All in Charisma (A LitRPG/Isekai Adventure)

221. Talemaker

Within moments, the white faded, revealing what could best be described as a heavenly realm. Endless blue sky and clouds stretched in all directions. Justin stood on a solid white platform that seemed cast from radiance itself.

On the periphery of this circular platform stood six pedestals, each ornately carved with geometric designs. Four were empty, one held a sunny yellow orb, and the one next to it held a rainbow orb.

Justin realized these were his two cores.

More than that, a single line of light shot from each core, connecting at a central point above his head. At that intersection hovered an even brighter orb—prismatic and resplendent, with whorls of sunshine that bespoke the mixture of both his current cores.

In his hands, Justin still held the Prismatic Core from Reginald. But for a moment, all he could do was stand and gawk. What was this place? Why was he here?

[You stand within the Aether Realm itself. Your Prismatic Nature grants you this boon. Now decide.]

There was no question about what he had to decide. The Voice wanted him to place the Prismatic Core personally. Perhaps the core needed to be replaced manually—Justin wasn't sure.

But his gaze drifted to the empty pedestal next to his Merchant Core. What if he tried to place Reginald's core there instead?

Curiosity got the better of him. He reached out—

A force like a physical wall slammed into him, sending him stumbling backward.

[You must be Level 40 to gain your Ascendant Class. Your current level is: 21.]

Justin rubbed his chest where the impact had hit. "Worth a shot."

He returned to his Merchant Core. What would happen if he changed his mind? Could he even change his mind at this point?

For some reason, he doubted it. He had already confirmed his choice, so the only way to leave this place was by replacing the Merchant Core.

"Here goes nothing."

He placed his new Prismatic Core against the yellow orb. It subsumed the Merchant Core completely, the yellow light transforming into another rainbow stream. The central orb above his head became even more vibrant, pulsing with power.

Justin felt a surge of power and warmth flood through him. He stood there for what felt like an eternity, though he sensed that he existed outside of time itself. When he returned to Eyrth, not a moment would have passed.

[Core Identified: Reginald de Coucy's Core. Basic Class: Warrior. Focus: Knight. Advanced Prismatic Class: Royal Herald. Justin waited, his heart pounding, before the Voice returned.

[Analyzing current Prismatic Core owner: Justin Talemaker of Enid, Oklahoma, Planet Earth. Socialite Prismatic Core. Class Focus: Gentleman. The wait felt even longer this time. Justin's mind raced. What would he become? What would he lose?

[New Prismatic Classes Available! You will retain all previous skills and boons, including your Entrepreneur abilities and their interactions with all Socialite skills and boons. All classes presented are unique to you, your history, your attributes, and to Reginald the Bold. Choose wisely!]

Three options materialized before him, each represented by a shimmering projection.

[Unique Prismatic Class: Prismatic Cavalier]

Cavalier is a rare Advanced Class, typically offered to Knights of exceptional bravery, courage, and honor, particularly skilled in mounted combat. Your bond with Atlas and your dual Prismatic Nature grant you access to an upgraded, Prismatic version of the Cavalier.]

Note: This class can be hidden in your interface. To others, it will appear as the standard Cavalier class.

Weapon Specializations: Canes, Rapiers, Swords, Lances

Class Skill:Cavalier's Charge. Execute a devastating charge while mounted, doubling your Power attribute for your next attack. Your mount shares this bonus. While charging, you cannot be staggered, and all damage taken is reduced by 50%. The Power boost remains active until your next attack lands or combat ends. (Cooldown: 5 minutes)

Class Boon:Cavalier's Glory. Your Charisma attribute provides percentage-based resistance to your entire party against Fear, Intimidation, and Stun effects. Resistance equals your Charisma attribute as a percentage.

Aspect: Advantage. Advantage is earned by performing heroic acts.

Immediately, one of Justin's chief fears was alleviated. He wasn't going to lose anything. He would retain the Entrepreneur abilities he had unlocked, along with the bonus buffs his Entrepreneur class had granted to his previous Socialite abilities. This honored his past choices while allowing him to step into a bold new future.

As for this class—he really liked it. The skill was precisely what he needed to handle high-level threats, perfectly complementing the compounding damage of his Sapphire Aegis combo. At this point, the combination would be so strong that nothing could stop him from power-leveling, assuming he survived long enough to reach the bosses of high-level Vaults.

Atlas would help him close the distance. Sapphire Aegis would protect them both. The Power boost persisted until his next attack landed—there was no time limit. The damage reduction was a bonus, but the key benefit was immunity to Stagger. Nothing could halt his momentum.

The Class Boon was also significant. With his high Charisma—at 75 without Bardic Inspiration—this translated to 75% resistance for the entire party against three devastating status conditions. He was just a few levels away from reaching 100 Charisma. At that point, his entire party would enjoy full immunity, allowing them to focus on fighting without worrying about escaping dangerous status effects.

Now for the cons, as he saw them. The combo was so perfect it might lead to overconfidence. If he used Cavalier's Charge, he had to ensure he landed that hit. Justin had managed it against Belshar because the Lich was confined to the throne room and stunned by Poison Barb. Without that stun, any high-level enemy could easily evade him. He'd need to rely on other party members to distract enemies while he positioned for the strike.

That said, even that felt like a stretch. The combo was busted, and it was ideal for the road ahead—assuming his goal was to confront high-level threats like Valdrik or power-level in red-tier Vaults.

But Cavalier wasn't the only option. He read the next projection:

[Unique Prismatic Class: Prismatic Gentleman Knight]

Gentleman Knight is an exceptionally rare Advanced Class that combines the refinement of the Gentleman Focus with the martial prowess of a Knight. Born from your Socialite heritage and Reginald's knightly legacy, this class transforms social grace into combat advantage. True power lies not in brute force, but in perfect form, impeccable timing, and, above all, honor.

Note: This class can be hidden in your interface. To others, it will appear as the standard Gentleman Knight class, at your discretion.

Weapon Specializations: Canes, Rapiers, Swords, Shields

Class Skill:For Honor and Glory. For fifteen seconds, your base Charisma is added to your Coordination attribute. (Cooldown: 10 minutes)

Class Boon:Knightly Riposte. After successfully dodging or parrying an attack, immediately counter with a riposte that deals double damage. This boon can trigger every thirty seconds. If the riposte kills your target, the cooldown refreshes instantly.

Aspect: Advantage

Justin really liked this class; it was the perfect culmination of the dodge-tank role he had embraced before his Entrepreneur days. This class took it to an absurd extreme.

For Honor and Glory meant that Justin would be almost impossible to hit—at least for fifteen seconds. His base Charisma was currently 57. This meant his Coordination would soar during the buff, making him practically untouchable.

Additionally, he had other ways to guarantee dodges: Gentleman's Sidestep, Gentleman's Rebuff, and Upper Hand via Advantages.

Knightly Riposte felt like a significant upgrade from the Duelist Focus he had been offered long ago. With double damage and the ability to trigger every thirty seconds—or even more often if the riposte killed an enemy—it was a clear improvement.

Combined with For Honor and Glory, it was devastating. Justin could already imagine it: dodge, kill, dodge, kill, dodge, kill, in an infinite loop. With Gentleman's Sidestep and his inherent dodge abilities, he simply could not be hit... at least, not easily.

The real genius was how it worked with Elegance in Motion, which greatly boosted evasion. He could build up Advantages while dealing massive damage through effective counters. It was less about a single devastating strike and more about sustained, elegant combat—a deadly dance where he was always one step ahead.

The downside? It was reactive rather than proactive. He needed to be attacked to use the boon, which gave him less control than Cavalier's Charge. It also didn't offer the same team utility—no party-wide status resistance, no mount synergy with Atlas. This was a duelist's class, designed for one-on-one combat, dealing steady damage to the main threat while the party provided support.

The strategy was clear: the main threat would focus on Justin, becoming enraged by his taunts and dodges, while Justin dealt his own steady damage, with Sapphire Aegis held in reserve for the final knockout blow.

Still, the elegance of it appealed to him. If anything, it was much more flexible. Perhaps on paper, Prismatic Cavalier was stronger, but it was limited to being mounted on Atlas. What about situations where he couldn't be mounted, such as in confined quarters? Gentleman Knight would excel in those scenarios.

But there was still one more option. Justin turned to the third projection:

[Unique Prismatic Class: Living Legend]

The Living Legend Class exists at the intersection of reality and story. Your deeds become tales told in taverns, epics sung by bards, and legends whispered by children. As your reputation grows and stories of your exploits spread across the Aetherion, you draw power from the collective belief of those who speak your name. You are not merely a hero—you are becoming a myth made flesh.

Note: This class cannot be hidden in your interface. Your legendary status is visible to all who can perceive it.

Weapon Specializations: Canes, swords, any weapon tied to your legendary exploits

Class Skill: Legendary Moment. Once per day, you may invoke a "Legendary Moment" before undertaking an action. If you succeed against overwhelming odds, this inspires onlookers to spread the tale of your deeds, scaling with Charisma. The more witnesses present and the greater the odds overcome, the better this skill works. Legendary Moments can only be attempted when witnesses are present and against significant challenges. (Cooldown: 24 hours)

Class Boon:The Legend Grows. You can now accumulate Legendary Titles as your reputation spreads. Each boon is unique and scales in power with your overall legend.

Legendary Titles are earned when witnesses retell the story of your brave deeds: completing quests, performing heroic acts, clearing powerful Vaults, having your exploits recounted by bards and storytellers, inspiring others through your example, fulfilling prophecies or epic narratives, and defeating enemies far above your level.

Titles may be revoked due to public failures witnessed by many, acts of cowardice that contradict your legend, betrayal of your established heroic nature, breaking oaths or promises publicly.

Critical: For your legend to grow, you must not only perform heroic deeds—those deeds must be witnessed, retold, and spread. Private victories build no legends. You must take credit for your accomplishments and ensure others speak your name.

Aspect: Advantage

Current Legends Formed: 4

Legend 1: The Tomb of King Alaric: "He ventured into cursed darkness where others feared to tread and emerged victorious over the ancient dead, cleansing the tomb of our beloved king."

Tale spread by: Brother Eamon of Highcliff, High Cleric Theophilus of Highcliff

Current Reach: Local (Highcliff region). Potential Growth: Regional Tale

Legend 2: The Case of the Missing Moonflower: "When the sacred Moonflower was stolen by the treacherous Zogmar, the Gentleman found both justice and the flower, saving the life of Princess Nyrissa."

Tale spread by: Queen Grizshara, Lady Glamshara, and other members of the Blackfang Goblin Tribe

Current Reach: Local (Drakendir region). Potential Growth: Regional Tale

Legend 3: The Vault of the Sapphire Star:" On the island of Nithral, he claimed the Sapphire Star, avenged the death of Ryak the Younger, slew two ice drakes, and accomplished what many of our people could not. The name Talemaker will be spoken around the fires of the Iceborne for generations to come."

Tale spread by: Tribesman Ryak of the Yarith Iceborne

Current Reach: Local (Land's End region). Potential Growth: Regional Tale

Legend 4: The Pyrosphinx of Zanthera: "He stood against the fiery guardian of the World Gate and emerged triumphant, saving the Fyrspawn stranded on Eyrth."

Tale spread by: Emberlyn of the Charr Fyrspawn

Current Reach: Regional (Charr region). Potential Growth: Continental Tale

[Upon adopting this class, you will immediately gain these four Legendary Titles.]

[Warning: Others with advanced scrying will see your class and may seek to challenge you before your legend grows too powerful.]

Justin stared at the projection, his mind racing.

Four Legendary Titles. Four stories already spreading about him across Eyrth.

Stories with the potential to become even more powerful over time, especially if he kept feeding them.

As for what they would actually give him, that would only become apparent once he took the class.

The implications were staggering. These were just the legends that had naturally formed without his effort. Considering all the other heroic deeds he had kept secret, the potential for this class was astronomical.

Banishing Belshar alone would likely generate another legend once the Queen learned of what had happened. Wielding two Prismatic Cores could become another, though he'd have to decide whether to share that information publicly.

Each legend could become its own source of permanent power.

But the warning at the end sent a chill through him. Anyone with advanced scrying would see this unique class—something unprecedented in the Aetherion. It was possible that a few individuals might have gained the Entrepreneur class through obscure means, completing some highly specific class trial, a concept he still didn't grasp. That could be dismissed as a rare system reward.

But Living Legend? There was no hiding this. By its nature, the class demanded visibility. It meant no longer maintaining a low profile. It meant painting a target on his back that would never fade.

It was something that gave unlimited power scaling. Every legend he built would make him stronger forever—unless he ruined his reputation with failure.

The risk was real. One public act of cowardice, one broken promise witnessed by crowds, one legendary failure, and he risked losing power. The legend could unravel completely if he wasn't careful.

But then again, what if he became this world's equivalent of a superhero? Even if he retired one day, people would continue telling stories about him. He'd keep the titles in that case, though some minor stories might fade.

This class meant he wouldn't need to wait until Level 40 to become a force of nature. His legend could grow faster than his level, allowing him to punch above his weight class—something he'd apparently already been doing.

The class was essentially telling him: You're already doing this. You're building these legends. Now make it official. Make it real. Make it power.

But as with the others, Justin had to consider the drawbacks.

First, he didn't know how powerful the Legendary Titles could be. It would probably be something truly unique to him, or perhaps to the legend itself. It suggested that the more popular the legend, the greater the power conferred.

In contrast, the other two options offered the reassurance of knowing exactly what he was getting into, with no risk of losing anything.

Justin looked at the other three options one final time.

Prismatic Cavalier offered devastating mounted charges and team protection. Safe. Powerful.

Gentleman Knight promised untouchable grace and perfect defense. Elegant. Proven.

Both were strong. Both built on what he already knew.

But Living Legend... his heart raced just reading it. This was a gamble on himself. A bet that he could keep being the person who charged at impossible enemies, who stood between innocents and darkness.

It was perfect.

It was terrifying.

It was a class that demanded he become the hero he had been reluctantly playing at.

And his surname—Talemaker. Damn, the irony of that wasn't lost on him. If he chose this class, he would literally be making tales, creating stories that became power.

A strange surname that no one else shared, even in his own world, and one for which he was often made fun of as a kid, would become his greatest strength—his secret weapon.

He laughed—a single, disbelieving sound. Had the System known? Had the Creator planned this from the moment Justin arrived in this world with that surname? Was everything—every choice, every quest, every impossible victory—leading to this moment?

"You son of a bitch," he whispered, unsure if he was cursing fate or thanking it.

Justin stared at the Living Legend projection.

Reginald's final words echoed in his mind: "Not the last."

Justin smiled.

"I choose Living Legend."

The Aether realm exploded with light. All three projections dissolved into streams of prismatic energy that spiraled upward, converging on the core above his head. The two rainbow orbs on their pedestals pulsed in perfect synchronization, their light growing brighter until Justin had to shield his eyes.

Four more empty slots. What if he found four more Prismatic Cores? Did he dare dream of that kind of power?

The Voice spoke, carrying a weight that made the air vibrate:

[UNIQUE ADVANCED PRISMATIC CLASS CONFIRMED: LIVING LEGEND]

[Integrating Socialite Foundation... Complete.]

[Integrating Knight Heritage... Complete.]

[Calibrating Living Legend Class... Complete.]

[Warning: Your class is now visible to all who can perceive it. May your legend endure, or fade into forgotten dust. The choice is yours.]

[You have unlocked Four New Legendary Titles!]

[Cleanser of the Highcliff Catacombs (Local Legend): Automatically spread Flames of Life on all undead of common rank.]

[Seeker of Sacred Blooms (Local Legend): Can detect rare blooms within 100 feet once per day.]

[Drake Slayer (Local Legend): Deal 20% additional damage against drakes. Gain a 50% relationship penalty with drakes and a 50% relationship bonus with dragons.]

[Additional legends may form from recent deeds once tales spread: Banishing Belshar the Nightbringer, saving Queen Eleanor II from the Cult of Morvath, wielding two Prismatic Cores.]

The light intensified, becoming almost unbearable. Justin felt warmth spreading through his body—not the heat of fire, but something deeper, more fundamental. It was as if every cell was being rewritten, reorganized around a single concept:

Legend.

He could feel the four stories etched into his being now. And there was room for so many more.

The Voice spoke one final time, softer now, almost gentle:

[Go forth, Justin Talemaker of Enid, Oklahoma. Your story is far from over; it has only just begun. May your legend echo through the ages, and may those who hear your tale find courage in their darkest hour.]

[The Creator watches. And He is pleased.]

The light faded, and the white realm dissolved like morning mist.
