This Is Not the Female Demon Lord I Remembered

Chapter 306: Ouyang Bai

"I can't believe so many things happened while I was just sleeping..." Zhou Wudao was a bit stunned as he listened to Ying Xi's explanation.

"However, I still want to thank Brother Liang for lending a hand to rescue me, otherwise who knows how long it would have taken for me to wake up." Zhou Wudao, despite his physical weakness, forced himself to get out of bed and give Liang Yi a deep bow with sincere expression and heartfelt words.

"Brother Zhou, you take things too seriously, our only enemy is the Abyss." Liang Yi smiled and helped Zhou Wudao up; this artistic Prince was quite interesting.

"Now that this is over, I shall definitely paint a picture for Brother Liang and Fairy Su." Zhou Wudao gave Liang Yi and Su Youyi a look, regretting why he didn't meet these two a bit earlier.

These two were surely born to be captured in paintings, right?

"What about your Lord Orange? Wasn't it I who rescued you, meow?" Lord Orange was not pleased upon hearing this and threw a fit right then and there.

"This... Lord Orange... um... my apologies for the oversight, I'll include you in the painting, everyone together!"

Under the unamused gaze and threatening claws of Lord Orange, Zhou Wudao had no choice but to comply.

"That's more like it, meow!" Lord Orange withdrew his claws contentedly.

"Your Highness, the Crown Prince, you've just recovered from a serious injury, you should rest for today," Ying Xi said, noticing the occasional flash of pain on Zhou Wudao's face, and quickly advised him to rest.

"Yes, Brother Zhou really shouldn't be moving around too much right now. Let's focus on healing your injuries before thinking of revenge," Liang Yi consoled.

"I'm looking forward to the Crown Prince painting for me and my senior brother," Su Youyi also said with a smile by the side.

"It's a pity we couldn't have a more engaging conversation, Brother Liang. Once I've recovered, I'll invite you over to my residence for a good talk," Zhou Wudao said with a touch of regret.

A body just recovered from serious injuries could barely endure much, and he felt unusually weary without having done much, which was a rare occurrence for him.

"In that case, we won't bother you any further, Brother Zhou. We'll talk another day," Liang Yi said, noting that it was getting late and preparing to take his leave.

"Sure, then I'll escort you two out," Ying Xi actively offered upon hearing Liang Yi's intentions.

"Alright, then I'll trouble Sect Leader Ying. I'll go to meet with my father first," Zhou Wudao said with a weak smile, and waved goodbye to Liang Yi and the others before leaving.

"Let's go," Ying Xi motioned with one hand and smiled at Liang Yi.

"Alright!"

The Immortal Dynasty's Imperial Palace was incredibly vast; even in the past, no players managed to see its full extent. In other games, players would often enjoy sneaking up to the rooftops of the palace when their levels allowed it, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Even though they were often chased by the Imperial guards, they took delight in it.

But this kind of fun was something players couldn't experience in the Xuanzhou Immortal Dynasty; even entering through the front gate was incredibly difficult, let alone flying around the rooftops.

Any player who dared to do so was marked as a mortal enemy of the Xuanzhou Immortal Dynasty, relentlessly pursued by the Mystic Bureau.

Now, Ying Xi was leading Liang Yi and Su Youyi towards the front gate of the Imperial Palace, but Liang Yi received some surprising news from Ying Xi.

"Master Ouyang Bai is currently in Qingliang?" Liang Yi was shocked; if that was the case, it would save him a lot of trouble.

"Hm? You're looking for Master Ouyang Bai for something?" Ying Xi seemed somewhat puzzled, not knowing why Liang Yi was seeking out the most famous swordsmith on the Mystical Mechanism Continent.

"Indeed, there's something I'd like him to help with." Liang Yi glanced at his junior sister.

"Hmm?" Su Youyi cocked her head, puzzled at what her senior brother meant.

If Liang Yi remembered correctly, in a few days it would mark one year since his time travel - was that some sort of anniversary?

"I'm not quite clear on what business Ouyang Bai has in Qingliang City, but he seems rather anxious lately," Ying Xi noted Liang Yi's interest in Ouyang Bai and decided to share the information on Ouyang Bai he had collected in recent days.

"That will do, I'll escort you this far. I still need to see His Majesty. Don't you need me to take anything to him for you?" Ying Xi said, his gaze profound and suggestive.

"Uh... Then, please take this Communication Jade to Emperor Zhou, Senior Ying," Liang Yi realized that Ying Xi must know about the Alliance between Purple Cloud Sect and Complete Heaven Sect. The intelligence System of the Mystic Bureau was really terrifying.

"No problem." Ying Xi took the jade tube and then turned to leave.

"Thank you, Senior Ying!" Liang Yi called out his thanks from behind.

"Senior brother, so next we are going to find the Sect Master of the Refining Sect, Mr. Ouyang Bai?" Su Youyi asked her pondering senior brother.

"Yes, we should not delay. It's better to proceed as soon as possible."

Liang Yi nodded; just a moment ago, Senior Ying had already informed them of Ouyang Bai's address.

Listening to their conversation, Uncle Orange listlessly wagged his tail; this matter had nothing to do with him.

Avoiding the bustling crowd, Liang Yi and Su Youyi agilely used their movement techniques to arrive at a quiet slabstone street, standing in front of a forging workshop.

"Clang! Clang!"

The sounds of hammering, penetrating through the door, remained crisp to the ear, each strike rhythmic, filled with an inexplicable charm.

"Excuse the intrusion!"

Liang Yi knocked on the door a few times and, when no one answered, called out briefly before pushing the door open.

The neglected antechamber looked like it hadn't been used for a while; many forging tools were covered with a thick layer of dust, and the loud hammering sound was actually coming from the backyard.

Liang Yi and Su Youyi exchanged glances, both finding it odd.

Following the hammering sound to the backyard, the two of them and the cat first saw a burly elderly man, shirtless, swinging a hammer the size of a head towards a glowing red block of iron on an anvil.

What surprised Liang Yi, Su Youyi, and Uncle Orange even more was that with each hammer blow, the Spiritual Energy in the surrounding Void seemed to resonate solidly.

Even the Spiritual Energy inside Liang Yi and Su Youyi's bodies was slightly stirred, an inconceivable phenomenon for them.

Because the burly elder exerted his full strength with each hammer, his skin faintly reddened, and as his muscles twisted, it seemed as if a fierce dragon roared within.

The two onlookers and the cat did not disturb the elder but instead stood silently in their place, holding their breath and observing intently.

They felt that the more they watched the elder's hammering process, the more rhythmic it became, akin to appreciating a form of art.

The elder, presumed to be Ouyang Bai, also didn't pay attention to the people who had appeared behind him, focusing all his attention on the Smoke Cloud Sky Steel in front of him.

Time passed without knowing how long, and just when the rhythmic hammering sound nearly lulled Uncle Orange to sleep, the sound suddenly stopped.

Uncle Orange, who had been on the verge of falling asleep, instantly woke up, annoyed, and raised his head to look at the elder.

"Failed again..."
