Lord of Mysterious Wizard

Chapter 605: Ceremony

Peace under the beautiful starry sky, Tang Qi held in his hands the mudboard that he had kneaded, which emitted a soft and sacred golden light and was engraved with dozens of "covenants."

If Mrs. Loring were here, she could recognize at this moment that the handwriting on the mudboard belonged to her "pen pal," the Principal of Merada Special Education School.

Because of that drop of "Holy Blood," and the new covenant proposed by Tang Qi, the mudboard had become a high-level Curio.

Or rather, a Holy Relic.

Innocent humans, or the mistaken Lancelot and other Believers, or the "audience members" who had not yet acted but had long harbored numerous blasphemous thoughts, as long as their gazes fell on the mudboard, they would receive the message of "absolution."

This included Jason as well.

This half-man, half-goat Demon Hunter was staring wide-eyed with his Tiros' Eyes, his gaze swept between Tang Qi, Rafael, and the mudboard in astonishment, while he muttered:

"I knew it, Tang Qi is a scholar, Rafael is also a scholar, the two of you together, even dead people could be deceived back to life, it's just a pity for the old Lord of Light, sleeping in a daze, sold without knowing anything."

"But this is good, with this Absolution Certificate, the Lord of Light won't make it difficult for the Tilosi Clan, my old lady probably won't hold me accountable for stealing this old piano either."

"Phew, indeed I feel a lot more relaxed all of a sudden."

While Jason was muttering, Tang Qi and Rafael exchanged a glance, and the corners of their mouths each hooked into a bitter smile.

The mudboard that had transformed into a "Holy Relic" was indeed an Absolution Certificate.

But on it, the names of Tang Qi and Rafael were absent.

The reason was simple; besides Rafael, as the "Thorns," emitting an aura that would cause the "Light" to go berserk, there was also the fact that their current positions didn't allow them to sign a contract with the Light.

If Tang Qi were to add himself and Rafael as well, it would likely trigger an immediate reactive response from the "Light," perhaps provoking it into madness, or even stirring it to awaken on the spot, and at the same time, all the "covenants" inside would be nullified.

A contract between Divine beings would not be made so carelessly.

However, in reality, neither of them had any intention of adding their own names.

The reborn "Thorns," now Rafael, had completely severed ties with the Lord of Light. For Rafael, the Light was just like any other existence in this world. Rafael neither hated nor got angry with it.

As for Tang Qi, after this battle, he had gained insight into the power he currently possessed and vaguely felt some indistinct premonitions deep inside his heart, which didn't contain much information but didn't hinder him from making some decisions.

In the end, although he hadn't yet thought about what to do when the Light Festival comes and the Light awakens, how to handle the relationship with the Sovereign being from the Order Camp.

But both of them were unwilling to obtain the "Light's" forgiveness through deceit.

Most crucially, in their view, they did not need forgiveness.

The "fresh blood" used for the covenant did not belong to Tang Qi, but was collected by Rafael using the Holy Thorns from the bodies of believers.

As Tang Qi admired the "Holy Mud Tablet," he suddenly felt a strange atmosphere beginning to pervade.

Rafael and Jason felt it too.

All three looked up and saw a group of Bright believers with complex expressions and fervent gazes staring at the mudboard in Tang Qi's hands.

At the lead was the Undying Heroic Spirit "Lancelot."

At the same time, in the surrounding starry sky, brilliant "starlight" was twinkling and approaching.

Each streak of starlight represented a big shot from the Mysterious Side, at least of Legendary Level, or infinitely close to it.

Most of them came with good intentions, but there were also malevolent ones.

Those sources of malevolence were probably from organizations like Horror Devourer, Dream God Palace, Mam Sanatorium...

Although Tang Qi and Rafael had just accomplished an unprecedented, legendary feat, deceiving the Lord of Light, and obtaining Absolution Certificates for those who had blasphemed against this Master.

But everyone could see that this was not a display of true strength.

Deception is a cunning means, an idea even recognized by humans in the real world.

They might jointly snatch the Holy Mud Tablet!

Or, launch an attack on Rafael!

Both Jason and I could be targets!

Feeling the hidden "malevolence," Tang Qi turned his head to meet Rafael's gaze, nodding his head as they both made their move.

After the confrontation with the Lord of Light, the two of them didn't have much power left.

But to handle the current situation, it was not too problematic.

Rafael took action first. With just a glance at the rapidly approaching starlight, Holy Thorns spread across the starry sky, countless symbols representing "Truth" were born, and buds bloomed throughout, an invisible Great Power made this space closed off.

The "big shots" that teleported over were repelled by this power; they could unleash attacks and break the seal, but without acting collectively, just a few individuals attempting this would only attract the Counterattack of the Holy Thorns.

Tang Qi chose as his "opponents," Lancelot and the others.

As devout Bright believers, they naturally had an unparalleled desire for the "Holy Mud Tablet" in Tang Qi's hands.

After all, that mudboard contained a new covenant set with the "Light" by the people of this world.
