through by an "Alien Object," and amidst the scattering thin wood shavings, a blinding silver-white light appeared. It was the blade of an axe, slowly retracting with a teeth-gritting noise.

Through the gap cleaved by a Giant Force, through a doorway, two pairs of eyes meet.

Rose, she sees her "husband."

Her once suave, charming husband now dons a messy, dirty nightgown. He seems to have not slept the whole night, his normally tidy hair utterly disheveled, his face haggard, his expression twisted with Anger, with dark eyes full of entangled negative emotions.

Jealousy, Anger, Guilt, Murderous Intent…it's as though different Flames are mixing together, burning madly.

Within the flames, a blurry scene emerges:

In the elegant study, a dignified and beautiful mature woman is writing at her desk by the window. As the camera moves, the quivering quill and the words gradually appearing on the paper all come into view—from the first sentence to the last "my husband has returned."

"He has found out, he can see everything I do."

Waves of shock begin to surge in Rose's mind.

But soon enough, a life-threatening, chilling premonition forces her to remain calm in the face of the "husband" outside the door.

"Bang! Bang! Boom!"

Three chops, and just three chops fracture and topple the exceedingly tough doorway.

The handsome but deranged "gentleman," who in recent times has exhibited an unparalleled wealth of knowledge to the amazement of many organizations, the incredibly charming "Mysterious Advisor," the last heir of the Loring Family, Howard Loring.

He now seems to be in extreme Anger, but he is desperately trying to contain it.

Dragging a gleaming axe, its blade seemingly freshly sharpened, he steps over the wood shavings and strides toward his wife. His puffy eyes are bloodshot as he reaches out a hand, seemingly intent on seizing his wife's throat. All the while, he bellows furiously at Rose:

"Rose Madeline, how many times have I told you."

"Never, ever speak to any stranger, especially any man."

"Should you break this rule, I will...kill! You!"
