This Is Not the Female Demon Lord I Remembered

Chapter 442: This Blood Demon Is Different

The land was shattered and cracked, and the space was desolate, devoid of any vitality; what lay before Liang Yi and the others was such a scene of ruin after intense warfare.

It was clear that what had once been precious spirit wood and flowers had now withered away, all vitality lost, turning to ash with a mere touch.

Rubbing the ashes on his hand, Liang Yi looked around. Beyond the obvious devastation, he felt that even the air was somewhat stifling.

The place where they appeared was obviously not a complete world, for there were no stars, no moon, no heavenly vault above, only shrouded in pitch-black darkness. Despite the land's vastness, Liang Yi could faintly sense its boundaries, and even the layer of Astral Wind that would appear near the Void overhead.

"It's like a world that has been shattered..." Su Youyi muttered hesitantly by Liang Yi's side.

She herself had never seen a shattered minor world, her knowledge coming only from descriptions in some records, so she was not very certain about the situation they were currently facing.

"It is indeed a shattered minor world." Zhou Yuqing was able to quickly discern the nature of this place.

With her current strength, shattering a small Secret Realm was as easy as playing, and with a bit more seriousness, she could even destroy a large part of a medium-sized Secret Realm.

However, a large Secret Realm is akin to a real minor world, its durability far exceeding that of a normal realm; it would be completely beyond her to shatter one on her own. Only wars of extreme intensity could potentially destroy an entire minor world.

And the land beneath their feet was just a fragment left from the destruction of such a minor world.

Liu Rouxin's mind was somewhat absent, her gaze drifting towards the east, where something seemed to be desperately grasping at her Divine Soul. It was a fatal attraction originating from deep within her heart, from her bloodline source, and she almost lost herself in this newfound force.

"Wake up!" A sharp cry echoed in Liu Rouxin's heart, snapping her consciousness back into place.

"Are you alright?" Zhou Zuixi, concerned about his companion, asked her, noticing Liu Rouxin's unusual expression.

"I'm fine, don't worry about it," Liu Rouxin said, waving her hand dismissively.

Zhou Zuixi's goodwill met with cold indifference, and he resolved to not bother with this violent woman again in the future. After all, how could he, the Second Prince of Xuanzhou's Immortal Dynasty, not care about his own dignity?

"What just happened to me?" Liu Rouxin, not bothering with Zhou Zuixi, asked Xue Youyou within her heart, thinking that with True Dragon's protection, she should not be confused in her mind by someone else.

"That was the pull between Blood Demons..." Xue Youyou replied with a serious tone, cautioning her.

"Never be captivated by that desire that arises from within your heart. Once you become immersed in it, you will lose your humanity and gradually turn into a Blood Demon who knows only slaughter and bloodsucking!"

Xue Youyou enunciated each word, earnestly advising Liu Rouxin.

A chill ran down Liu Rouxin's spine, and although she etched these words firmly into her heart, she still found it strange to hear them coming from a Blood Demon.

A Blood Demon reminding her host not to lose humanity and not to become a Blood Demon.

"I've told you before, one of the reasons why there is only one Blood Demon in each epoch might be that the two cannot coexist," Xue Youyou explained, sharing her speculation from within her little space.

"Blood Demons have an uncontrollable lust for blood cores of their kin. This was just a speculation of mine, but seeing your reaction just now and feeling it, this theory is probably true."

Xue Youyou had no physical body, her flesh was that of Liu Rouxin.

Normally, she would have obliterated Liu Rouxin's Divine Soul and taken over the body as soon as she inhabited it.

But Xue Youyou was not quite typical, so they ended up with this twin existence, where Liu Rouxin's body was also hers, and Liu Rouxin's senses were hers too.

"This feeling... is truly unbearable..."

Liu Rouxin listened to Xue Youyou's words, silent for a while before letting out a sigh.

"Let's endure it a bit longer..." Xue Youyou's expression wasn't looking good either; she was also strenuously suppressing this craving from the Divine Soul, indeed not a comfortable experience, but then she thought of something.

"If we're feeling this way, the other party should be roughly the same."

In another place, within a reddish-brown valley, stood numerous heritage buildings that had long turned to sand. These tall and dense structures scattered across the hillsides, each with countless indecipherable Array runes on them, complex and profound. If they were still intact, surely they would possess all sorts of mystical traits, no?

But even the strongest runes could not withstand the passage of time, and these Array patterns had long since lost their original marvel.

Even if these buildings once withstood the might of Eighth Realm Cultivators without faltering, bright and vibrant, their charming designs now could only retain their last visages in the still air.

Apart from the marks of time, these buildings also bore clear signs of destruction. Such signs of struggle spread across the land; it was just the most severe here.

The valley was a reddish brown color, which seemed not to be its original appearance but more like it had been dyed by something.

At the very southern end of the valley, a small fatty stood next to a big fatty.

Yu Wei, bored to death, squatted on the ground, his pale and chubby hands turning the roasted meat in his hands while continuously yawning.

Facing the oversized Blood Demon that was even broader than the average mountain range, Yu Wei sighed deeply for the 10,886th time in his heart.

His purpose for coming here was to find the Blood Demon, and now he did see the Blood Demon right before his eyes.

But what's with this Blood Demon, making him feel as tiny as a speck of dust?

As the aroma of the roasting meat grew richer, Yu Wei was utterly baffled. Do all Blood Demons look like this? This was entirely different from the fearsome monsters he had imagined!

In Yu Wei's view, a Blood Demon should naturally be incredibly fierce. As for how fierce, the fiercer, the better, of course.

But in reality?

What's with this round, cute, and jiggly Blood Demon that resembled a clear grape jelly, hey! Don't take advantage of him just because he's less educated!

What's even worse was that the strength of this Blood Demon hadn't diminished at all; it was the kind that he couldn't even make a dent in even if it allowed him to attack.

Filled with grief and indignation, Yu Wei channeled his sorrow into appetite, hoping to use his desire for food to dissolve his sadness.

But just as he had sprinkled his special homemade sauce on the roast meat before him, ready to feast, two rounds of the sun suddenly lit up in the sky, and a silent wave of Divine Sense transmitted into Yu Wei's mind.

"Got it, got it, it's freshly roasted, hurry up and eat! I didn't steal any bites, argh..."

Yu Wei, grinding his teeth yet reluctantly, hurled the freshly roasted giant piece of meat—stick and all—straight at the blood-red crystalline wall next to him!

The steaming hot roast meat touched the body of the Blood Demon and immediately "plop" bounced in with a squishy sound.

Yu Wei watched as the once filled storage of food in his ring became empty, early swept clean by the evildoer before him. His already plump body swelled up a bit more, he was about to explode from anger!

To kill or to flay was one thing, but to eat his snacks? What was that all about?

Insult, this was a colossal insult!
