Chapter 709: 121. Run Wild (6k)

"I can hear you, I was just observing the composition and principles of this Magic," Fisher said, his voice a mixture of humbleness and awe. "Although I'm not proud of my level of magic, I've seen most of the magic in the world, and this one is truly... magical. It must have been designed before my theory of magic power sourced from the Soul, yet it directly affects the soul, which really intrigues me."

Valentina, having heard Fisher's words, lowered her hands from in front of her mouth where they had mimicked a megaphone. She then spread her arms and turned her head toward the distant lands, alive and vast before her. She took a deep breath... Even though in the Dream she could not smell anything, she still smiled and said to Fisher,

"Of course, my Mother is a phenomenal Mage, recognized by everyone in the Northern Realm... But the reason I invited you here today is not to study the principles of magic. Such brain-burning matters are not meant for dreams, right?"

At the end of her speech, Valentina turned her head to look at Fisher, showing a somewhat playful smile for the first time, as bright as the sunshine scattered across the snow, capturing Fisher's gaze.

"Dreams, huh..."

Looking at the girl who had become lively and radiant for the first time before him, Fisher murmured with a bemused chuckle.

"Yeah, so let's not think too much now, I haven't been back here for a long time either, let's go have a look around..."

Valentina placed her hand over her brow, shielding her eyes from the dazzling sunlight as she surveyed the distance.

Where the Snowflake Fortress stood marked the world's northernmost tip. During the height of summer, the bright sunshine would particularly favor lighting up both the days and nights here. This phenomenon called 'Midnight Sun' had detached from the real winter days. In this Dream, uncertain if it was illusion or reality, it created a breathtaking spectacle.

"Over there, follow me!"

Valentina quickly chose a direction, following the path laid out by the brilliant sunlight on the snow, opposite to the giant Snowflake Fortress behind them. Fisher could only see the vast expanse in that direction and faintly heard some sounds of the Ocean.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh~"

"Crack crack crack~"

On the unseen sea surface, ice pieces were ceaselessly pushed by the waves to crash against the land, creating crisp sounds.

Nearby, Valentina turned back to smile at Fisher, then slid down the hillside they stood upon, hands behind her back. Her posture, graceful like a fairy, showed her familiarity with the action, clearly something she had done many times before.

Fisher's gaze followed her soul far out until then, when he noticed the path she skied left no Trace on the Snow Mountain. Curious, he bent down to touch the snow on the ground. His fingers felt no cold, as if he touched something "like snow," but not actual snow.

"Thunk!"

Just then, something soft hit the back of his head. The force was light, like a Winter Elf brushing against his skull with a cold touch.

He reached back, and a chilly sensation rushed straight into his fingertips, surprising him as he gripped the snowball that hit him, finding it had the actual feel of real snow.

He turned his head and saw Valentina, who had slid down the slope earlier, was somehow behind him again, weighing another well-formed snowball in her hand.

"Everything you see here is false, just landscapes from my mind, projections of my memory. But there's something magical; if you want to physically obtain something here, you can use your Magic Power combined with your imagination to create it. Although I'm not clear on the principle, it requires a lot of Magic Power. Like making these two snowballs is already giving me a headache... Take this, you rascal!"

Valentina explained and, without a moment's pause, unscrupulously threw the snowball at Fisher's head. He dodged the incoming snowball with a tilt of his head. Before Valentina could launch another snowy assault, a snowball bigger than her flew toward her, knocking her down onto the ground with a 'plop'.

"Fisher!!"

Valentina, shivering from the cold snow on her body, inadvertently hugged herself and yelled out at Fisher.

Fisher hissed, clearly feeling the pain that came with constructing things here. It seemed that indeed one could create objects with Magic Power here. Although the large snowball didn't require much Magic Power, it still made Fisher's head hurt. He clutched his head, suddenly understanding a bit more about how this magic worked...

But now, with the lovely company by his side, as she mentioned earlier, Fisher didn't bring up studying magic again but focused on the dream spawned by this magic.

Valentina, sitting on the ground, looked furious just a second ago, but now she lightly laughed, covering her mouth as she watched Fisher holding his head in pain. She then straightened her skirt, stood up, and said to Fisher,
