"It's as if the Holy Prophet Pileus is reaching out across time and space, initiating a trade with me. He foresaw my need for the power of the Stone Slabs, and my existence could at some point aid the awakening of the Lord of Thorns?"
This thought emerged, and Tang Qi immediately asked himself.
Would he refuse?
The answer came forth at once.
It would be difficult for him to refuse, for from the moment the first Information Fragment seeped out of the "Thorn Codex", it was exactly what Tang Qi needed the most.
Within the stone slab before him lies a truth, a pure essence of "Thorns Divinity".
This Divinity, represents Order and Justice.
For Tang Qi's "Dream Kingdom", it is precisely a tremendous boost.
He does not need to devour that divinity, merely use the "Book of Nothingness" to extract the power of Order from it. Once successful, the "Divine Source" that is on the verge of going berserk due to Ralph's frolic, shall immediately undergo a transformation.
By then, Tang Qi would no longer need to worry that every meditation session could be a potentially fatal adventure for him.
By using the Book of Nothingness, there's also no concern for an outbreak of Pollution at any moment.
Tang Qi stood before the codex, with extremely complicated thoughts flashing through his mind. He searched for reasons to reject it, but in the end, all were declared invalid.
Only one reason led Tang Qi to accept the codex.
"If I am to step onto the so-called 'end point' of Divinity, my kingdom must possess Order!"
As Tang Qi calmly uttered this phrase, the Book of Nothingness materialized in front of him.
Its cover reflected the universe, the eye symbolizing Knowledge and Power blinked, and a dazzling "Black Hole" emerged, inching towards the Thorn Codex to devour it slowly.
The codex seemed to have no defense taboos.
It simply released the aura of Order and Justice, along with the dazzling Radiance, slowly entering the Dream Kingdom.
The Book of Nothingness, those growing "Chaos Mushrooms" on its rotten spots, seemed to face annihilation, trembling wildly and ejecting terrifying spores in an attempt to stop the Thorn Codex from approaching.
But their resistance was destined to be in vain.
When the codex fully merged into the Dream Kingdom, when that faint yet immensely tenacious "Order" Divinity turned into an intangible ripple that filled the entire kingdom.
An extremely subtle, yet essence-altering sensation, was perceived by Tang Qi.
"The Pollution and Fallen of the Dream Kingdom is delayed once more!"
Feedback appeared immediately, and a smile involuntarily curved on Tang Qi's lips.
He walked out of his room while his thoughts continued unabated.
"Owning such a Holy Relic, the Thorn Codex, yet the two Saints did not hand it over to the Church, but sought me out, an outsider, for a trade... This might have to do with Sims having a poor relationship with the Church, but perhaps that's not the main reason."
"Especially involving the Lord of Thorns, there might be unimaginable secrets hidden within."
"This trade, although I have already taken advantage of it, waiting around is clearly not my style."
"Is Martin Sims still alive? Insufficient information to judge, though from the Second Rotten Head surviving the Dark Era, one can guess that a stronger Holy Confessor has no reason to fall... but on the Mysterious Side everything is possible, besides even if fallen, one can leave behind a Divine Avatar and thought projections."
"Whether it is the Lord of Thorns, or the Rotten Head, or the so-called Key, all are related to the Great Catastrophe, it seems I have a challenging new subject at hand."
...
Outside the Isolation Zone, under the glow of the White Lighthouse, Tang Qi maintained a calm demeanor, handing over "Ayisha" whom he held in his arms, along with Dennis who had adjusted to his own body, to the Witch in charge of taking care of the children's lives.
When the Witch took the two children away, Tang Qi's body flickered, and in an instant, he was back on the fourth floor of the Library Tower.
He was not in a rush to speed up the extraction of the "Order Power" from the "Thorn Codex", as the Dream Kingdom needed to gradually adapt.
Nor was he impatient to gather books related to the "Great Catastrophe" and the "Lord of Thorns" to study this newly confirmed subject.
Instead, he first entered a normal Meditation State to recover his depleted energy and Magic Power.
About an hour later, Tang Qi awoke.
He got up, called out to the Vilnas Fairy working part-time as the "Library Administrator", intending to go find books.
The Magic Doorbell rang, and the Night Beast, who had nothing else to do, quickly opened the door.
Eva, clad in a black witch robe, carried a large stack of newspapers, quite a few letters, and some other things.
It wasn't even necessary to look to guess the content of those newspapers.
Tang Qi cast a puzzled look at Eva, this "War Witch," who now was the de facto principal, supposedly swamped with all sorts of affairs.
Their eyes met, and instantly, Eva grasped the meaning behind Tang Qi's gaze.
She walked straight over, first setting down the newspapers, indicating for Tang Qi to take a look.
Unsurprisingly, Tang Qi's name once again blasted the headlines of every major Extraordinary newspaper, including "Mysterious Daily·Federation Chapter," the largest circulation paper, all giving Tang Qi a great deal of space.
The content and headlines were as exaggerated as one might imagine.
The first showdown of the East Federation Six New Stars!
The report highlighted Tang Qi's strength and Neil Stinson's tragic plight.
Every Transcendent reporter marveled at the "Transformation Spell" unleashed by Tang Qi, the unbelievable magic power and effect, which directly skyrocketed his fame.
To some extent, his reputation had not only completely detached from Secret Phoenix City but had also begun to spread beyond the Federation.
Of course, every transmission was very unfavorable for "Neil Stinson."
Many Transcendents would come to know:
The once-renowned Ancient Magic Inheritor, capable of eloping with a female demon, Neil Stinson, was turned into a donkey by a spell cast by Tang Qi, also one of the East Federation Six New Stars, and the principal of the Witch School.
The most tragic part was in some of the "gossip news."
The transaction between Tang Qi and Nainarani was blatantly presented, and a lot of gossip-fond Transcendents had already started debating a very philosophical question.
Stinson was turned into a donkey, and Nainarani received the "Sadomasochistic Whip."
Among the two, who had their own "gains," who would have a more wonderful love experience?
Or maybe, both would.
The surge in fame brought some substantial changes.
At least at the level of the entire Federation, many Transcendents and organizations began to recognize that Tang Qi was indeed the top powerhouse of Secret Phoenix City, likely above the ranks of the Ancient Castle Director William O'Neil, and the regional archbishop.
As Tang Qi frowned and put down the newspaper, Eva handed him a pile of letters and various invitations.
These were invitations from various organizations and scholars across the Federation aimed at Tang Qi personally, but they also incidentally mentioned the "Merada Special Education School."
These piqued Tang Qi's interest.
With the intensifying return of the Spiritual Tide, inside the Federation, apart from the sprout of Transcendents, a large number of once-sealed Mysterious Organizations were also reviving, and aside from the old organizations, some new and powerful ones emerged.
Their invitations were mostly for the purpose of exchange.
There were also some organizations with a similar nature to the "Witch School," hoping to form alliances to have students learn from each other.
As the principal, Tang Qi surely needed to review these invitations.
In addition to that, were letters from "scholars" and "polymaths."
"Hmm?"
The signature on the top letter immediately piqued Tang Qi's interest.
"Mrs. Loring!"
Memories corresponding to that name surfaced in Tang Qi's mind.
At that moment, Eva's voice came.
"Mrs. Loring is a scholar worthy of respect. This letter was entrusted to Selma to deliver to you. I didn't expect Mr. Principal to actually receive a letter from Mrs. Loring herself, asking for advice; not even Divine Merada has achieved this."
While tearing open the letter, Tang Qi couldn't help but glance at Eva.
What's with that fangirl tone of yours?
If it weren't for the last sentence, it wouldn't even be evident that you're subtly praising one and belittling another, poor Esmeralda.
